I wonder if Ole Jesse Barr walks around the jobsite with the same permanent dumb look on his face he had for 20 years in wrestling. He kept that same dumb look on his face, until he wisened up, covered up part of his face, and depreciated the value of the Funk Name, by becoming “Jimmy Jack Lone Ranger Funk”.
I remember Jimmy Jack Funk from the World Class/USWA Tv show on ESPN. He was one of those guys who always seemed to alternate between heel/babyface every few weeks…
According to Jesse's LinkedIn profile, and he does go by Jesse. He lives in Baton Rouge and recently retired from being an adjuster. Still got the nose
Tag Team that shoulda been put together; somehow, somewhere, sometime -- The Imposters: Jimmy Jack Funk and Lance Von Erich (tricky trivia....both trained by Sandy Barr)
It's pretty easy to separate the two Portlands in terms of wrestling: Portland Oregon was its own popular, influential promotion, run by a powerful, influential promoter, so that's why they generally refer to Portland by name that way. They had their own TV show as well as house show circuit. Portland Maine was just a second or third tier city in the old WWWF, and had been since at least the late '60s, just another stop in the New England portion of the company like Springfield MA, Providence RI or Nashua NH.
He did a Mr. Wrestling gimmick in the last days of Georgia Championship Wrestling and fueded with Mr. Wrestling II over who was the real Mr. Wrestling.
That was when I started watching wrestling regularly, I was living in Louisville and watched Cornette managing Jesse and "Exotic" Adrian Street, that was an odd team. Then Jesse disappeared and Street went his own way while Jim started managing the masked Galaxians (Danny Davis and Ken Wayne). A few months later my family moved to Portland, Oregon and when I surfed the local channels, finding Portland Wrestling, I was shocked to see Jesse right there. Jesse was a good Journeyman wrestler but there was nothing really Standout about him, a decent Territorial midcarder but never really the guy to be put in the Main Event. He also allegedly turned into a bit of an asshole backstage, aside from the apparent issue with Haku he was also allegedly instrumental in The Rockers being suddenly released from the WWF when they were first hired.
Jesse Barr AKA Jimmy Jack Funk, was actually a talented wrestler out of Portland, Oregon. Unfortunatly, he went to the WWF as the lost Funk brother J.J. Funk. After Terry and Dory .Jr left, he became a jobber.
"Gimmicked garlic bread" :D
You can't over-garlic me! 😂
According to Wikipedia Jesse Barr is "in the construction business in Portland, Oregon."

„Regenwetter“ is German and means „rainy weather“. I’ve never seen it as a last name though.
The beginning reminded me of The NeckCutters debut match and the commentators kept fumbling his name 😂
LMAO this artwork is amazing i love the gimmick of wrestlers hiring jim cornette and firing him 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jim channeled his inner Wario with that garlic rib
I remember seeing Jesse on Mid-South. He got a lot of visibility there.
