RimWorld - The Dirtmole Run | 500% No Pause

- RimWorld played on the hardest difficulty, without pause, against Randy Random, with a theme involving around the Dirtmole Xenotype from Biotech.
This is meant to be a 'FOR FUN' series in which I play a themed run with each of the Xenotypes. In these runs I am only allowed to have colonists of that specific Xenotype. In this case, we're going with Dirtmoles.
We are using a mod for a custom map (Ravine) as well as one addition Ideology to allow us to worship and utilize bugs. Check further below for more info

RULES
Lean into the Xenotypes genes. Use melee and inaccurate weapons. Finish the game by completing the Anomaly ending.
This RimWorld 1.5 Anomaly playthrough is played against Randy Random, on Losing is Fun difficulty bumped up to 500% (the maximum).

I actually love it when mods become vanilla, I was so hyped about wall lights in 1.5
Sat here and watched all 9.5 hours out of this, straight onto the next. It's actually fantastic viewing it whilst playing rimworld myself.
The whole stream this Typhren guy was like "how can I make this about me?"
3 weeks later watching this and it was just so cringe the whole time. It bugged me.
Mountain bases are my favorite so happy to see you doing one. I like tunnel ones where I build around the bug tunnels
Very nice run! about the potential Highmate run I think the biggest challenge isn't that they are non-violent, but that they fall in love VERY easily. I did a Highmate mechanitor run that went quite smoothly, until I received the empire quest to get my colonist her first noble rank. The empire guy I rescued was there for a few minutes, that was enough for him to flirt with his host and they bonded immediately. I had no other choice but arrest him to prevent him to leave, making my colony ennemy of the empire at a very early stage. That turned to be a very nice story between a nerdish Highmate and a noble Neanderthal turned deserter to follow his love, but WELL it teached me the hard way how careful you need to be with single Highmates.
This is shaping up to be my new favorite run (favorite run on the citadel /s)
I hear you're a bit of a masochist, try a bloodlust waster only run and only wear what you pull from the corpses of your enemies.
That would really suit the theme too, and the play style could naturally develop throughout the run, might even make it worth antagonizing the empire

Interesting to hear his take on cooking out of 20. Considering it is essentially the same thing in real life. If 1 level = 1 year and a person spent all day making rice. By year 20 they would indeed be an expert :).

That is a very intersisting map I'd like to play for sure.
I don't remember but maybe you can change the lighting on the lights? Originally it is a tinted yellowish colour, you can change it to white bright colour? I found that it's clearer to see when I'm playing.
i think you can change light colors after you researched advanced lights
I think it would be interesting to try the Highmates with the Hospitality mod.
Honestly, i just think the game has been going downhill ever since they nerfed square rooms.

Yeah I think he gets frustrated with a bunch of stupid questions and then often gets baited to answer even more stupid questions.
It's tough though because he doesn't want to ignore his viewera but sometimes it's legitimately hard to tell if someone is just stupid or joking.
Pretty sure he's just getting trolled at this point. He cares too much and seems worn out lately. Hope he gets better.

There was a question about other types of "moles" than a dirt mole. Would be nice to create a custom xenotype called "Nerdmole"

You can download my mod "xenotype followers". In that mod you can configure what xenotype will join from rituals
I don't care for anamoly dlc at all. To me it just doesn't fit the "rimworld" theme based on vanilla and the other 3 dlcs.

It sucks and it breaks everything.
CE makes combat significantly easier once you get past the short learning curve. Adam isn't looking to make the game easier

It's a joke. An inside meme. If you thought I was actually upset by it then I don't know what to tell you. The person that said it knew it and so did I. You may be jumping to weird conclusions from something you don't know about. This happens in pretty much every single playthrough (mountain or not).
Like 3-4 years ago I turned bugs off for a single run and the joke still persists, and then I show that person something with an insect if I can.
You can even go to the part where the 30 hives are on screen while I am just sitting there looking at them and it happens again. Someone asks if bugs are on and I 'joke' about it.
If you are not being serious and are talking about when the person thought I was mad but I wasn't (and I was confused they thought so), and then asked if others thought I sounded mad, well then you got me / tricked me here I guess lol, but I didn't see a /s or such so no way to know if you're serious or not.
