Love the use of a bench grinder as the driving motor - cheap, easy to find, and they already have a standard dimension shaft and screw thread cut in to tighten drive wheels to. Great idea. Also who cuts dovetails in plywood! Absolute mad lad, love it.
Ok. I had to watch one more of your videos and glad that I did. Now I am officially late to band practice. Haha! This belt grinder is, well, I love it. Thanks for the plans!

Ahaha your thread of comments about band practice are pretty 10/10. Hope your band wasn't overly upset 😉
Good question. It is starting to not work as well. I need to take 2 hours to really fix it up perfectly the main issue is one of the bearing is out and I have a small alignment issue. I may make some modifications while I am at it to make it more rigid. But I use it at least a few times a week. It gets lots of use, I have put at least 35 belts through it.
I'd like to know how you developed your quite creative engineering skills.

I have just always had a passion for understanding the world around me. I like to explore everything so I can use the knowledge for my own inventions later on! Plus I find trying new things more appealing since you never know how it will work out in the end.
Great vid & excellent project. I like eliminating the 4th wheel, less complicated is better. I would suggest putting a good quality wire wheel on the opposite side, great for metal & indispensable for removing rust & chasing threads
Very cool. Around 5:53 what are you rubbing on the wood? Is that wax for a glue mask? Also I really dig your style. I've always been a fan of Matthias Wandel's wood machines, but I like your design esthetic much more. I'm just blown away by your elegant solution for belt tracking.
Very nice project. Is it made from all ½" baltic birch plywood or is some ¾"? Looks like glued up ½", but I'd like to try making one myself. Thanks for making plans available.

I just answered you on makers playground but for others that may see this, it’s 1/2 Baltic birch.
Wow! I wouldn't even know where to begin on this project. Very nice.

It's lovely to watch a truly skilled person create things of especially diverse nature. And the best I've seen thus far. Never stop making!
Muito bom . Obrigado por deixar disponivel os planos .
So, what are the red strips in the main arm for? Decorative, or functional?
After two years, how is it holding up?
