  • ENVO Mask N95 Filter Testing
This video demonstrates some testing that we performed using the Envo N95 filter. We tested the ENVO N95 filter using a custom setup. The filter is held to a ventilator filter housing, which has had its own filter material removed, using rubber bands. The air goes to a four part manifold which allows the air to be measured by the PCE particle counter. We are still working on this part of the set up. The four section manifold allows sampling of the ambient air. The PCE particle counter measures particles as small as 0.3 microns. A micron is 1/1000 of a millimeter.
The one downside to this mask is that the exhalation port is not filtered. If you are an asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 you can spread the virus with this mask. There is also no voice diaphragm which makes talking somewhat difficult. The mask itself is quite comfortable and the seal is made of nice soft rubber like material. You can solve the problem of the exhalation port by covering it with a surgical mask.
Based on the measurements we made, this mask should work against COVID-19. Nonetheless, this mask was not designed for biologic particles and caution should be used when using this device for this purpose.

Here is the link to the NIOSH and CDC website confirming it is a legitimate mask. They are mask 8448.

As a former reservist officer on Chemical and Biological warfare I use a 3M 6200 respirator, (which seals tight my face),with 3M 7093 Particulate Filter 2 Pairs NIOSH P100 P3R, and glasses too. If you use a face mask and Glasses in cold weather, and the Glasses are fogging, that means that you are exhaling and inhaling around the mask.

Niosh test is 85L/min @ 3" disc, so based on your area it should be something like 60L/min. As ref. the total area of the envo mask is .007232 m^2 and face velocity is 0.196 m/s, about 2X a regular N95 FFR.

Can you do the japanese products eg. shigematsu. Their n95 cartridge, the x2 is “washable”. The n100, x3, is standard hepa. For fun, I suggest you also test the UNICLO airsm, for which people lined up blocks for.

I can try to get my hands on them. If you have any extra, happy to test them.

I looked on Amazon and they do not have them. It seems this company only sells in Asia when I check the website for the company. But that filter looks awesome. I will try to see if someone can get a hold of one to test.

Shigematsu has way lighter masks comapred to 3m 6800. The single filter half mask is also pretty low profile, I’ve bought 7 to add to my rotation. For long angio procedures and any short emergency procedure where swab is still pending, I still use the Cleanspace halo fullface demand PAPR. For short procedure ie, tube insertions, centesis or biopsies I use 6800 and now this shigematsu tw088. Id love to send some samples but there is no way for packages that come from the Philippines to just walk its way through US customs. Lol.

Btw start of the pandemic I used a divemask with a vent filter as inspired by your videos. I was able to last through a long PTBD using it, though my partner/assist had presyncope (from the nosebridge pressure i think).

August 2022 and just got my Envo mask. Loved the fit and seal until I smiled. The seal at my nose gapped about a 1/4 of an inch. 130 bucks down the drain with no return policy.

      Thank you!
But try to make sure that it's the "AirQueen (Breeze) Mask" (providing higher filtration rate "FFP2"), not the "AirQueen (Nano) Mask".
And that it's not a Counterfeit.
I got mine from the Official store: soomlab-korea.com/products/airqueen-breeze-mask
      You can check with them.
