Yeah I shouldn't have put those too together, I saw that and meant to go back but forgot. You're totally right, it was mentioned in that book with the 260 also, but Etti from At Star's End like you said.
I've been looking for the ship (preferably a freighter) for me and my team in head cannon and this is it. I didn't want to recycle the millennium falcon like most fans. I was looking at corellian freighters tho.
This ship looks sweet. I'm not all that familiar with the YV series other than the YV-666. I'm much more familiar with the YT series. I'd really love to see something about the YT-2000. That's my personal favorite of the YT series. The only thing I've ever seen on it has been on Wookiepedia. While I love the Falcon and the Outrider I just can't get over having the cockpit on the side. The asymmetry of it just bugs me.
Never heard of this ship design before. The front of the ship does look like a Gozanti Class Cruiser. This ship does it should’ve came with extra shields, extra firepower like proton torpedoes, & extra engines for probably a faster top atmospheric speed.
I don't know if it's ever been discussed, but why are all these "freighters" so small? Look at the ones featured in this episode, they're only a few times larger than fighters. Why aren't they designed to be larger, at least to the size of corvettes, if not larger? It seems very cost inefficient to have a bunch of little ships flying around instead of few, larger cargo vessels.
Large cargo haulers while most favourable on cost-effect comparison have one issue - they visit only major ports, so in order to deliver to customer elsewhere you need smaller ships like Action series freighters. Ships like YT-1300 or YV-260 have their niche in courier services (smuggling included)
actualy i can draw some real life conclusions for why smaller is better, Kuba is right large ships require large ports, hence the largest container ships can only visit a handful of ports and from those ports they ship out the containers on mid size to small ships. another reason is costs, a large ship cost a bundle and it takes decades to pay off the ship from your profits, and the older a ship gets the more maintainace it requires and that means less profits, the technology required to run massive ships is also very expensive to maintain, on the contrary smaller ships (100 meters ish) dont need two story sized main engines and are much cheaper and easier to maintain. Fuel consumption is another reason, massive engine = massive fuel consumption now a small ship say 5000 tons of capacity (Bulk) takes only a couple of years to pay off (I have worked on several and the company kept selling them every few years to buy in a new one) then i can just point out that a small ship is cheaper to buy and cheapish to maintain so perfect for an independant Captain, while he might not get rich he can make a comfortable living more so if he smuggles (unless he ejects a shipment of jabbas spice)
Also not every cargo is big. Small, high value cargos would be perfect for these ships. Remember, they have about the same cargo capacity as a semi-truck today.
Think of them not as ships but as a diesel truck. The cargo moves in by big bulk ships, to the larger planets. It gets offloaded to a smaller ship, in space, and they head to the smaller outpost worlds. Nowhere is too far to go to make a profit. Han Solo is Bj and the Bear ... in space.
I have no idea why it was in my recommended but I clicked it and didn't expect to see the render of the ship that I made appear in the first second :) I actually uploaded it under the name of Etti Light cruiser because a friend wanted me to make that model and that was the only reference I had.
How about a video that compares all YV series freighters and determines the overall best one, best value for $ one, best combat variant and best smuggling variant (we all know who wins there :D)
I love your videos and I don’t want to be a huge dong but there is a error at 1:20 where it says the tie and yt-1300 have different kph speeds, but they have the same mph speeds. I just wanted to let you know. Goodbye.
Very posh, if it had polished Hull I would believe it would be naboo or nabian I believe the plural. But my All time favourite is the YT-2400 with some upgrades.
Can you do a video on the torpedo spheres not very well known ship and even if it is known not known well I only knew it existed from thrawn’s revenge mod
Well for a j-type star skiff you would pay 5 millions, it is enough to buy 3 chargers c70, or a cr90 corvett in a military configuration and you would still have 900000 left
Maybe you could do a video covering the republic military police shuttle showen In starwars the clone wars. More specific season 5 ep 19 8mins into the episode
but what is the difference between this ship and the etti light freighter? i googled it but i got the exact same images used for this ship on this vid...
Aha thx i havent heard it clearly enough but that is just me since your vids are fine🙂. Keep up the great work and maybe add like 3d models if these are available...
Great video. The Etti Lighter was introduced in HAN SOLO AT STAR'S END back in the late '70's.....

@@MetaNerdzLore No problem. Main reason I remember it was from reading the novel....on its release date.
Back in the 70s I was in a very famous tv show
seekertwo1 I just read that
@@insertmemorableusernameher6795 What is it then.
Dam that ship is real nice. I love it
I like how every ship in Star Wars can be a "hero ship", also can the power of loopholes beat the high ground?
Space
"Only if the defendant's Lawyer has the high ground" jk
Never heard of it before, but now I’m in love. What a badass looking ship!
The cockpit makes it look alive with a demon inside or somebody turned the lights too damn high.
Stephen Lutz Doom Guy is probably chainsawing some demons in there!
@Darth Hoovy That cockpit is going to have to change the color from yellow to red with all the carnage.
Its the doomslayer duh
Another informational MetaNerds video keep it up!

Who thinks this ship should get a Lego set
Fuck yeah it should but in my opinion i reckon it would be pricey
All YT ships should have LEGO sets
@@mistermadmachine6311 I agree
It would be interesting, but I think the ship is too obscure to sell well
YES.

But bigger ones require a bigger crew and lots of space at *space* ports.

I would love to hear your top ten ships of specific classes (fighters, bombers, corvettes, capital ships, ect)

Very Cool Ships :)
How many dewbacks a dewback can haul ?

Star wars ships can carry A LOT of Dewbacks.
Nice work on this video.
All these ships make me want a Star Wars game like elite dangerous
What's Greedo's ship called?
MetaNerdz needs to do more videos on corellian freighters. Like the VCX-820.
This is a pretty cool looking ship.
You have The same mph for the Tie fighter and the falcon so either the miles per hour are wrong or the kilometers per hour is wrong
Favorite alien
Very posh, if it had polished Hull I would believe it would be naboo or nabian I believe the plural.
But my All time favourite is the YT-2400 with some upgrades.
YV Series Ship Designer: *hits blunt* "Yo, what if we got bricks and stuck a bunch of engines on them?"
I like this ship more than the rest of the YT series
I love these ship videos, can you please do the Resistance I-TS?
Hey! I love your content bro!!!
Can you do a video on the torpedo spheres not very well known ship and even if it is known not known well I only knew it existed from thrawn’s revenge mod
Speed error 1.11 tie and millennium Falcon same mph but different kph, otherwise love your content
Nice ship !
My bounty hunter OC has a heavily modified YV-260 named the Crimson Gargoyle.
Whats the fastest ship in atmo? and what is the most expensive non-military ship ie yachts?
I wouldn't be suprised if most expensive smaller ships would be from naboo
@@wilkor-lc7ox that or one of the handcrafted one of ships

You forgot about the fact that it looks quiet dope. ^^
Where are you getting all your dewbacks from?
YT series is good series
I wonder what is the oldest ship design that's still viable and in use around 0 BY ?
I think It would either be the YT 1300 Freighter (like the Millenium Falcon) or Z-95 Headhunter.
What a nice ship
another great video as always. Can you cover the Ycaqt droid cargo ship?
Can we get a vid on the rest of the yv s
Yeah that's actually on the list
Love it :)
Do the Wayfarer class freighter!
Can you do a video on a imperial super star destroyer?
Can someone please do a vid on the CEC Action IV bulk freighter (like the Wild Karrde)...Please????
Was this available before the clone wars?

It says on screen what the difference is, the size, it also had some different weapons
Aha thx i havent heard it clearly enough but that is just me since your vids are fine🙂. Keep up the great work and maybe add like 3d models if these are available...
Anyone have an internal map of this ship? Thinking about adding it to a campaign I'm running.
It looks nice but a bit undergunned. If it gets released for the FFG Star Wars, I can see it being upgraded with side turrets or munitions.
I learned some rodian from swbf (2015) noto badi toki o tî bo lol
I think that i found my ship for my personal heaven.
The bow and cockpit strongly resembles the Ebon Hawk from KotOR...
I don't understand... can you put its size in Senates, please?
plz do imperium ultra super star destroyer
This needs a LEGO set
Reminds me of the Gozanti TBH.
Looks similar to the gozanti
So it's a very balanced ship
In the best CEC design part it says yt 260 not yv 260
It would be feckin lit to see a ship like that carpet bombing something
If it's faster than a isd in hyperspace it's good
First also good video
Happy now?
Restás Mario why you mad
Tie fighter is pretty damn pricey for what you get.
Bossk is the only guy sketchy enough to own a YV- 666. 666 bruh
Whoever at CEC designed that may have been compensating for something...
No dislikes yet!!
Reminds me of Metaknight's ship.
Looks kinda like the gozanti
A great anti pirate ship.... pirates hey look a great ship to be a pirate with
trade ships
the life blood of many many galactic compenys and empires.
It looks similar to argon mercury.
This would be a great ship to see in star citizen
Ha last joke on all of ya
Looks kinda similoar ti Endeavor from star citizen.
YV-292! Not YT-292! Just saying!
Guys, I have ligma
She's pretty.
