Giving money to a man who obviously didn’t want them to leave seems like a safer alternative than being stubborn and staying to see what Marco wanted to do with them...
Lol I should clarify, I just don't understand why they threw more money at him once they decided to run away. Like why as you're leaving? For positive reinforcement? 😅
Coming soon to Buzzfeed Rome: "I live in Rome. Several years ago, I was moonlighting as an unlicensed taxi driver. It's a living, sort of. I didn't have my own car, so my friend Marco would lend me his at night. Let me tell you about the time three Americans threw up in Marco's car and broke my phone."
As an italian teen I am REALLY sorry for that shady guy. Im starting getting used to the night scene here in rome and i know its defenetely not safe, but you guys basically escaped a kidnapping and thats insane. Im glad at least you got to experience the kind, charming italians as well ;) I am also super happy because its always good to see people interested in classics (as i am) and in ancient greece and rome, i hope the overall experience was good :)
Rome is fking wild man. i was there last month and everyone kept saying "whatever you do, don't take a taxi." they even have signs up in places to try to help people determine the "real" taxis
This verbatim happened to me and my friend when we were studying Florence. Except no limo and happening ending, just miles and miles of walking. I’m seriously shook at how similar our stories are...
Brigid: "Who are you talking on the phone?" Mysterious man: "Mi amico, Marco." Brigid: "Say ciao to Marco." *Take and throw his phone in the bushes* Me: "Omg, this girl is a legend!" XD Im shock, like really shock with her quick thinking xD
Ha yes, but I think the video title is referring to the moment she grabbed the cell phone and threw it in the bushes. If she hadn't, they may not have discovered a reason to run away.
How to get a job a Buzzfeed Interviewer: "So do you have any special talents or crazy stories you like to share?" He/She: 'So there was this one time......" Interviewer: "Stop! YOU'RE HIRED!"
Wow, you must have had a weird experience taking a cab cause it doesn't sound normal to me ! Guy rushes them into the car, does not disclose the price or put the meter on and gets upset when they ask about it... Also if they stayed in Rome and partied there why was he driving them in the middle of nowhere ? The whole thing is fishy and don't forget they were drunk young foreign women, a very high risk demography...
Allison B. Yeah, definitely seems “off” to me. Whoever gave them information before sending them to study abroad failed to give them the most important advice: trust your gut! If something looks fishy, don’t get involved with it to start with, especially when there’s a language barrier. Unfamiliar cultures bring unfamiliar threats, take extra precautions to stay safe when traveling anywhere. Stay safe!
babe i don’t think being scammed was gonna be ur problem. sounds like you were gonna get trafficked. please anyone reading this, never get in someone car you don’t know no matter how desperate you are or how nice they’re being.
That is called human trafficking the guy in the fake taxi is called a spotter he leads the victims in and marco would be the one to take you away you are extremely EXTREMELY lucky you got out of that
Something similar happened to my aunty in reading, England. She got into a taxi that tried to kidnap her, if it wasn’t for her friend getting into an actual taxi who recongised what was happening my aunty wouldn’t be here to tell the tale
Beef Eggroll You know there’s probably a good chance that some (if not all) parts of the stories on Buzzfeed are faker than my will to live, or more exaggerated than my intelligence, right?
When she talked about Marco, my first thought was it’s Marco from Tropoja. Anybody who has seen Taken will get what I’m saying. I honestly believe that if those girls had stuck around they would have been kidnapped and trafficked.
I’m sorry you had to live this situation and that was definitely an illegal taxi! There are signs everywhere saying to avoid this kind of cars but I know that the city is really disorganised so it is far way to easy to fall in one of this scams if you are a tourist or a foreigner! I’m living currently in Rome, it’s my 8 year here ( I’m from the south of Italy ) and also if I’m Italian, the first years where really difficult! It’s a beautiful city but unfortunately has a lot of problems
Recap: you get in a shady Taxi and then one of you puked so the Taxi driver got mad then he called his amico Marco so you took his phone and threw it in the bushes probebly destroing it
This happened to me in the Dominican Republic with my best friend. She had a pattern of getting totally wasted. Unfortunately, this night everyone wanted to stay out but I felt like it was a bad idea for her to continue in her state. So I told everyone I would take her home and come right back. I wasn’t 100% sure where we were bc the taxi driver was intentionally driving in circles and SO fast- taking all kinds of back streets. When I finally got us home, he insisted I pay him what he asked because he drove so long. I told him he chose to do that even though I was repeatedly telling him he was driving like a psycho. I balled up half of the money, threw it at him, and dragged that drunk woman out of the car with me and quickly into the gate.
It's just a fake taxi, they are everywhere. For those who are saying they were about to get sex trafficked, chances of that from this story are very very slim (why would a sex trafficker throw you out a car for vomiting? they wouldn't care about it), but I am glad you all think about that stuff! It keeps you safe! :)
Just give this girl her own story time series.
Isn't this her series?
recoil53 no it’s a story time series of multiple random people
recoil53 hhhahahah yes! She is mood
She has lived more than I would in three life times
Yes
This girl has a lot of stories from college 😂. Damn all my stories currently about college is me crying about exams, papers, and due dates
It's called privilege lol
Lol....well Ive noticed that the good stories often start with the story teller doing something that isn't exactly smart.
im not even in collage yet!
Me forgetting the attachment every time
What kind of due dates;)
My favorite thing about this video is that they used a green screen to put a plain white background behind her 😂
Nikki Mirhosseyni i mean, it's help avoid shadows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Look at the hair 😂😂😂
Right
It avoids shadows, they can put her behind pics, and they can use it for diff videos
A blue screen actually
“Say ciao to marco” when I say I YELLED😂😂
MEEE
AHAHAHAHA THIS COMMENT KILLED ME AGAIN
😂😂
BEST PART 😂😂
Her: Gets into a strange car, almost gets kidnapped, escapes
Also her: Doesn't learn lesson and gets into another strange car minutes later.
allycookie2009 no they think is a taxi
RONAYSKA DJAOEN no they don’t, it’s a limousine
Omg Best comment here
It was his amico Marco
A fancy strange car*
I just...don't understand why they kept giving him money.
Yeah they should have just ran you don't know if it was illegal
probably because they were afraid & thought it would make him leave them alone 🤷🏽♀️
@@somewhatcompetent he could have chased them? Just to be cautious I guess 🤞🏼
This sounds like you nearly escaped human trafficking.
Mackenzie N I was thinking the exact same thing.
No it's just an abusive taxi it's normal in Italy
its not even a taxi sweetie
@@snake6706 it's not, it's an abusive one
Sweetie
Getting into that limo could easily be the beginning of Taken
Especially with dude’s name being Marco lol
Getting into either car could have and probably was the beginning of Taken.
Taken was such a good movie
jnbg61584 Marco from Tropoje
What if that lovely couple was Marco and his girl.🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊
Have thought of that
Me too 👀
I also thinking the same thinng xD
then yell, CIAO MARCO
And they where driving to the guy!!!

HAHAHAHHA
Good one
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This girl's life is very interesting. Just give her a different storytime channel for her own stories.
A guy yeah but... I’d watch it ok?!?!
How is this story in anyway interesting?
Producer: Who's story should we record today?
Director: Your choice.
Bridgid Shows Up..........
Director: YOU AGAIN?
Why did she walk in and say shows up?
Devoted Cetacean she doesn’t... it’s a stage direction
I think the director of the series is her husband (pooping behind the dumpster guy)
I just screamed 😂😂

Ye
And nobody thought to ask the limo guy if his name was Marco? I've read enough crime novels to always see the twist coming.
I was ready for that plot twist.
Lol😋
I thought that. Maybe that driver was calling that guy in Limo
“Say ciao to marco”
*yeets phone*
That one friend : RUNNNNNNNNNNN
How many strange(R) things has this woman had in her life? Lmao😂
Lauryn-Hill Carrilho I don't think it's her story I think it's a fan who sent it in. But she's just sharing the story
Ikr there are like 3 stories of her on this series.
Ali Baddad | I thought so, but sometimes there are people who tell their own stories. But she really tells it as if she has experienced it herself😂
Lauryn-Hill Carrilho like 200 million. 😂😂
She is just making them up
“Say ciao to Marco” OHHHHHHH I FELT SOME GENUINE SAVAGE VIBES
And Marco, sweet Marco, I'm sad we never got to meet. Ciao
I was expecting "and to marco, sweet marco
Vaffanculo"
andri tlp haha. I expected that to
😂
I read your comment as I she said it XD😂
andri tlp lmfaooo
It seemed like human traficking or basic extorsion..... Proud you survive the whole ordeal....👏👏👏
The scene in Taken LITERALLY went
Liam Neeson: which one of you is Marco?
The human trafficking men: we’re all Marco
Just reminds me of that scene from the movie Life. They all step forward “I’m the papi.”
This girl would get in everyone's car without suspecting anything?
That's the first thing that my parent thought me: NEVER trust strangers
well she's american
@Person oh, sure. All American people are white.
Alex Pozzan
Huh?
This girl got some crazy stories😭💀
Lock up abroad. Lady, You and your friend almost became victims of human trafficking.
Rene Arrazcaeta nah, prolly the usual italian guy trying to illegally drive around people
100% agree. Her and her friends were lucky to get away.
No, it's just an abusive taxi, it's normal in italy
@@bq419 But he did not take them to their area? That's the troubling part.
@@bjmurray1842 also, he was on the phone with a dude planning God know what.

I swear I was getting serious anxiety while watching this video
Why.?
Brigid has more action in her life than anyone I've ever known 😂
This verbatim happened to me and my friend when we were studying Florence. Except no limo and happening ending, just miles and miles of walking.
I’m seriously shook at how similar our stories are...
How did you and your friends escaped?
And then you woke up
Crazy that you’d trust a random limo after that whole experience.
Brigid: "Who are you talking on the phone?"
Mysterious man: "Mi amico, Marco."
Brigid:
"Say ciao to Marco."
*Take and throw his phone in the bushes*
Me: "Omg, this girl is a legend!" XD
Im shock, like really shock with her quick thinking xD
"I'm sorry we never met...Ciao!" 😂😂😂 this was insane. I was afraid at first that Marco showed up in that limousine.
This is a perfect example of when Street Smarts is better than book smarts
Tyrone Parra I mean classics is nothing compared to actual STEM of engineering so
not very steet smarts if you get in a fake looking taxi with a screaming stranger
STREET SMARTS
@@PortalJay they threw that taxi driver off his rhythm
I love how they all managed to completely rule out the possibility of trafficking or something like that

Edit: WOW!!! Thanks for the likes
SoLar Clan karma
I’m pretty sure some people just submit their stories and she reads them
SoLar Clan 200%
haha! yea, i think so!! good catch C:
Yes.
Actually, she's a good storyteller but this sounds like a normal taxi drive with hysterical, drunk women ^^ The limousine part is awesome though.
I was thinking the same thing ... Then again, I watched the Uber Drivers' Worst Pet Peeves (Buzzfeed) yesterday. ... Biggest pet peeve? Drunk people
