All the suggestions are generally good advice with the exception of color space, you want to set it to standard not pc rbg. Running it on pc rgb is equivalent to the full range setting of 0-255 while standard is the limited range 16-235 you also want to make sure your black level on the lg is set to low and not high to match otherwise you will have problems with either the blacks being to dark and crushing detail or the opposite where the blacks are not dark enough. Otherwise all the settings he went into and changed are great.
I went with the Series X on it's value proposition. Being able to keep my controllers and having Game Pass was a no brainer, especially since my kids and I use it every night. I am hoping to get a CX or its successor sometime this year, my Vizio E-Series cannot do this console justice. Keep up the great work Caleb!
If you go to home dashboard on the CX, select the gear on top right corner for settings, select the source your console is using, click the controller icon and change it to PC. You can enjoy 4:4:4 chroma instead of 4:2:2 you’re welcome.
@shaGuar if I remember rightly you shouldn’t choose to have the pc option from the Xbox because it can affect the colours. But it’s really down to personal preference so if it works for you then wicked 👍🏻

Sorry but there seems to be some inaccuracies and incomplete information here. 1. If you do the HDR Calibration on the xbox place the CX in HGIG in the tone mapping settings. 2. 120 hz introduces a lot of color banding in hdr. If not playing a game that can play at 120hz keep it at 60hz. You'll still have vrr and 444 chroma. Keep in mind that VRR can introduce some gamma flicker during dark scenes. Tv may vary. 3. Must use bitstream for atmos sound. Still waiting on receivers that can support full HDMI 2.1 on the xbox as there are some known issues. 4. Although xbox supports dolby vision, it doesn't yet support discs yet. Waiting on update since last year. Dolby vision does work on Netflix however. 5. Last yes with all this I still would recommend this combo if you do not plan on getting the G1 from LG.
I made a group on the main screen for all streaming apps so they are all in 1 place. You don't have to go the route you did in this video it'll literally be right there on the home screen.

Yeah i have something similar mine is functional apps, like the xbox accessory app, and dolby atmos. Then entertainment apps like netflix and of course games.
Got both series X , and LG Oled Tv . The best , greatest gaming experience ever love playing with those graphics and deep colours ! Specially the assassins creed games ! Def. recommend the combo 3 thumbs up

Bought the 65” CX about a month ago and just got my series X last week. Absolutely love the fact I can use my airpod pros as my headset through the tv. Hooking my ps5 when I get it next
How do you find the cx. My main concern is with bright sunny gaming scenes which I perfer to the dark dimly lit moments. Do they look as vibrant as lcd/led?
I can’t speak for the CX, as I don’t have it yet sir. I hear the 2021 C1 is 20% brighter. So that for sure would have no issue being vibrant in any lighting. I only hope the CX is sufficient enough as I will get it in another week or so as a birthday gift. Don’t wanna wait until the C1 arrives. 🙃

Couple of corrections: the Ultra HD Blu-ray player app does not support Dolby Vision, sadly. And if you check "Allow YCC 422", your video output will be limited to 8-bit, which is why it is not check marked by default (and why it's even an option to begin with). Also, I would recommend setting the XSX' Color Space output option under the Advanced -> Video fidelity & overscan section to "Standard (Recommended)" rather than switching it to PC RGB as suggested in this video. Many TVs do not properly detect and switch between full (0-255) range and video limited range (16-235), particularly when using the XSX for video streaming services. If the XSX is set to output the full PC RGB (0-255) range, you will often end up with incorrect black levels, as the TV is expecting black to have a signal level of 16, and instead, in PC RGB mode, the XSX will be sending a signal value of 0 for video black. Your images will remain more consistent, with correct black levels, across games, streaming, and discs if you leave the Color Space output as Standard.

I was able to finally pick up a Series X in late December on their All Access plan. It is an incredible system that I am loving quite a bit. It is my daily driver and I have already completed AC Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla on it along with the first two of the new Hitman series and am currently working on the absolutely gorgeous Hitman 3.
I got 1 day one, 14 hours waiting outside gamestop. We had 10xs and 4s's I traded in my onex and bought all my accessories day 1. Bought my cx the week before.
You need to change the HDMI input name to PC instead of gaming console on the Home Screen so you can get full RGB without banding or flickering. You will have banding and flickering if you don’t switch it over to PC mode with VRR
I have the Sony X900h, and while not an OLED display, I absolutely love it with my Series X. Crossing my fingers, they will come out with VRR sooner than later.
So how does it work with 120 hz tv? Just plug it in and you will have 120 FPS if the game allows it in 4k? Cuz don't only some game allow 120 FPS with a lower resolution?
Woah hold the phone...at 7:10 you say the blu-ray player app does HDR10 and Dolby Vision...I know it does HDR10 but unless something has changed since the series X was released it does not do Dolby Vision from the disc. It does do dolby vision on certian apps like Netflix...Can you confirm you get Dolby Vision from the 4k Disc on Xbox Series X?
Glad someone mentioned this, I was thinking the exact same thing. Also, not sure why he said he would choose the 5.1/7.1 output setting for getting Atmos/DTX content to an external sound system. It must be set to “bitstream” instead, which will allow you then to specify the exact processing tech in the drop down below.
I bought an Xbox series S for $299 retail and then sold it for $400 then bought an Xbox series X with extra controller from an individual for $700 so paid less than $100 above retail out of pocket for series X bundle. Personally for me Xbox is my console of choice. I got my Xbox series X day one, and my LG CX in September of 2020. BEST COMBINATION EVER! I also have a 2 year old Samsung tv in the living room and just comparing the two the CX just looks MILES better! I’m so happy with both of my purchases

If you connect to an AV receiver, dont select the 5.1 / 7.1 as mentioned in this video. Select Bitstream so the AV can correctly process the sound codec.
I initially went with the 65" Sony X950H because I let my brain absorb too many warnings about burn-in. While the Sony has a beautiful picture and decent black levels, I was more disappointed with the lack of HDMI 2.1. With Best Buy's easy exchange, I decided to get the CX after all. Two weeks in, I started seeing what look liked green sparkles in one particular area. It got really bad in from top to bottom, in what appeared to be a row, nowhere else. I did get Geek Squad protection but I contacted LG. I quickly heard from the area's only official LG service company. The person was supposed to be there yesterday but I had to reschedule due to a conflict. Strangely, the issue has completely stopped. I hope this isn't the start of regular problems because the combo of the CX and Series X is quite stunning. As Caleb mentioned, the load times are so much better on Forza Horizon 4, I literally could not stop laughing the first time I started the game! I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. I knew there would be some improvement over my Xbox One S, I just could not believe to this extent. I am looking forward to Horizon 5, to say the least. If you can get this TV to go with the Series X, I think it is well worth the premium.
Indeed. I just got the hive dlc or whatever and have been playing through that on PC with my CX48. Man it is a pretty game and runs smooth as silk I just wish I could actually BUY a 3090 GPU so I could use the HDMI 2.1 features :(
Played 100+ hours with Original Xbox One on my LG CX OLED and sucked it up and dropped $850 for an Xbox Series X on ebay after trolling reddit and getting jealous of all the screenshots. Holy shit difference is night and day, I think it's called vray shading but the graphics are drastically improved on the series X and something I didn't even think about is loading times are 75% faster. Plus the LG CX has something called Instant Game Response that means I can turn the TV on and be playing the game within 5 seconds - no exaggeration. My Series X has crashed about 3 times after 4-5hrs of gaming, it runs really hot. Good combo with this setup is Phillips Hue Gradient Play bar and Sync Box - it will emit colors based upon what is on the screen at the time, seriously increases immersion.
If anyone has problems with the quickly access to the apps, i would recommend to make a seperate pin "Application" and then you have it on your home screen in the spot you want :)
I’ve got both next gen systems. I have the Sony x900h tv. Both systems are amazing! The Witcher 3 looks absolutely amazing in series x, highly recommended
@@RetroX-uu6cq naw bro. While i hoped and wished that was the case, it isn't. I have a Series X paired to a 65 inch oled. I held out for them to fix the raised blacks in the 4k player and they just did but no dv support. Vincent Teoh even said that Sony and Microsoft will never support dv at disc level and if they did, it would be the "fake" dv that streaming services like Disney+ uses. Grabbed a Sony x700 player from best buy on sale for 149 and never looked back. Also want to add that im in the preview program and DV support is not even on the horizon.
I found out just recently that you can in fact use the lg remote for the console for media apps. After some troubleshooting and not being able to use it for months, I finally got it working. You have to first disable HDMI CEC, then begin the universal remote set up. Select blu ray as the device type, enable hdmi cec under this menu, and search for Microsoft as the brand. The key is to disable HDMI CEC first, then enable it in the universal remote set up. There’s definitely a lot of quirks and issues with the TV still, but the picture quality more than makes up for it.
There are issues running that pc rbg because the Xbox port and tv are not true 2.1 hdmi. It ends up dropping to 4:2:0. You can see it in the TV info menu. Also series x does not do Dolby vision of disc. Again, hdmi port limitation
Got my LG CX 55” first and then my Xbox Series X about a month after launch. Loving every bit of the combo. Agreed...totally worth the premium price. I look at it from the perspective that I will be holding onto both of these things for several years at least and if capitalizing the cost across this timeframe, it makes for a good deal IMHO.
7:11 Is this true? I always read that both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are NOT capable of Dolby Vision on 4K UHD Blu-ray discs, just for streaming services like Netflix.
I've had the series X since Christmas. Paired with the LG SM9000 LED it has HDMI 2.1. 4K at 120HZ looked incredible !!, the wow factor obviously settles down but games still look super crisp and smooth

The two displays on my current short-list are the LG CX, and the TCL 6 Series. The CX is clearly "better" at nearly everything, but the TCL is half the price and doesn't risk burn-in. I'd really love to see some content that compares these two TVs in the context of gaming. Bang-for-the-buck vs. best-at-all-cost, perhaps?
Jus got 55in CX yesterday and my god what a set up for the series X! Speaking of loading times, Borderlands 3 is insanely fast. Took up to 20 mins or more when first starting on my one X. On my series X less than 30 seconds
Got me an LG OLED CX 55 and waiting on an XBSX to be delivered by the end of March. Pretty hyped. Though maybe not as hyped as some as I also have a PC with an nVidia RTX 3070 on a QHD monitor @155 hz . Pretty freakin awesome.
Someone’s probably already said this but you can actually create groups of apps and then pin those groups to your Home Screen. That solves the problem of not having those media apps easily accessible.

I have the Vizio 5.1.4 with this set up and it's amazing !! (Not the newest system , the box square front sound bar ). Works perfectly.

Upgrading from my c7 to cx in about two weeks.
How do you find the cx. My main concern is with bright sunny gaming scenes which I perfer to the dark dimly lit moments. Do they look as vibrant as lcd/led?
I can’t speak for the CX, as I don’t have it yet sir. I hear the 2021 C1 is 20% brighter. So that for sure would have no issue being vibrant in any lighting. I only hope the CX is sufficient enough as I will get it in another week or so as a birthday gift. Don’t wanna wait until the C1 arrives. 🙃

Bitstream out gives the best sound for Dolby Atmos. After you choose bitstream you can choose DTX or Atmos.

Couple of corrections: the Ultra HD Blu-ray player app does not support Dolby Vision, sadly. And if you check "Allow YCC 422", your video output will be limited to 8-bit, which is why it is not check marked by default (and why it's even an option to begin with).
Also, I would recommend setting the XSX' Color Space output option under the Advanced -> Video fidelity & overscan section to "Standard (Recommended)" rather than switching it to PC RGB as suggested in this video. Many TVs do not properly detect and switch between full (0-255) range and video limited range (16-235), particularly when using the XSX for video streaming services. If the XSX is set to output the full PC RGB (0-255) range, you will often end up with incorrect black levels, as the TV is expecting black to have a signal level of 16, and instead, in PC RGB mode, the XSX will be sending a signal value of 0 for video black. Your images will remain more consistent, with correct black levels, across games, streaming, and discs if you leave the Color Space output as Standard.

I was able to finally pick up a Series X in late December on their All Access plan. It is an incredible system that I am loving quite a bit. It is my daily driver and I have already completed AC Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla on it along with the first two of the new Hitman series and am currently working on the absolutely gorgeous Hitman 3.
I got 1 day one, 14 hours waiting outside gamestop. We had 10xs and 4s's I traded in my onex and bought all my accessories day 1. Bought my cx the week before.

You need to change the HDMI input name to PC instead of gaming console on the Home Screen so you can get full RGB without banding or flickering. You will have banding and flickering if you don’t switch it over to PC mode with VRR
I have the Sony X900h, and while not an OLED display, I absolutely love it with my Series X. Crossing my fingers, they will come out with VRR sooner than later.
So how does it work with 120 hz tv? Just plug it in and you will have 120 FPS if the game allows it in 4k? Cuz don't only some game allow 120 FPS with a lower resolution?

Woah hold the phone...at 7:10 you say the blu-ray player app does HDR10 and Dolby Vision...I know it does HDR10 but unless something has changed since the series X was released it does not do Dolby Vision from the disc. It does do dolby vision on certian apps like Netflix...Can you confirm you get Dolby Vision from the 4k Disc on Xbox Series X?
Same. No Dolby vision Blu-ray support. Only in apps like Netflix.

Also, not sure why he said he would choose the 5.1/7.1 output setting for getting Atmos/DTX content to an external sound system. It must be set to “bitstream” instead, which will allow you then to specify the exact processing tech in the drop down below.
I don't think you get Dolby Vision from the Blu-Ray player, just app streaming.
The PlayStation 3 had more Blu-ray features.

I bought an Xbox series S for $299 retail and then sold it for $400 then bought an Xbox series X with extra controller from an individual for $700 so paid less than $100 above retail out of pocket for series X bundle. Series X bundle was $559.99 retail and after tax that’s closer to $600 and I got an extra $100 profit from series S sale! Working the system!

I’m not sure if you know this. But your LG CX has Bluetooth so you can set up your wireless there. Just press and hold the setup button.

You have to select bitstream for Atmos. And no mention of VRR flicker.
If you are getting flickering I have a LG c9 I turned off a setting called live plus and the flickering went away

Personally for me Xbox is my console of choice. I got my Xbox series X day one, and my LG CX in September of 2020. BEST COMBINATION EVER! I also have a 2 year old Samsung tv in the living room and just comparing the two the CX just looks MILES better! I’m so happy with both of my purchases

If you connect to an AV receiver, dont select the 5.1 / 7.1 as mentioned in this video. Select Bitstream so the AV can correctly process the sound codec.

It's hard between the two they both have something better then the other but I'll say PS5 because of the dual sense and more exclusive games to play
I initially went with the 65" Sony X950H because I let my brain absorb too many warnings about burn-in. While the Sony has a beautiful picture and decent black levels, I was more disappointed with the lack of HDMI 2.1. With Best Buy's easy exchange, I decided to get the CX after all. Two weeks in, I started seeing what look liked green sparkles in one particular area. It got really bad in from top to bottom, in what appeared to be a row, nowhere else.
I did get Geek Squad protection but I contacted LG. I quickly heard from the area's only official LG service company. The person was supposed to be there yesterday but I had to reschedule due to a conflict. Strangely, the issue has completely stopped. I hope this isn't the start of regular problems because the combo of the CX and Series X is quite stunning. As Caleb mentioned, the load times are so much better on Forza Horizon 4, I literally could not stop laughing the first time I started the game! I was as giddy as a schoolgirl. I knew there would be some improvement over my Xbox One S, I just could not believe to this extent. I am looking forward to Horizon 5, to say the least. If you can get this TV to go with the Series X, I think it is well worth the premium.

Indeed. I just got the hive dlc or whatever and have been playing through that on PC with my CX48. Man it is a pretty game and runs smooth as silk I just wish I could actually BUY a 3090 GPU so I could use the HDMI 2.1 features :(
Played 100+ hours with Original Xbox One on my LG CX OLED and sucked it up and dropped $850 for an Xbox Series X on ebay after trolling reddit and getting jealous of all the screenshots.
Holy shit difference is night and day, I think it's called vray shading but the graphics are drastically improved on the series X and something I didn't even think about is loading times are 75% faster.
Plus the LG CX has something called Instant Game Response that means I can turn the TV on and be playing the game within 5 seconds - no exaggeration.
My Series X has crashed about 3 times after 4-5hrs of gaming, it runs really hot.
Good combo with this setup is Phillips Hue Gradient Play bar and Sync Box - it will emit colors based upon what is on the screen at the time, seriously increases immersion.
If anyone has problems with the quickly access to the apps, i would recommend to make a seperate pin "Application" and then you have it on your home screen in the spot you want :)

You do not get dolby vision via disc. Its only for streaming apps. That's why i bought a sony x700 4k player.
I believe they updated the player in January to support Dolby vision with 4K.
@@RetroX-uu6cq naw bro. While i hoped and wished that was the case, it isn't. I have a Series X paired to a 65 inch oled. I held out for them to fix the raised blacks in the 4k player and they just did but no dv support.
Vincent Teoh even said that Sony and Microsoft will never support dv at disc level and if they did, it would be the "fake" dv that streaming services like Disney+ uses.
Grabbed a Sony x700 player from best buy on sale for 149 and never looked back.
Also want to add that im in the preview program and DV support is not even on the horizon.

I found out just recently that you can in fact use the lg remote for the console for media apps. After some troubleshooting and not being able to use it for months, I finally got it working. You have to first disable HDMI CEC, then begin the universal remote set up. Select blu ray as the device type, enable hdmi cec under this menu, and search for Microsoft as the brand. The key is to disable HDMI CEC first, then enable it in the universal remote set up. There’s definitely a lot of quirks and issues with the TV still, but the picture quality more than makes up for it.

There are issues running that pc rbg because the Xbox port and tv are not true 2.1 hdmi. It ends up dropping to 4:2:0. You can see it in the TV info menu. Also series x does not do Dolby vision of disc. Again, hdmi port limitation

Got my LG CX 55” first and then my Xbox Series X about a month after launch. Loving every bit of the combo. Agreed...totally worth the premium price. I look at it from the perspective that I will be holding onto both of these things for several years at least and if capitalizing the cost across this timeframe, it makes for a good deal IMHO.
7:11 Is this true? I always read that both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are NOT capable of Dolby Vision on 4K UHD Blu-ray discs, just for streaming services like Netflix.

I've had the series X since Christmas. Paired with the LG SM9000 LED it has HDMI 2.1. 4K at 120HZ looked incredible !!, the wow factor obviously settles down but games still look super crisp and smooth

After months of trying, I was *finally* able to buy a Series X about 10 days ago. Now I just need to choose a TV to go with it. The two displays on my current short-list are the LG CX, and the TCL 6 Series. The CX is clearly "better" at nearly everything, but the TCL is half the price and doesn't risk burn-in. I'd really love to see some content that compares these two TVs in the context of gaming. Bang-for-the-buck vs. best-at-all-cost, perhaps?

Someone’s probably already said this but you can actually create groups of apps and then pin those groups to your Home Screen. That solves the problem of not having those media apps easily accessible.

Oledem a hibákkal együtt is a legjobb, azért, ha vásárlásra szánod el magad néz rá az uj panasonic 2.1hdmi-s modellekre is, ha csak játék miatt veszed lehet az lg nél marad az elöny ,de nem biztos mert ha az elmult 10 év távlatában nézzük akkor az utolsó full hd viera panasonic plazmát még mindig nyugottan odateheted bármelyik oled mellé ,ok kisseb a képátló és nincs 4k hdr ,de a színei és a feketélye zseniális. Szóval LGc1 ha egy picit, picit világosabb és élfrissítésben ,hogy kevésbè ricegne,akkor azt mondanám a világ legjobb tévéje,lehet ha 100, 110 ezerrel olcsóbb lenne még le is nyeltem volna a hibáit ,de közel fèl milláért??? Igy azért hagy kivetni valót,mèg, ha minimálisat is. little tip for your viewers looking to purchase an Xbox. You can set groups on the dashboard, so I personally have all my media apps in one group that is literally one screen down from the dash.
Got both the PS5 and Series X with my LGC9 and the series X is definitely my favourite
