First saw this on The World's Most Extraordinary Homes, and that airy living room surrounded by the mountains has sort of haunted me ever since. There is something about that space that evokes pleasant memories of cozy autumn days in the mid-century era elementary school classrooms that I grew up in. I will never own a home like this but if I could just have that sort of large sunny room with those views I feel like I would have a home that is more than a house.
Very beautiful, however, not a house for real live children - especially not for babies on those stairs - too dangerous (or parents/nannies toting babies, etc. up all those stairs). Also wouldn't work well w/grandparents coming to visit!

This space, while aesthetically pleasing in an abstract sort of way, is not designed w/any thoughtful consideration for the needs of actual functioning human beings who'd have to live in the space.
@@claystonegeo-gy9br the architect who designed and lived in the house w/his family, didn't give a shit about his children (babies and toddlers at the time) or their mother, nannies, etc. having to use/fall down those impossible staircases.

Good design, but very unsafe for thives and criminals
