Thanks for the video Joe. Have you ever tried flipping sports jerseys?

Trying to understand others' perspectives is one thing. But understanding doesn't help much when they want to force you to live according to those perspectives regardless of your own thoughts.

Not sure if you read comments from older videos but in regards to the total sales you made wouldn’t this mean you made around 20k after 50k net minus 12k cogs, $3600 for cpa and probably around 8k in shipping costs and boxes and 20% self employment tax?

The customer could easily lie and say they took the broken item to the post office and you send them a refund…
In my opinion, is to tell the customer to file a claim and to take the broken item with case number to the postal service.
IF the postal service tries any funny business, the buyer should reach out to Ebay for a refund.

Ppl reselling digital copies when Sony can just have the person buy it off them and not lose a sale. Good food for thought Joe

When people buy a digital copy, they're not really buying a digital copy of the item. They're buying a licence to use the digital item. Consumers seem to be happy with this business model. I'm totally happy with it. If I want to play a game I purchased on Steam or from Blizzard, I can just download it and install it. I don't have to search for the install discs I probably threw away years ago.

What happens when you want to sell your old games your SOL - I understand convenience but it’s terrible when people want to sell there old games it’s not an option with digital only games and the thing is there not any cheaper than physical games

Yea but Sony is selling it at 39.99-59.99 someone who wants to resell the digital copy would undercut just like physical games sell for 20 bucks for example - obviously this is all hypothetical as you can’t do it anyway with digital games but at some point down the road it’ll be a hot topic especially once all the systems go digital only - consumer should have the right to sell & transfer that digital media

Well, the other thing about a license to universe versus owning is that they can modify the game and take out things that someone in the future considers offensive, etc. Once you own your copy, they are not able to do that as easily. Especially if you own the physical copy.I don’t know a lot about this, but I’m talking to my son that was I think pretty close to what he told me. He is a big advocate of owning his own.

I don't think your plan on how to deal with damaged items will fly. Buyers will not want to take the damaged item to their local post office. The buyer's local post office will not know what to do with it. Even if the buyer provides the case number, I doubt their local post office can do anything with it. You are the one filing the claim, not the buyer.
Even if you have "No returns" as your return policy, if the buyer receives a damaged item, eBay's Money Back Guarantee ensures the buyer will get a full refund, with or without your approval.

Your not wrong about buyer protection and your not wrong the post office won’t know what to do with the item however that’s what the case team wants to complete the “inspection” - most buyers won’t mind dropping it off at the post office although it’s inconvenient for them that’s how they’ll get the refund from me so it’s kind of like an incentive to drop it off then I can issue the refund - it’s a trial I’m going to try when this specific issue pops up again it may or may not work we will find out together - heck the post office may not even accept the item from the customer but we shall see - hopefully I won’t have another damage for a while as this is not very common thank goodness

@@JustYourAverageJoeReseller they don't have to get a refund from you. If they receive a damaged item, they go to their eBay account, click on "Purchases," go to the item, and select the "More actions" button. A dropdown appears. From there, they select "Return this item." For the reason, they select "Arrived Damaged." eBay will approve the return. Depending on how you setup your business policy, eBay will provide a return label or not.
You cannot make the buyer perform extra steps. The USPS wants you, not the buyer, to take the item to the post office. They definitely do not want someone to drop it off. If they can inspect the item, what are they supposed to do without it when they're done inspecting it?

Hopefully this doesn’t happen again for a long time as it’s rare at least for me / but Again your not wrong about opening the return and it automatically being approved if you offer free returns however this is what I’m going to trial as most customers are pretty good and willing to help, if need be I’ll call there local post office and speak to the postmaster so we can arrange the item drop off once inspected they normally keep it or send it back in my experience - doesn’t make sense to have a damaged item shipped back from the customer to me and in my experience the claim team wants the item in the original packaging the way it was delivered - we shall see what happens next time this is what im trying we will see how not works on the next damaged item - if the customer isn’t willing to take it or the postmaster refuses accepting the item from the Customer with the case # then I’ll just issue the refund and eat it or figure something else out

@@RickInMaryland usps is so annoying they make u send the buyer in not ship it back to u to try to get an insurance claim paid out. It just gives them the leverage of saying how do we know the damage happened in shipping the buyer could’ve damaged it or how do we know when the item was damaged which if it was damaged in the return shipping imo they should still pay so that argument they like to throw at you is immaterial if u ask me

Issuing refunds regardless of whatever happens is ludicrous
