This video is one of my favorites. A truly helpful way of making a shelter that is solid, comfortable, practical, easy to make, and one with a beautiful view. I felt like I was there making it myself as I watched your good instruction. Thank you very much! :)

A good thing to do would be to spread the bottom of the a frame post out way more so the room becomes more slanted, also instead of anchoring tarp with logs just use more rocks so it doesn't catch water other than that great job.

I think I would have swung this st up about 90 degrees so I could run my ridge pole off that big root ball and put a tripod on the other end. I built something like this about 6 years ago. I built a table inside the tripod and used it as my kitchen. a few days later I added an upper shelf as well. I am sure there are things I couldn't see like prevailing winds but I like what you did here.

Very nice survival lean. The only thing I would have done differently is to not have it near the wind fallen tree. If the tree was cracked from the fall and split the weight of the roots and dirt would bring that 1000 lb root wall down on you and crush you. Many people have been found dead after being lost in the woods, using a root/dirt wall as shelter from the rain and and as the dirt became wet from the rain the weight brought the roots back down to the earth with the people under it. Also some actually used the branches off the tree for fire wood and lightened the tree further making the balance even that more unstable. There is a lot of weight in the roots and dirt. Dangerous place to be.
