It is very kind to help your neighbors. Rare people are kind enough to share their time consistently with others--tending a garden takes time--you are not only tending the garden, you are tending to people! You obviously have a lot of love in your heart for others. ❤ Have you ever tried eggplant in a greenstalk? I have some extra starts and I am very tempted to try it!

@@HangingwithKim Since I have 3 extra plants and really like to eat eggplant, I decided to go ahead and plant them on the bottom tier. I will let you know how it goes at the end of the season! Take care!

I am grateful for all the advice. I've started with GS this year and have one leaf set up with 4 tiers of strawberries, then mix pak choi, lettuce and pansies. I started my second leaf yesterday with dwarf peas and I have some tomatoes, dwarf marigolds and more pansies. The I have two original planters and I'm doing mix of cabbages, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers beans and flowers. I'm so excited

Absolutely beautiful! You mentioned in a different GS video that your fertilize every 10 days or so. Can you share what fertilizer you use? Do you have to use different kinds for different veggies? I'm wondering about fertilizer for peas particularly. Thank you for a great video!❤

Collards. I’ve never tried them but would like to. I know you mentioned a few varieties in some of your other videos, what is your favorite?

I have my first Greenstalk ordered (inventors bundle) and on the way! I plan to plant micro dwarf tomatoes and peppers in the bottom tiers. I’ve wondered though, you have the micro dwarf on the top, doesn’t the height of the dwarf varieties grow taller and past the smaller plants and shade out the micro dwarf varieties? I wondered if the micros would be better on the bottom below the taller ones so they aren’t ‘hidden’, or do the taller ones hang over the micros at the bottom more than they would ‘hide’ them at the top? (Does that make sense?) Have you tried it that way?
I understand what you're asking. In order for the dwarf tomatoes to be taller than the micro dwarf tomatoes that I have in the top tier, they would have to be more than 20 inches tall just to get to the bottom of the top tiers container. Because the pockets are every other one (staggerd), so you don't have to worry about the plants from below until you go down two levels. So that's 20 inches plus the height of the micro dwarf tomatoes, which is another 12 inches or so, so your plants would have to be more than 30 inches tall to even be a problem, I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for sharing! What names of everbearing strawberries are growing in your greenstalks? I planted all everbearing in a greenstalk and some of them are not coming back. Should I order and replant as well? Everything is the same, same seller, same soil, same greenstalks = all strawberries - some plants already producing and some look dormant. Not sure what I've done wrong. My other greenstalks; beans, herbs, tomatoes are doing great! I like growing many of my herbs in 2 greenstalks for easy kitchen/grill patio access. The herbs also seem to grow better in the greenstalks than elsewhere - basil, thyme, chives, oregano, marjoram, etc.
Hi Kim! What is your low night time temperature? I’m in 6a MI and still dipping into the 40’s. I’m ready to plant my veggies! I do have a frost cover I can use. What are your thoughts?
Hello, and thanks for the question. Your cool season crops can take those 40° temperatures. They'll actually love it, so broccoli, Kale collard's cauliflower, cabbage, Kahrabi. All of those things are great to go in the ground right now. Your summer plants, typically, I try not to plant if my temperatures are below 45° but if I'm averaging greater than 50° nights, I would go ahead and play It anyway. I hope this helps

What kind of support trellis for tomatoes? Please describe....
I use the green stalk trellising or little plastic stakes. Those are my preferred choices for my greenstalk vertical planters
How many Greenstalk pockets does it take to grow lettuce for 1 person for a years supply
I would have at least 12 pockets going at all times at different stages of development and if you eat many different types of lettuce, some take longer to get to a full size than others, so keep that in mind as you're thinking about succession planning.
Do you have to take your tiers apart to place the support system on? I had a terrible time trying to get the supports on and had to take my tiers apart.
I just put my support system in. It poured down rain so I was motivated to get it done quickly. lol. It comes in pieces that just snap on. It’s really easy.
