    Thank you so much for this! Everything you mentioned (the lightness, the less impact while jumping, the wideness of the toe box) is everything I've been looking for in a skate!

    I actually already ordered parkstars, but I'm watching reviews to make me feel better about spending that money while I'm waiting for them to arrive. It's awesome to see you so excited about them!! Besides them being awesome by all accounts, I have wide feet, so I'm stoked to try them - I hadn't even considered that a low heel could help with jumps, which is the main thing I'm "working on" lately. Thanks!!

    Great review! I usually skate Neos on Lollys and I agree with your experiences with the heel, jumping, the heel feeling and the tightness around the toe. You've convinced me to get Bonts and mount them to my Neos! 😊

    hey! i watched your video and i'm thinking of buying some parkstars myself... i mainly park skate but i'm not sure if i should buy them with 89a wheels or 99a wheels. i skate with impalas at the park (on the verge of breaking) and the wheels are 83a. i don't know if i should get something in between to ease myself up to a harder wheel or just go all out. any thoughts?

    • @KevJaz
      @KevJaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably best to start with the 89a but it depends...what is the surface of your park and how do you like your 83a wheels on that surface?

    • @tessa207
      @tessa207 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KevJaz my park is pretty smooth and i do a lot of jumping kind of tricks there. i'm worried that the park wheels won't provide a soft enough landing, but i'm also not sure if the street wheels will give me the speed i want.

      @KevJaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tessa207 going from 83a to 89a will feel faster, especially on smooth surfaces! If it was me i'd go 89a, get used to those and then decide if you want harder wheels later 😊

    Hi! I don't think I this was mentioned but what size heel did you go for? I'm leaning towards some Parkstars after park/ramp skating in Moxi Panthers for about 6 months (skating derby in a bont skate for 8 years) and I'm just constantly dithering over what size heel to get 🤯 would be great to hear your perspective!

    • @KevJaz
      @KevJaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Parkstars have a built in heel of 23mm, it is so small that we barely notice it! Is there a heel built into your Bont derby skates?

    • @hannahbolic2849
      @hannahbolic2849 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KevJaz yea there's a small 6mm one I think. The custom Parkstar allows you to choose between 23mm, 11mm or 6mm for the heel. I know the 23mm is like half the size of the Moxi already 😅 with covid I haven't really had my derby set up on much since March and when I have it feels so weird! I'm just a bit wary of dropping the heel too much and losing my balance all the time on ramps 🙈🙈

    • @KevJaz
      @KevJaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, we did not know that! When we ordered our Parkstars we asked about heel and were told 23mm but were not told about other sizes!

    Did you order a specific plate for these or is this the standard plate for the bont park star ? Also why wheels do you use? Outdoor crosses ? Or park hardness?

    • @KevJaz
      @KevJaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this is a plate that I had before ordering boots, Reactor Neo, and it does not come with Parkstars. For outdoor wheels I am using Sure Grip Boardwalk and for park wheels Bont Park Flow 😄

    Hey there! I'm looking at park setups and the Park Stars with the Reactor Neo plate but am having trouble finding information about wide truck options for the Reactor Neo plates. Is this something y'all have looked into at all? Are wide trucks something that you think would benefit your park skating?

    • @KevJaz
      @KevJaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have not looked into wide trucks for Reactor Neo plates as we don't feel we need them currently. If we were skating big vert ramps maybe we would want them but don't have that at parks around here now. Have heard other skaters say Sure Grip Avanti plates are easier to swap for wide trucks but have not tried them ourselves🤗

      Another idea might be ask Bont if any of their plates work with wide trucks? We did not look into Bont plates since we already had the Neos but their customer support was helpful when we asked questions about the boots😃 Have fun with your new set-up!

      @@KevJaz Thanks so much for the reply. I just received my first pair of Roller Skates yesterday in the mail. The Chaya Jump model in black and white. I liked the configuration of their plate, with the plates having a left and right foot plus the offset toe stop. I'm researching higher end roller skates for a future purchase if I stick with it. I had found Bont a few months ago. Loving the Bont or new Antiks.

      @KevJaz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on your new skates, have not tried Chayas yet but have heard good things about them! Antiks are also good boots we have skated, similar in style to Bont Parkstars but much softer, the Bonts are much tougher!
