Danny Elfman (the singer) wrote so many great movie soundtracks. He was also the singing voice of Jack Skellingtion while Chris Sarandon (Prince Humperdink from Princess Bride) did the speaking voice.
I've been to more Oingo Boingo concerts than any other group combined. They were very popular in Southern California in the 80's and early 90's. Danny Elfman is a fan of the macabre and most of the lyrics have a dark undertone yet the melody is upbeat. They are my all time favorite band and have their full album portfolio.
On the subject of the keytar (keyboard-guitar), keyboardists such as Edgar Winter, George Duke, Herbie Hancock and Gary Wright used it in the 70s, but it's particularly noticeable here because bassist John Avila is relatively small in stature and the instrument appears large. He has always had a great stage presence, and on this track live he plays the bass part on the keyboard. You might also like to react to ‘Grey Matter’, taken from the same concert at the Ritz in New York in 1985.
You gals need to hear "Just Another Day", "Grey matter", "Not My Slave", "Stay", "We close our Eyes", "No One Lives Forever" and "Goodbye Goodbye". Preferably the live versions 🔥🔥
I'm originally from Orange county C.A. and when I was a teenage Nevermore, I used to fo and see them every Halloween at Irvine meadows in Irvine C.A. probably one of the greatest concerts I saw growing up, especially on Halloween. Also my birthday and Danny Elfman's are the same May 29th. Keep reacting to them, they are so awesome!🌹🌹🌹
The lead singer (Danny Elfman) wrote the music for many of the Tim Burton movies as well as writing the theme music for The Simpsons cartoon! Oingo Boingo also did a brilliant song called 'Stay', worth watching the official video for that one
Danny Elfman the Lead Singer does all the music for most of Tim Burton's movies, for example Nightmare Before Christmas,, and does the starring voice on it. He composes the music for all of these movies en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_compositions_by_Danny_Elfman
It’s such a shame the 3 of you didn’t react to a-ha’s the sun always shines on tv live from South America , mum and grand mum missed morten’s power singing !
How can you call it a typical 80’s song they have a horn section. Side note The lead singer Danny Elfman did scores for Beetlejuice, Batman, Spider-Man, Caroline, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Wednesday and many more.
If you're Gen X and a smartass, you want this song played at whatever remembrance of you happens after you're long past being able to be impressed or happy.
"Reminds me of a typical 80s song"... that's weird becase who sounded like Oingo Boingo? I get it might have ak 80s sound becase of some instruments... like Dexys Midnight Runners and some other British bands also had some ska elements... but... no one really did what Boingo did.. so that makes no sense to me.
yeah OB was so unique. but then 80s music did have a lot more instruments (than just a bunch of samples) so maybe she meant that. So many instruments! Brass even!
I saw Oingo Boingo first on the Gong Show, when nobody knew who they were. Here they are still playing after all these years. This song is definitely the best Halloween party song. 🎃 👻

Danny Elfman has written the music to 50% of the films you've watched. That seems like a lot but my cat swears his math is accurate.
One of those rare groups that sound great in both STUDIO version and LIVE version.
true. Green Day is also like that.

A Halloween jam every year, this song is still a banger.🎃
I’ve been a Boingo fan since ‘82 and my three daughters are also Boingo fans. Proud dad.
Me too! Maybe I slammed into you at the Whiskey buddy 🖤
If you hear Danny's speaking voice, you can see that he is like a lot of pop singers that do tenor for work but are really baritones.
You gals need to hear "Just Another Day", "Grey matter", "Not My Slave", "Stay", "We close our Eyes", "No One Lives Forever" and "Goodbye Goodbye". Preferably the live versions 🔥🔥
Oingo Boingo were in the movie Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield.

This. This is why I miss the 80's so much. When music was not only good, it was also fun.
Always heard this song played at countless Halloween parties while growing up.

Another thing Lead singer Danny Elfman is the singing voice of Jack Skellington in “THE Nightmare Before Christmas.”
I believe they call that instrument a Keytar.
Danny wrote The Simpsons theme song! Literally one of the most famous songs of all time and few people know that Danny wrote it

Oingo Boingo - Private life \m/
That is the infamous Danny Elfman singing. You probably have seen his name on many, many different movie soundtracks.
It's called a Keytar. Great reaction!

Watch Frankenstein by Edger Winter Group for a keyboard guitar
Danny Elfman has been staying busy thanks to one of his biggest fans, Tim Burton.
Oingo Boingo's music genre is New Wave, which became popular in the late 1970's along with Punk Rock music.
Not new wave, alternative rock. I did looked it up
@@ravenfiresantana6782 New wave and alternative rock are both listed on different webpages.
