- This magic backyard pond was absolutely insane fishing! From catfish, carp, to even some bass on some unorthodox baits! It was an amazing day of fishing!
Huge shoutout to Marshall for allowing me to get out here again and get some content! He really has this Arizona pond dialed in. The koi carp were a bit spooky this trip, but we still managed one.
The real ticket was the cut bait used to catch the catfish and bass! It was a great time fishing this magic backyard pond. We fished a very diverse way so I hope you all enjoy the angles and different methods used.

@@rodrotan7623 the shad or the spinner? The spinner is a war eagle double willow blade with a white curly tail grub. My buddy caught the shad and pre-cut it for cut bait.

Where do you live. What kind of water do you have access to? We caught bass with spinner baits. There’s something called “match the hatch.” It means figure out what the fish eat in a body of water and then try to use a lure or bait that looks similar. For example, here we have minnows in the water that the bass eat. They are white and silver in color. We coupled a spinner bait with a white plastic fishing minnow and the bass bit. Wishing your pops luck. He’ll get one!

@@faith_ofc1 if you look at the frame @10:16 you can kind of see it. A spinner bait is a wire bait with a jighead/hook on one portion and the “spinner” or spinners on the other portion. The spinners flash as they move through the water and also create vibration. You can fish a spinner as-is, but most fishermen will add a soft plastic lure to the jig/hook portion because it creates a wiggle like a tail and also gives a fish something additional to bite onto. Come back and let us know if he gets one! He can also try using a night crawler worm amongst other things. He shouldn’t be discouraged if he doesn’t get one right away, the spot in this video is rare to be able to catch that many that quickly. Most fishermen are happy to catch one in an outing.

A lot of time grass carp fight harder in my experience. They're not caught as much and just run.
Really? I disagree. Most the ones I hook will give a few short powerful runs then give up quick. Commons or koi on the other hand take longer runs and have more stamina. At least here in AZ
