      Hey I bought the plans and am starting this build - question. The plan calls for 1.75 thick lumber. Is that your starting thickness after planning it down or where you started at?

And I very much like the video production - straight ahead and to the point, keeping the focus on the work and not the 'show'. Hey Brandon, im making this table now for the second time, the first one turned out great! This second table is going to be 12 feet instead of 10 feet. Do you think there would be any issues with using this same design and adding a foot to each end? Im thinking as long as the stretchers are the proper length it shouldnt be a problem.

  • @kevinarnold5869
    @kevinarnold5869 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Awesome table. What kind of wood did you use? And the dimension? I hesitate to purchase lumber from a box store as it is full of water and may tend to warp over time. Any recommendations?

    • @WalkersWoodworks
      @WalkersWoodworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @WalkersWoodworks
      @WalkersWoodworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually try to use 3 on a 10ft top or 2 on 8ft or less. I buy it from the metal yard in 20' sticks. It's around 20-25 bucks and just cut it myself and drill the holes.

    Wow I really love this design, nice chunky legs that are unobtrusive. I also would love to see those plans; I would be a buyer if you put them up on your website's shop :)
    Also it looks like you built it to be dismantled for transport, which is great. Is the center stretcher held in place by two dowels in each leg? Are those glued or can you knock them out? I also missed what the dado's at the end were for, and where the screws go that end up in the threaded inserts in the top?
    Keep it up!

    Awesome Table and great video. I'm putting together a cut list and plans to build one my self. I have one question, what are the three 6' 6" boards on your cut list used for? Thanks in advance.

    Ok how much epoxy did u use for a table like that in gallons ,and how much did you sell the thing for ,I want to do what u r doing but I am afraid of the cost lol is the work and cost worth it ? What was your cost to make it all the cost sanding finishing epoxy so I can see if I want to jump in to it please and good job looked great .

      I want to know about the table u made in this video , Besides showing people how to make it you guys should sure what the price of something like that cost and goes far that’s just as much is showing somebody how to do something like that that’s all I was wondering

    • @WalkersWoodworks
      @WalkersWoodworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well honestly it's almost always for clients so that probably wouldn't be a great business decision. As far as the epoxy though I only used a few ounces. A quart will go a long way just filling knots and cracks.
