The WEAKEST Muslim argument is: If Jesus is GOD, why did He say, “The Father is GREATER than I” in John 14:28? It's WEAK argument because it ignorantly confuses greatness of ROLE with greatness of NATURE (essence of God)! The “greatness” spoken of by Jesus in this verse, relates to ROLE, not to NATURE (essence). Interestingly, this chapter (14), is the very chapter where Jesus clearly DECLARES that he shares the SAME NATURE (essence) as the Father!!! 'Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? ANYONE WHO HAS SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I AM IN THE FATHER, AND THAT THE FATHER IS IN ME? Jesus is submissive or subservient to the Father in ROLE and not in NATURE. Jesus states that the reason for his first coming was to SERVE and not to be SERVED. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be SERVED, but to SERVE, and TO GIVE HIS LIFE AS A RANSOM FOR MANY.” (Mark 10:45) Jesus being submissive or subservient to the Father in ROLE lies within the nature of the INCARNATION. The title 'Son of God' simply means that the Word (who in essence is God, spirit and eternal) was revealed/manifested/became flesh (INCARNATED) in human form at a point in history by conception through the Holy Spirit. During the incarnation, Jesus was temporarily “MADE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS” (Hebrews 2:9). However, Jesus is fully DIVINE, too. By taking on human nature, Jesus did not give up His divine nature-God cannot stop being God. Therefore, subservience in ROLE does not equate to subservience in NATURE. For example, consider an employer/employee relationship. The employer has the right to make demands of the employee, and the employee has the obligation to serve the employer. The roles clearly define a subservient relationship. However, both people ARE STILL HUMAN BEINGS and share in the SAME HUMAN NATURE. There is no difference between the two as to their essence; they stand as equals. The same can be said of the members of the Godhead . All three members (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are equal: they are all divine in NATURE/essence. However, in the grand plan of salvation, they play certain ROLES, and these roles define authority and submissiveness. The Father commands the Son, and the Father and the Son command the Holy Spirit.
John 17:3? You forgot to contextualize John 17:3 itself, the FOLLOWING verses and the first chapter and the previous 16 chapters of the book of John! Friend, it's called EXEGESIS, and not just cherry picking verses which you think tickle your senses! Read the verses following John 17:3 "I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I HAD WITH YOU BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN." (John 17:4-5). How come Jesus says he was with God BEFORE the world began? Is there any prophet who ever had GLORY with God before the world began, before creation? This means the Son is ETERNAL with the Father. Is the attribute of God not that he is eternal?? Muslims would like for John 17:3 to read "...You, the only true God WHO SENT JESUS CHRIST" but that's not what the verse says. It says "You, the only true God, AND Jesus Christ whom You have sent." The verse clearly ASSOCIATES Jesus with God. Jesus explains "God" to be the Father: "and now FATHER, glorify me with the glory I had with you before the world began". Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ But you have not known him. I know him. John 8:54-55 The Son of God, just like the Father and the Holy Spirit, is God in nature. The ASSOCIATION of Jesus with God is also found described in the prophetic book of Revelation regarding the end of the age when the Son will rule in the kingdom of God: 'The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our LORD AND of HIS MESSIAH, and he will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15) 'Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the Throne AND to the Lamb (Jesus) be PRAISE and HONOR and GLORY and POWER, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped." We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-3, 14). Prophesy about the Messiah from Micah the prophet of old: “But you, BETHLEHEM Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are FROM OF OLD, FROM EVERLASTING.” (Micah 5:2). Does the above prophecy refer to Jesus? 'After Jesus was born in BETHLEHEM in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: “ ‘But you, BETHLEHEM, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’” (Matthew 2:1-6) 'John testified about him [Jesus] when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he EXISTED LONG BEFORE me.’” John 1:15 . In Genesis 3:14 God says his name is I am who I am ". This translates to YAHWEH. The name YHWH, consists of the sequence of consonants Yod, Heh, Waw, and Heh. “I am” is a declaration, “I exist.” YAHWEH has commonly been interpreted as a statement of God’s SELF-EXISTENCE. So Jesus was declaring his self existence long before Abraham. Jesus was declaring to be YAHWEH! Was Jesus with the Israelites on their journey from Egypt? "For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors [the Israelites] were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:1-4). Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an is an illusion and delusion whose profile/attributes/mission/titles does not MATCH with any of any of the prophecies revealed by the prophets of old whatsoever. There is a FORMULAR available to sincere Muslims for proving the true Christ and the false Christ and therefore whether Islam or Christianity is FALSE: THE PROPHECIES OF THE MESSIAH! Which Jesus is true: the Islamic one or the Gospel one? There are well over 50 PROPHECIES of the MESSIAH from the revelation of the prophets in the Old Hebrew scriptures which describe the profile/attributes/titles/mission of the Messiah. These will help the open-minded Christian and Muslim finally determine whether their version of Jesus is TRUE or FALSE. Below are five reasons why it's critical and urgent to use the Messianic prophecies to determine if Christianity or Islam are true or false: 1. People will either perish (Hell) or be saved (Heaven) based on the identity of Jesus. The true identity of Jesus determines if Christianity and Islam are TRUE or FALSE. Jesus of the Gospels and Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an can not both be true at the same time. 2. The Messianic prophecies were written long before Christianity, Islam, the Greek, Romans, Paul, the Church or Nicea so they have no bias or favour towards the version of Jesus of the Qur'an or that of the Gospels. 3. If we don't use these prophecies then we can't test whether the accounts by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about the Messiah were true or false. Can we trust Waraqah Ibn Nawfal (an Ebionite/Jewish Christian heretic) to convince Muhammad that the angel Muhammad had seen was the Angel Gabriel of the Bible? The angel itself never said it was Jibreel. Did you know that Satan, the great deceiver, was cast down to earth together with his ANGELS and Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and righteousness? 4. When the noble-minded Jews of Berea first heard the gospel about Jesus Christ they searched the scriptures (the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms) day and night to see whether what the apostles were saying (about the Messiah/Jesus) was true (Acts 17:11) As late as the 7th century, Allah of the Kaaba was instructing (QS 2:136 and 4:163) Muslims to believe in the revelation of the PROPHETS. Why would Allah instruct you so if the revelations of the prophets were already corrupted? 5. Jesus himself confirmed that the PROPHETS wrote about him: "If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me." (John 5:46) “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is WRITTEN ABOUT ME in the Law of MOSES, the PROPHETS and the PSALMS.” (Luke 24:44). If Isa doesn't match the prophecies, Isa is FALSE and Islam is FALSE. This would be a deal breaker for me if I was Muslim! You are welcome to do a quick google search of ANY THREE Messianic prophecies (which MATCH with the attributes of Isa of the Qur'an) from any website of your choice. Please respond. If you do not respond I will take it that you failed to find any of the prophecies which MATCH with Jesus (Isa) of the Qur’an and therefore Islam is FALSE.. I'm genuinely excited to respond, later, to questions about whether Jesus is God or why Jesus says the Father is greater BUT no such strawman arguments, which do not provide the prophecies of the Messiah as requested, will be accepted at this point. Most Muslims will be familiar with how it was Waraqah Ibn Nawfal who confirmed the prophethood of Muhammad and also told Muhammad that the angel he had seen in the cave of Hira was in fact "Jibreel" although the mysterious angelic creature itself never said so. But what most Muslims are not aware of is that Waraqah Ibn Nawfal was an Ebionite ["ebyonim" in Hebrew, meaning "the poor")], a heretical and vegetarian Jewish sect of Christianity which believed in "pure monotheism" or hanifs-but this was a term borrowed from the Syriac "hanephe" to describe "heathen" Arabs. Although their literature resembled the Gospel of Mathew, the heretic Ebionites did not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus but believed that Jesus was the natural born son of Joseph and Mary! FACT. The Ebionites eventually invented their own gospel (the Gospel of the Ebionites) without the virgin birth narrative. It is this Gospel which Waraqah Ibn Nawfal had in his possession at the time of Muhammad (Sahih al-Bukhari 3392a). Now the mysterious angelic creature had pressed Muhammad three times until he thought he was going to die. Muhammad's own testiment thought the angel was demonic.(IBN Ishaq 106, al Tabari vol 6,7071) and was so terrified that "he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" Sahih al-Bukhari 4953 Waraqa said, "O my nephew! What have you seen?"The Prophet (ﷺ) then described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same Angel (Gabriel) who was sent to Moses. I wish I were young." Sahih al-Bukhari 4953 Waraqah himself never saw the angel but from Muhammad’s account he just concluded that it must have been "Jibreel"...and Waraqah Ibn Nawfal was a heretic! What authority did Waraqah, a heretic, have to tell a man who a moment ago felt demon possessed that the mysterious creature Muhammad had seen was "Jibreel" the Angel Gabriel of the Bible? Muslims have been lied to! As we (the people of the scriptures) know, Satan (the great deceiver) and his ANGELS were cast down to the earth. Was the angel which appeared to Muhammad a satanic angel disguised as an angel of light and righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)? We have no doubt about that! The apostles had warned Christians (Galatians 1:8) to be watchful of anyone, even an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, which would come preaching a gospel about Jesus Christ different from the one taught by Christ and the apostles (the Son of God crucified for the sins of mankind). Let us test whether the Jesus of Al-Maidah 5:109-120 which the mysterious angel shared with Muhammad matches with what the prophets of old taught of the true Messiah. Can you provide any THREE PROPHECIES of the Messiah from the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms which prove Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an to be true and not a 7th century false invention?

In this chapter, Jesus informs the disciples to PRAY to him after he has ascended to heaven. Prayer is offered only to God. Jesus is confirming that he and the Father have the NATURE of God and that they are ONE "I and my Father are ONE" (John 10:30).
"'And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."(John 14:13-14).

Jesus states that the reason for his first coming was to SERVE and not to be SERVED. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be SERVED, but to SERVE, and TO GIVE HIS LIFE AS A RANSOM FOR MANY.” (Mark 10:45)

The title 'Son of God' simply means that the Word (who in essence is God, spirit and eternal) was revealed/manifested/became flesh (INCARNATED) in human form at a point in history by conception through the Holy Spirit.
During the incarnation, Jesus was temporarily “MADE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS” (Hebrews 2:9). However, Jesus is fully DIVINE, too. By taking on human nature, Jesus did not give up His divine nature-God cannot stop being God.
Therefore, subservience in ROLE does not equate to subservience in NATURE. For example, consider an employer/employee relationship. The employer has the right to make demands of the employee, and the employee has the obligation to serve the employer. The roles clearly define a subservient relationship. However, both people ARE STILL HUMAN BEINGS and share in the SAME HUMAN NATURE. There is no difference between the two as to their essence; they stand as equals.
The same can be said of the members of the Godhead . All three members (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are equal: they are all divine in NATURE/essence. However, in the grand plan of salvation, they play certain ROLES, and these roles define authority and submissiveness. The Father commands the Son, and the Father and the Son command the Holy Spirit.
John 17:3? You forgot to contextualize John 17:3 itself, the FOLLOWING verses and the first chapter and the previous 16 chapters of the book of John! Friend, it's called EXEGESIS, and not just cherry picking verses which you think tickle your senses!

How come Jesus says he was with God BEFORE the world began?
Is there any prophet who ever had GLORY with God before the world began, before creation? This means the Son is ETERNAL with the Father. Is the attribute of God not that he is eternal??
Muslims would like for John 17:3 to read "...You, the only true God WHO SENT JESUS CHRIST" but that's not what the verse says. It says "You, the only true God, AND Jesus Christ whom You have sent." The verse clearly ASSOCIATES Jesus with God. Jesus explains "God" to be the Father: "and now FATHER, glorify me with the glory I had with you before the world began".
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ But you have not known him. I know him. John 8:54-55
The Son of God, just like the Father and the Holy Spirit, is God in nature. So John 17:3 is the wrong place to go to for Muslim trolls because it CONFIRMS, instead of rejecting the concept of Jesus being of the same nature as the Father.
Could Islamic literature associate Allah and Muhammad as God by saying "You, the only true God, AND Muhammad whom You have sent." That would be shirk, right?

The Father is GREATER in ROLE to the Son but equal in NATURE/ESSENCE /FORM. Although Jesus is subservient to the Father and is SENT by the Father, the Son is EQUAL in ESSENCE/NATURE to the Father.
It's what it is. Progressive revelation is that the Creator is a three PERSONS but a monotheistic BEING/GOD. That is who he is. Just because you can't wrap your three dimensional mind around it doesn't make it false.
The ASSOCIATION of Jesus with God is also found described in the prophetic book of Revelation regarding the end of the age when the Son will rule in the kingdom of God:

Is Jesus ETERNAL? So why did Jesus say "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I HAD WITH YOU BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN." (John 17:4-5)?
Was Jesus proclaiming to be eternal and therefore to be God in nature? Jesus is the Word become flesh. The Word is ETERNAL/EVERLASTING and exists in eternity as SPIRIT long before he took on the form of a MAN/FLESH (Hypostasis Union/God-man) by birth through Mary.

Prophesy about the Messiah from Micah the prophet of old:

Does the above prophecy refer to Jesus?

'John testified about him [Jesus] when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he EXISTED LONG BEFORE me.’” John 1:15

So Jesus existed BEFORE Abraham.
In Genesis 3:14 God says his name is I am who I am ". This translates to YAHWEH. The name YHWH, consists of the sequence of consonants Yod, Heh, Waw, and Heh.
“I am” is a declaration, “I exist.”
YAHWEH has commonly been interpreted as a statement of God’s SELF-EXISTENCE. So Jesus was declaring his self existence long before Abraham. Jesus was declaring to be YAHWEH!
Was Jesus with the Israelites on their journey from Egypt?

Which Jesus is true: the Islamic one or the Gospel one?
There are well over 50 PROPHECIES of the MESSIAH from the revelation of the prophets in the Old Hebrew scriptures which describe the profile/attributes/titles/mission of the Messiah. These will help the open-minded Christian and Muslim finally determine whether their version of Jesus is TRUE or FALSE.
Below are five reasons why it's critical and urgent to use the Messianic prophecies to determine if Christianity or Islam are true or false:
1. People will either perish (Hell) or be saved (Heaven) based on the identity of Jesus. The true identity of Jesus determines if Christianity and Islam are TRUE or FALSE. Jesus of the Gospels and Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an can not both be true at the same time.
2. The Messianic prophecies were written long before Christianity, Islam, the Greek, Romans, Paul, the Church or Nicea so they have no bias or favour towards the version of Jesus of the Qur'an or that of the Gospels.
3. If we don't use these prophecies then we can't test whether the accounts by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about the Messiah were true or false. Can we trust Waraqah Ibn Nawfal (an Ebionite/Jewish Christian heretic) to convince Muhammad that the angel Muhammad had seen was the Angel Gabriel of the Bible? The angel itself never said it was Jibreel. Did you know that Satan, the great deceiver, was cast down to earth together with his ANGELS and Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and righteousness?
4. When the noble-minded Jews of Berea first heard the gospel about Jesus Christ they searched the scriptures (the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms) day and night to see whether what the apostles were saying (about the Messiah/Jesus) was true (Acts 17:11)
As late as the 7th century, Allah of the Kaaba was instructing (QS 2:136 and 4:163) Muslims to believe in the revelation of the PROPHETS. Why would Allah instruct you so if the revelations of the prophets were already corrupted?
5. Jesus himself confirmed that the PROPHETS wrote about him:
"If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me." (John 5:46)
“This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is WRITTEN ABOUT ME in the Law of MOSES, the PROPHETS and the PSALMS.” (Luke 24:44).
If Isa doesn't match the prophecies, Isa is FALSE and Islam is FALSE. This would be a deal breaker for me if I was Muslim!

I'm genuinely excited to respond, later, to questions about whether Jesus is God or why Jesus says the Father is greater BUT no such strawman arguments, which do not provide the prophecies of the Messiah as requested, will be accepted at this point. The other MIND BLOWING reason why open-minded Muslims should urgently look into the PROPHECIES of the MESSIAH to verify who is TRUE or FALSE between Jesus of the Gospels and Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an, is that the mysterious angel which appeared to Muhammad in the dark cave of Hira never at any point introduced itself to Muhammad as the Angel Gabriel (Jibreel). FACT.
Seriously, if I was Muslim I would step outside the bubble of the Qur’an to know what (specifically the prophets of old from the Old Hebrew scriptures) said about the Messiah and then COMPARE with the Messiah the mysterious angel shared with Muhammad and the Messiah who appeared to the disciples!
Most Muslims will be familiar with how it was Waraqah Ibn Nawfal who confirmed the prophethood of Muhammad and also told Muhammad that the angel he had seen in the cave of Hira was in fact "Jibreel" although the mysterious angelic creature itself never said so.
But what most Muslims are not aware of is that Waraqah Ibn Nawfal was an Ebionite ["ebyonim" in Hebrew, meaning "the poor")], a heretical and vegetarian Jewish sect of Christianity which believed in "pure monotheism" or hanifs-but this was a term borrowed from the Syriac "hanephe" to describe "heathen" Arabs. Although their literature resembled the Gospel of Mathew, the heretic Ebionites did not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus but believed that Jesus was the natural born son of Joseph and Mary! FACT.
The Ebionites eventually invented their own gospel (the Gospel of the Ebionites) without the virgin birth narrative. It is this Gospel which Waraqah Ibn Nawfal had in his possession at the time of Muhammad (Sahih al-Bukhari 3392a).
Now the mysterious angelic creature had pressed Muhammad three times until he thought he was going to die. Muhammad's own testiment thought the angel was demonic.(IBN Ishaq 106, al Tabari vol 6,7071) and was so terrified that "he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" Waraqa said, "O my nephew! What have you seen?"The Prophet (ﷺ) then described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same Angel (Gabriel) who was sent to Moses. I wish I were young." Sahih al-Bukhari 4953
Waraqah himself never saw the angel but from Muhammad’s account he just concluded that it must have been "Jibreel"...and Waraqah Ibn Nawfal was a heretic! What authority did Waraqah, a heretic, have to tell a man who a moment ago felt demon possessed that the mysterious creature Muhammad had seen was "Jibreel" the Angel Gabriel of the Bible? Muslims have been lied to!
As we (the people of the scriptures) know, Satan (the great deceiver) and his ANGELS were cast down to the earth.
Was the angel which appeared to Muhammad a satanic angel disguised as an angel of light and righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)? We have no doubt about that!
The apostles had warned Christians (Galatians 1:8) to be watchful of anyone, even an ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, which would come preaching a gospel about Jesus Christ different from the one taught by Christ and the apostles (the Son of God crucified for the sins of mankind).
Let us test whether the Jesus of Al-Maidah 5:109-120 which the mysterious angel shared with Muhammad matches with what the prophets of old taught of the true Messiah.
Can you provide any THREE PROPHECIES of the Messiah from the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms which prove Jesus (Isa) of the Qur'an to be true and not a 7th century false invention?

It's the words of scholars, people that have dedicated their life to studying the bible. They have evidence for their claims, it's not a "source: trust me bro" situation.
