  • Kashmiri Shaivism is a rich and profound philosophical tradition that emerged in Kashmir around the 8th century. It emphasizes the concept of a divine consciousness present in everything and everyone, known as Shiva. This philosophy explores the nature of reality, the individual self (Shiva) and the universal consciousness, through various texts and practices like meditation, tantra, and rituals. It's known for its non-dualistic approach, focusing on experiencing oneness with the divine.

Swami is very wise, and I enjoyed the insightful explanation of the Sanskrit alphabet. Few are the people who truly understand. Swami is one of them, and he has a delightful and simple way of elucidation the arcane.

I have been perusing advaita Vedanta under his guidance since the last 8/9 ,years. What I have got I don't know but despite having severe health problem, family trouble my life boat is still struggling against huge wave like challanges but still floating.

So I did some research on the first letter and last letter of the Sanskrit and its meaning when put together, 'aha' and found it to mean "yes" or "indeed" The connective of letters to mean "I" is " aham"
If I am misunderstanding this in my limited knowledge, please explain. I share things I learn with those that are curious about how I live life but I want to be accurate in somethings that can be questioned, such as this point I just brought up.
    Thank You

People expect to meditate for a few years read a bunch books and think after a few yrs or decades to have immediate a self realization.
A few rare souls are fortunate to experience instantaneous awakenings. For most it’s many many lifetimes. Once you mature spirituality.you start to expect less and surrender more. That brings more peace.

    Not really! ...
Actually, nothing will work until you're an adhikari, that is, until you prepared your mind to qualify to absorb and realise the teachings.
If you throw seeds in a field that is not prepared well, not tilled, not cleaned of weeds, does not have necessary wetness, minerals, boutiques... Don't expect them to grow...
If you only pursue Shravan Manana, Nididhyasana without developing the Sadhana Chatustaya sufficiently enough. It will not work.
Shravana & Manana might still work if you have the intellectual capacity, and a genuine interest & respect in the teaching.
But Nididhyasana won't work without a ready mind which is pure, calm, & concentrated, which is achieved by the four-fold means.
You need Viveka, Vairagya, Shatasampatti, and a true burning desire to realise Atman.
There are 3 main issues to be tackled - Mala, Vikshepa, Avarana! That is, Purity & Calmness of the mind & that ignorance! Shravana, Manana works on the last one theoretically, and Nididhyasana removes the Naisthik (deep-rooted innate) ignorance! Then what remains is the knowledge.
And Vedanta asks for continuous Svadhyaya (self-enquiry), which means looking and studying yourself, your inner happenings, what is lacking, or what is blocking the progress! Question that or develop that.
Can you focus on the feeling of 'I' for long enough? That's the jada-chetan Granthi! Or do you even sense that?
Is your mind Shama, and are your senses Dama, or do they keep chasing objects of pleasure! Are you inward looking (Uparama)? Can you observe?
Bhakti & meditational practices along with conscious deliberate practices of Vichara, Viveka, Vairagya, Shamadi, Jijnasa..
    # Also note that if you've actually not reached the state of Nididhyasana you won't be able to do it... You won't even understand what that is... Hint: it's not the meditation of the mind - whether done by the means of breath or body, or mantra or eyebrows or holding a thought or anything that you would have done or anyone is helping you to do in the open world outside.
These are very important but help to attaint Sadhana Chatustaya (or purity, Calmness of the mind etc.) after which Shravana & Manana will be effective and you'll naturally move to an automatic Nididhyasana mode inside.
#Hint2 - If you enjoy the Advaita lectures (of this Swami ji, or any other), find them interesting and entertaining, or have questions like how does Vedanta define this or that, or what is Kashmiri Shaivism or other forms, what are the comparisons... Then be advised clearly - you are far from the stage of Nididhyasana. Your Shravana is far from over. And actually not even started! Your Sadhana Chatustaya is far from the lowest threshold!
    Hence, work on that first!

U know many things about this topic!!! can u tell me any mantra or process to increase concentration as it is lacking in me... cannot do meditate for much longer time....

@@debbanisd8206 Who wants to meditate? What goes into meditation? What disturbs that?
What is observing the disturbances, the quietness, and the change from one to another?
Try to find that inside yourself, and you many not need to meditate.
