    I remember in the early 80s when I heard of this move. I was in junior high, they called it the 1990, it sounded so futuristic.

    It's neat how he intentionally starts with the legs split, so he can increase his rotational speed once he's in position by closing them up. Conservation of angular momentum!

    Its crazy when i was still a kid i did the exact same move and not know what it was.. Back it 98' when we use to look for cardboard boxes cut them out place it on the floor and just start breaking... I miss those time man my childhood was the best thing to happen for me. Wish i rewind back time and relive it cause the 90 basically was my signature move. I always find a way to go to it.

  • @Cipherden
    @Cipherden 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Momentum , with your left leg carries you into the spin which is why you move your legs to a slightly closed position to keep you from slowing yourself and being counter productive (might be wrong but that's just based on watching his movements)

      Anything can be turned into a combat move... I guess the question is why would you want to turn this into a combat move and the answer is most probably “coz it would look cool” and if you want to look cool in combat you might wanna check your motivation for what you want to do combat for... also apologies as you asked this 3 years ago

  • @blackzeroness

    no its right over for right hand because if you push out with your left on top your legs turns ccw and your upper body is turning clockwise causing you to stop.(would be good if your going for a sudden freeze effect though). if its right on right your whole body is turning clock wise. after you kind of get it down you can switch to during the wind up instead of having your hand face foward it face backwards for more spin.

  • @ArborPointeMusic
    @ArborPointeMusic 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    your initial kick (that's going sideways) will give you the momentum after you kick up into you handstand. after you get into your handstand with the momentum from your kick close you legs and push with you hand in the direction that you are spinning. Its just like if you were going to do a backflip, to get more momentum you do a tuck, without the tuck the backflip is slower. so again, bringing your legs together after you kick will give you the spin.

  • @blackzeroness
    @blackzeroness 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    like i said on someone else's comment it helps to handstand walk in circles the way you are going to spin. Gets your body more comfortable with doing it. or at least it did with me

    It has to do with the shift of the torque when you switch hands after both hands are on the ground which is why one handed spins are faster and carry more spin than if you have both hands down.

    Clockwise spin = right hand on the ground
    Counterclockwise spin = left hand on the ground
    According to what you have described, I'd say you are right handed, so right hand on the ground. I'm practicing the 90 as well but really can't do much lol xD

  • @MsMi321
    @MsMi321 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i don't have a solid handstand but my teacher says i can easily do it i just have to find the right way to get my legs to spin me from wind up. for some reason from wind up i can do a sudden freeze in a handstand position and hold it easier than if i were to just go for it. ill use your tips and try.

  • @BboyJaySun
    @BboyJaySun 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i have one rotation, trying to get momentum for more. it blew my mind you made that comment about facing away from the mirrors tho. i have the same issue and have to face the back wall everytime :D people joke on it all the time.

  • @blackzeroness
    @blackzeroness 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    for this move its more of the flex that makes you get the spin. if you understand what i mean. your flexing and at the same time stretching your body out and that makes you spin. also a side note i didn't notice this for a while when i was trying to get this but which leg you put on top as your flexing out does matter because if you do it wrong your countering your body motion and you will suddenly stop. right leg on top if your using your right hand and left for left

  • @yvesvirenge7989
    @yvesvirenge7989 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    To people who is right hand (just like me) need to practice by doing a handstand of 3 sec with only your left hand i know is gonna be difficult but is the only way, i try it everyday and now i know how to do it

  • @peril0159

    Easy to get 1, but so hard to get more than 1 spin just like how it so hard to get more than 1 flare. Took me more than six months just to get 10 clean flares. 90's and Flares aren't hard bit intermediate
