    Another education video. This one tells me I don't have the necessary patience for quality body work 😊 Thanks Dan, keep the videos coming

    Dan - After you have the body totally blocked out and sprayed to final clear coat, how do you move the body to the final frame without causing movement in the body that will show up? Or is your work process to move the body to the final frame after blocking and then do one last check and then finish coat?
    BTW - I have watched your series since the beginning on cable and glad to see you continuing on the web. Your work by you and your team is first class and I really appreciate your honesty with your customers about what work needs to be done and the cost involved.

    More great information. I know very little about body work so the whole video was educational for me. It definitely makes you appreciate the level of work that can go into a really nice paint job.

    I never thought that perfect body work was easy. I would love to have the facilities to be able to work on my own cars like this. But even from doing something as small as refinishing antique furniture, I can tell you its not just a matter of running sandpaper over it and slappiing stain over it. Lots of little chips and imperfections to take care of. Afterall the last piece of furniture I did was built in 1850. So it has had time to get dinged up. :) Point being nothing is as easy at it can look to the untrained eye. Not that you are this bored, but let say you went out and got two cheap identical cars. You gave one the paint job that people think a car needs, and give the other one the full on Dan and crew treated paint job like the detail in this car Park them side by side in the corner of the shop with a list of time and materials etc and let the results speak for themselves. People touring might really see what really has to be done to make a perfect car. :)

    That is the most satisfying part of the work for me. I lost my job at Tidewater Dodge because I took my time doing the work. They had get er done itis. I was looking for perfection. Always have and always will. Great work guys!

    Always enjoy the Fantomworks team's auto restoration videos, they really know what they are doing. Quality of work seems really good. I am guessing the TH-cam videos will be a better deal for the business than the TV series was.

    It is impressive that Dan knows this much about body work. Looking forward to the color.

    For the level of quality that is pretty fast.
    Speed based on perspective.
    If it was dropped off yesterday and expected to be mirror perfect by Friday, it ain’t happening!

    It nice to see you showing how it works. I’m not a body guy but one of my oldest friends is one so back in younger days 30 + years ago I would hang out a shops he worked at and help and learn at the same time. Very good episode

    Could you explain the difference between paints and clears? There seem to be many options and it can get very confusing. Are cheap paints worth it for a quick and dirty build? Are expensive paints worth it for an average home garage project? You get picture.

    Not being a bodyman I've always struggled to understand how a body technician gets it perfectly flat. The flashlight in the dark perfectly explained and demonstrated it, very informative. Thank You 😊.

    I love my AFS sanding blocks, wish I had bought the full set when they were still available.
    Thanks for the new content, really appreciate your time and effort.

    Would love to have a dollar for the tens of thousands of hours I've done that in my lifetime. Good music playing and then get in the zone mentally and away I go.

    I hope he was meaning microns not millimetres as 6mm is nearly quarter on an inch which is just a bit bigger than a human hair! LOL G

    I don't have that kind of patents to sand like that. I did my own complete rebuild of my 1968 Mustang myself except for sanding and painting it.

    8 mills that is not the thickness of a human hair 8 mill is about 5/16 I don't know about you but I have yet to see a human with such thick hair....

    • @rayparks6854
      @rayparks6854 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are confusing mils with millimeters. 1 mil is equal to .0254 millimeters

    • @andywarrington4738
      @andywarrington4738 ปีที่แล้ว

      yet again US messed up terminology , just like they call a split pin a cotter pin which is not the same thing , a split pin is self explanatory , like thou's and hundreds of millimetres , not mil@@rayparks6854
