i think sharifabulaith gives the best explaination regarding with "The will of the first cause " : if the process is spontaneous, eternal cause will bring eternal effect. but if the process have the will , eternal cause will bring temporal effect (which are all the contingent thing).

  • @AslamaDawah
    @AslamaDawah ปีที่แล้ว +2

The best answer for the dilemma of will would be in my opinion, the example of an eternal fire.
A mexhanical process if eternal wpuld produce an eternal effect.
If a fire is burning eternally, it's light which is its effect, will also be eternal.
So universe has to be eternal if the cause is mechanical but it isn't because it began to exist at some point in time.
So in order for a being/something to cause a temporal effect like a universe, it has to actively choose to create it a certain time. Hence it must possess will.

I think to make it simple with the whole independent being must have a will & intelligence, we should make an argument on how could something that have no will & intelligence can bring about complex design & being that also have will & intelligence, like us humanity. This may very solve the doubt from both the universarism & randomness arguments.

Here is something fascinating! A verifiable fact you can check for yourselves with a spreadsheet!
In the Qur'an 89:3, God (Allah) swears by the even and odd.
    1. By the daybreak.
    2. And ten nights.
    3. And the even and the odd.
What is so special about odd and even?
“We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; And We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).” (15:9)
We all know that in modern communications, we make use of a checksum at the end
of the message to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of the contents and
if the checksum doesn't compute, it means part of the message has been compromised.
There are 114 chapters of the Qur'an in total and 6236 verses. If you add the chapter
number with the number of verses in that chapter you'll get a list of 114 numbers
    starting with 1+7=8, 2+286=288, 3+200=203 etc
Amazingly, 57 of these totals are even and 57 are odd.
Then if you sum all the even totals, the sum is 6236 (the total number of verses)
and if you sum the odd totals, the sum is 6555 (the sum of the surah numbers, like 1+2+3
    all the way to 114).
You can prove this to yourself with a spreadsheet. But this is the point!
The moment you change the number of verses in a chapter or decide to add a chapter, the totals get messed up.
How do you account for that?
Now say "Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah, Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasulu-Allah!"

Random? A specific DNA code, a specific tilt of the axis where 1 degree too far or not far enough would be game over for us, a specific placement of stars in the sky from our vantage point to perfectly draw out pictures in the sky, a perfect trajectory of meteors over hundreds of millions of years ramming into the earth to get it to heat up to release trapped water in the comets and then subsequently cool down to the perfect temperature, and that's all random?
I'm not a religious person, but this is why I could never be atheist. Too many specific conditions had to play out perfectly just to toss it all up to " lucky random accident"

It is one thing to recognise our inherent human limitations on knowledge and so say there are things we 'may' never come to know. It is another thing entirely to positively claim and assert that we 'will' never know a particular matter like how or why we have consciousness? While the first matter is self evident, the second surely needs demonstrable proof of claim or is otherwise just a kind of secular imperious ignorance masquerading as intellectual humility. That is to say it is an assertion that actually imposes ignorance imperiously - by laying claim to an apparently superior academic humility for the self which at the same time implicitly demands that others equally take the same position that “we just don't or cannot ever know.” Ironically, this is an objection against belief in God which itself depends upon faith; for it relies upon the belief in an intangible yet supposedly unassailable ignorance against which all endeavours for enlightenment are futile.

It not have to have a will it could be inherent within itself to act, just like people breathe, it is not their will, it is a unconscious action, the will argument is stupid, God does have a will but he does not need to have a will.

That is why you are a well-designed creature, fit for purpose, you dont have to WILL everytime for your internal organs to function. It is AUTOMATIC.

@@carliemorales204 exactly my point, will is no necessary for action, the one that created us does not necessarily need to have a will, it could be just a function of God, it could be that God does have a will.

      Hello, what point????
You breathe automatically because that is what your internal organs are designed for. But if you want to drink coffee, even if the cup, teaspoon, hotwater, creamer and sugar are there for million of years, you wont have a cup of hot coffee, unless you WILL to act and make one.

For example an AI or robot does not have a will because it is not a living being.
Changes or movement only occur due to action.
Existence cannot exist without the will of a being, like how a person cannot move without his will.
Try moving without wanting to or trying to or willing to, If you can then I will be thoroughly impressed.
The wind moves due a chain that the universe creates, and who willed the universe into being? God.
It's not hard to understand, without an action an occurrence cannot happen.
Nothing never existed it was always everything and everywhere.
An easy way to understand is to think of this conversation itself. Before the conversation began, everyone here was still present, they just never conversed, the universe might not have existed at some point but it was always there, God just didn't will it into being yet.
