Very informative video. Man, do I learn something new every day. Thank you very much. I liked your answer to "Who's your least favorite sax player on TH-cam? - Myself." Good and safe answer. I'll remember that answer if I were asked that. No offense to you. You are great!
Jack - Thanks for these videos. I learn fascinating things from you. Your high praise of the King Super 20 is great to hear. I play a 1953 King Zephyr Tenor. I love its sound and especially its boomy lower range. It’s a little leaky but I live in rural Hawaii - on Hawaii Island - where we have no sax repair shops. I hope to take it to the mainland on a visit to see my granddaughter and visit a sax tech. What are the main differences between my sweet sounding Zephyr and a Super 20? I also own a Yamaha 475T which is a bit easier to play but sounds amazingly boring as compared to the Zephyr. Thanks for your feedback.
Hey Andy! Glad you enjoyed the video!! Honestly besides the key work and aesthetics the KS20 and Zephyr are twins. The bore etc is essentially the same :)
I got teachers that are older and don’t play with gear yet, they know Boston sax is legit. Crazy how jack is redesigning the game with no business degree.
@@bostonsaxshop it was good enough for Art Pepper, Albert Ayler, Jackie McLean, Koichi Matsukaze, Marion Brown, David S. Ware, Jemeel Moondoc and more to use for a while or longer. I have a 1959 SDA and I use to say I wanted a Mark VI (brainwashing) until I realized many of my favorites used an SDA. I quit wanting a Mark VI. I bought a Senzo in 2015 and I love it too. Not to dis Selmers or any other sax, a lot of my faves play them too. I just think for me Buffet has the sound I prefer and they don't get mentioned much. But then the prices would go up also.
Jack for president!
🤣
We need more of these
On it!
Thanks, Jack. And you look dashing, as usual. 😉
You’re too kind!
Thank you Jack! Great series…always enjoy listening and learning from you.
So glad you’re enjoying it! I’m having a blast making them haha 🎷🎷

The SDA has straight line keys, so it’s quite different than the MK6. The SDA does have great intonation (better than the VI).
