I bought a preowned 2014 Ford Explorer 3 months ago. Drove it but had no idea how to use most of the system. The vehicle got flooded in Houston and then totaled! I have just bought a replacement 2014 Explorer and your video just helped me soon much. I now can use all the wonderful luxurious functions available on my SUV. Thank you so much for taking the time, which the first Ford Dealer did not even attempt to do.... and that after I purchased the vehicle Cash. God Bless you
This is great!! I just bought a 2014 Fusion SE with MyFordTouch yesterday & was a bit overwhelmed. This guy is a fantastic instructor. He ought to be a teacher or something. I think I'll be an expert in a couple of days thanks to this tutorial. Thanks sooo much Mitchell. Too bad I don't live in Alabama, looks like a great Ford Dealership going on down there.
I’ll be picking up my 2015 Ford F-150 Xlt Sport Friday and it has this software. This demo was perfect to get me situated and comfortable in my truck. Coming from a 2005 Ford Explorer, there’s a lot to learn. No more tape decks lol. Thanks for a great video! -Matt from NY
Thanks for a great demo of the MyTouch system. I just picked up my 2014 Fusion last week and have been playing with it but still learned some things from your demo. Also was nice seeing how SERVICES works with MyTouch with Nav. Had SERVICES in my 2012 Fusion but honestly didn't use much. One thing on radio I found the other day that you didn't touch on was in OPTIONS, base settings etc. Their are three buttons, DRIVERS SEAT - ALL SEATS - REAR SEATS that directs radio speaker intensity to those locations specifically. Really was dramatic and made noticeable difference in how speakers worked by location. Thanks again, George in NY
Bought a 2013 Taurus Limited just last week and while I consider myself to be moderately tech-savvy, this video was very informative and went through several features that I didn't even knew existed. MyFord Touch is a great infotainment system once you get used to it. Great tutorial.
good job Mitch. O, overlook negative comments, I am 70 now, I have friends and acquaintances that are no longer with us because they too thought they knew every thing. I had the 2010 Ford sync and am getting the 2015 next week, the nav and touch systems have changed, I will, with your help, be able to easily adapt to the changes. Thanks for your time and effort.
Just bought a 2014 Explorer Sport last night and your video is awesome! Thank you so much! I got the quick and dirty from my Ford dealer last night. This covers everything I need to know. I think I will enjoy using the MyFord Touch system now!
thanks Mitchell for an excellent demo on MY TOUCH... just got my new 2014 FUSION 2 days ago was ery intimidated by the MY TOUCH you made it as simple as it gets to use this system... again.. THANK-YOU
Very good information . I was at my dealer today and he showed me how to use POI to get directions to the location I wanted, I do not believe you touch on that and it is an easy way for a beginner to get started. One thing I did not know was you could talk to an operator and I will check that out.
Wow, that was some seriously detailed video and explanation. I've been searching for some of these instructions for a week since I've bought my car, I'm so glad I found this! Thank you for taking the time to create this!
This was VERY informative. I really appreciate the time and effort. Especially when it is very difficult most times to find a salesperson that has the knowledge to explain the in car technology nowadays. I was hoping to find more about the AV controls that I saw next to the SD card slot. If possible, please provide some information as to how those ports may be used. Thanks again!
Thanks for posting this video. The wife and I have watched it a few times, preparing us for our new 2013 Ford Edge Sport we Special Ordered. The 22" rims and the 3.7L 305hp was our selling points. We researched all the crossovers between $27k-$45k and the Edge Sport was best for us. The Chevy Equinox, The Subaru Outback, and the Mazda CX-9 were close 2nd places.
If you have MyFord Touch, there are two ways to delete a previously paired phone. This is, in our opinion, the easiest way to do this... Click on the "Phone" tab on the top left > Then settings on the bottom left > Bluetooth Devices > Select the phone you want > Delete Device.
Any time you make any changes to the music on the Flash Drive, it will reindex. No way around that. The only way I have found to reduce the number of times the vehicle "Re-indexes" the music, is to NEVER unplug or wiggle the flash drive. Even then we have found that it will still reindex... That is why I recommend you stream your music through your smartphone using the "Bluetooth Audio" feature. It seems to work much better that USB audio. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much Mitchell. This was an amazing tutorial. Ford needs to include this with the purchase of their vehicles with Mytouch. I just purchased a new 2013 Escape. I was very frustrated with my system, especially the navigation. I am a Realtor in the Houston area and bought the navigation to assist me in my home searches. I was having to use my phone GPS because I didn't know exactly how to use my new navigation system. Now I do thanks to you. Thank you again.
Yes. You can have up to 12 different phones paired to the MyFord Touch system. Similar to having 12 different drivers. Only one of them can be connected at a time (only one phone can be active at any given time). The idea behind that is that there is only one person driving the car at any given time. Hope this helps.
+85ZingoGTR Consumer Reports, and most of the other complainers are looking at the *first* generation of MyFordTouch -- Ford has released at least 4 software updates (that I'm aware of) since the MyFordTouch system was first released in the 2010 model year. Not to mention the hardware updates that have been released with subsequent new-model vehicles. And of course, very few of the complainers have bothered to go back and re-review the updated system. I have a 2014 Ford Focus Titanium with the newest MyFordTouch hardware and software, and I have absolutely NO problems with it, just like the reviewer in this video. The newest generation is really a fine system. Not *perfect*, but FAR better than it used to be.
We would suggest updating your system if you haven't already done so. There have been a couple of updates released. All of them are designed to speed up the system. Contact your local Ford Dealership, and they can pull up what version you have using the VIN. If you have all of the current updates, I would do a master reset. Message us back if you need help on doing that. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately, I have had that problem too... Anytime Sync 'thinks' there have been any changes with your music library, it trys to reindex the music so that it has voice commands for all of your songs. The only way I have been able to reduce the number of times it indexes is try never unplugging the iPod. I personally got so frustrated that I just put all of my music on my smart phone and streamed the music through Bluetooth audio... That feature works much better.
Thanks for the great video! We just ordered a 2014 Super Duty F250 XLT Lariat, and it will have the My Ford Touch System. Your video will help teach us how to use it. I will say that we're very impressed with all the features we're getting. Our sells rep. in Guthrie Oklahoma let me do a test drive, and I we fell in love with the truck, and placed an order on the spot. I'm sure I'll post more here in the near future. Again, Thank you for the great video ! You Know Your Stuff, Thats for sure.
You did a fantastic job narrating the video and it was very informative. We are planning to trade our 2013 Santa Fe next year and the Ford Explorer looks like it will be our next vehicle.
Excellent tutorial video, highly recommend watching. I particularly liked being able to switch different sections by topic. This is very well done, Ford should use this as training for new owners. Thanks for taking time to create!
Great video. Thank you for posting. I'm new to the Ford product. I worked for a competitor for years. This video was very informative. It helped me better understand the Ford MyTouch system. I will still need to play with the system more to become more familiar with the system, but this video definitely provided me with great useful information!!
I have an iPhone 5. When I stream audio via Bluetooth Audio, you can't get the album cover to show up... I have not tried or tested with any other phones. The only time the album art shows up is when you plug and play the device through the USB.
This was a much needed video and thank you for sharing! You are great at explaining things and I hope you put more videos out. I wish ford would bring about a better manual or a sync website that explains as well as you do.
Lumbar Supports provide lower back support to help one keep a healthy arched back posture, reduce lower back pain and discomfort, decreasing pressure on the spine and promoting proper posture. Sit in your vehicle, press or turn the nob to activate the lumbar support, You will feel it press in on the lower spine. I use this system all the time, and it helps my back. Give it a try....
great vid...I have this same year and model pickup and I live in Canada and my question is when its -20 and you start your pickup with the remote start is it possible to set the cab heat and fan speed to be on full tilt without having to go out and put the keys in the pickup to get what I want on them cold mornings? is there a way to preset it? Thanks
I just received an updated navigation sd card and nowhere on Ford's website could I find a photo or video of where to insert the card. Also enjoyed your instructions on other features - very clear directions! Also, was not aware of the Sync Services feature. Thanks!
I haven't figured out where my card slot is yet either - but I've only driven the car home from the dealership and read the manual. I know where the USB ports are so perhaps the card slot is in that location. There is MUCH to learn.
Just got my 2015 focus ST. I cant believe how many buttons and function the interior has, alot more then the benz or bmw, young guy like me can figure them out from this one hr video but for older folks will barely touch anything lol
The one question I was looking for you don't cover. Lol. The A/V in jacks inside the dash cover (red, white and yellow) does that allow you to hook up like a DVD player and watch it on the screen? Really kind of confused why that was included
I can't figure out how to turn up volume on he lady giving directions in navigation. Regular volume buttons don't change volume. Thank you. Enjoyed the video.
Start at the home screen. It's the quadrant screen. Just to the right of the "home" icon is a gear icon. Press the gear. That will take you to another screen. Look for another gear icon which is "settings". You'll find a system volume control. Just press the + sign and it will increase the volume. Each press of the + sign will produce a sound so you can adjust the level to where you like it. When you're finished press the home icon. That's it.
Thank you for doing this video. I was wondering if you could tell me how to use 'TAG" for iTunes. Do I need to have my ipod plugged into the car? I have not seen the "TAG" button come up on my entertainment screen when I am listening to the radio. I do have it turned "on' in the options. Thank you for your time
Bluetooth features are still limited. It doesn't show playlists and it sometimes doesn't remember the previous pairing. Not sure if the latter is a MFT or smartphone problem. But, I appreciate the video. Nice job!
It remembers my pairing so each and every time. Maybe it is your device that is not 100% blue tooth specs are not in order and I have used my iphone 5s on it just fine.
this was very helpful and helped me figure out that the SC Card was not included in the purchase of my New Ford Edge. I have contacted the company tho and I am confident they will send the SD card to me for the 6 month Free service for the Direction Portion of the Navigation part of Serius .....the Tutorial was VERY helpful....

I just bought a $54,000 truck and was not provided a tutorial anywhere near this comprehensive. This is an amazing video. Thank you for all the help.
you too!
Jesse Huerta You can find it online. Your dealer should have created an account for you on owner dot ford dot com. If not go tell them to do it

The controls for the Multi Contoured seats are on the seat, next to the Lumbar Support, and power seats... I will send you the link to the video...
2020 viewer! Just bought a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium and this video is SO helpful! Thank you.
Thanks! Hopefully we can help... What kind of vehicle? Ford Taurus with Multicontour Seats with Active Motion?
Good video! I've been using MyFord Touch for 5 years and just learned a lot more about it.

You did a fantastic job narrating the video and it was very informative. We are planning to trade our 2013 Santa Fe next year and the Ford Explorer looks like it will be our next vehicle.

Very informative. You took the time to fully show every aspect of the My Ford Touch system. Thanks for you hard work.
Thank you so much for this video. I purchased a used vehicle and the Ford manual and website was USELESS!!!
So without further ado, I will leave my comment. Thanks for the tutorial.
😂

You can voice activate your playlists using the USB feature. To use the touch controls, you must be stopped.
Superb Information - much appreciated by new owners
Good Video! Had no idea Microsoft designed and coded the Ford Touch system. Much easier to use than the Mercedes Benz system.
Idk why but I love the sound it makes when you touch a button on the screen
Great video ? Do I need an SD card in order to set my compass on a 2012 Ford Edge
Does it say it needs a sd card or does it say Information in the top right corner?
@@zzman5306 mine says information. Can I still use a SD card or how do I go about it
3:44 did you say "Hever forbid"?

Very good information. My dealership didn't know anything about the MFT/sync system.
Love the video! I placed my order for a ford lighting!
great video! It was so informative, and so helpful, more than the owner's manual! thank you so much!
I just received an updated navigation sd card and nowhere on Ford's website could I find a photo or video of where to insert the card. Also enjoyed your instructions on other features - very clear directions! Also, was not aware of the Sync Services feature. Thanks!

This was a very helpful and informative video. I love the sync in my Ford Edge. I have a factory installed Sony stereo
Very informative, regardless of the version it is a good start, I take delivery of our new Edge next week, very excited. JS from Ontario, Thanks
Thank you for this informative and helpful tutorial. How do you choose an alternate route through my services? I do not have the navigation.
Just got my 2015 focus ST. I cant believe how many buttons and function the interior has, alot more then the benz or bmw, young guy like me can figure them out from this one hr video but for older folks will barely touch anything lol
Great video on sync my ride. Thanks Ford should hire you for their home page.
Thank you so much! Glad you found it useful!
The one question I was looking for you don't cover. Lol. The A/V in jacks inside the dash cover (red, white and yellow) does that allow you to hook up like a DVD player and watch it on the screen? Really kind of confused why that was included
Thanks for your tutorial my question is can I still play my home DVD's on the screen by using line-in on the Entertainment in the new 2015 Escape?
Enjoyed the video but does the my ford touch have an informational display in front of the driver in the gauge cluster area?
I can't figure out how to turn up volume on he lady giving directions in navigation. Regular volume buttons don't change volume. Thank you. Enjoyed the video.
Start at the home screen. It's the quadrant screen. Just to the right of the "home" icon is a gear icon. Press the gear. That will take you to another screen. Look for another gear icon which is "settings". You'll find a system volume control. Just press the + sign and it will increase the volume. darnoldie Thank you!!!! I haven't figured out how to do this.
Thank you for doing this video. I was wondering if you could tell me how to use 'TAG" for iTunes. Do I need to have my ipod plugged into the car? I have not seen the "TAG" button come up on my entertainment screen when I am listening to the radio. I do have it turned "on' in the options.

I think it was very professional I can't wait to see more great job
Bluetooth features are still limited. It doesn't show playlists and it sometimes doesn't remember the previous pairing. Not sure if the latter is a MFT or smartphone problem. But, I appreciate the video. Nice job!
It remembers my pairing so each and every time. Maybe it is your device that is not 100% blue tooth specs are not in order and I have used my iphone 5s on it just fine.
this was very helpful and helped me figure out that the SC Card was not included in the purchase of my New Ford Edge. I have contacted the company tho and I am confident they will send the SD card to me for the 6 month Free service for the Direction Portion of the Navigation part of Serius .....the Tutorial was VERY helpful....
the SD card button below the USB button in the entertainment window. Will that load your navigation card ?
If you will go to our channel, and search for 2013 Ford Taurus SHO, at 3:21 we show you where the controls are...
Great Video. Wish there were more like it with more detail.
Great video! Very informative. Thank you for putting this together. Do you know: (1) does the music player audio still play through some speakers while a phone call is broadcast through other speaker(s)? Also, (2) with the Rear Entertainment System, does the music player audio still play through some speakers while a phone call is broadcast through the rear speakers or headphones? Thanks again!

Good, thorough tutorial! Thanks!
Very informative! VERY helpful! Thank you SO much for posting Mitchell!
any chance to provide a way to keep MyTouch to STOP re-indexing the flashdrive. Mine does 3-4 times a week sometimes twice a day. The system is nice and has many good features that I do like and use. But the flashdrive to music seems to have a bug.
