When a young lad finds no love in the areas they crave, but they then find it in the areas they know they shouldn’t be in... is it really even a question why lads turn to crime etc? Not talking about all, but a good majority of people involved in crime deserved a bit of love at the right time and never got it, got the utmost respect for you Ben.. got a great head on your shoulders.

This is what people are finally starting to understand...I know some good people who have done stupid shit but the balance is they also not shy to help anyone and jump in to help with anything...there is a group who just take and know what there doing nd don't care and like causing upset...but even these lot will get shocked into reality one day and change it if they are lucky
Exactly right, we as society have to try and steer these kids on the right path or intervene when they start veering off the straight and narrow. The government have washed their hands of our youth, even if these guys don’t have fathers they still need father figures. We need to start putting an arm around young kids and showing them the light, being a waste-man just leads to misery and pain.

Great interview James, this was inspiring and emotional from Ben hope he has every success in life... These types of interviews should be on intercity school circulations once a month for 13 to 16 years olds to catch the youth and warn them early as to what life has to offer and right roads to take... hope your success keeps snowballing James

Every time i listen to these stories i see aspects of my own life spoken in their words. These podcasts are not just entertaining, I feel that they're necessary to our progress as individuals and as a society. If we all wake up and look within ourselves we will find the answers to life. It's the most painful thing to do, but it's these painful things that lead us to true freedom and eventually to bliss. Being in the moment, having no "thing" going on inside our "mind" is to me, one of the most beautiful things ever. I began my spiritual journey whilst in prison. When I look at it it's like I was removed from society for two reasons, one was punishment, the other was to intropsect inside a cell. i feel that it was a blessing in disguise because some people i knew then are dead due to drug overdoses, violence etc, but I was taken out of that madness and put into another kind of madness that ended up saving me and waking me up.

Everybody's got a story to tell. No man can truly judge another without walking in their shoes.
This kid was on the wrong path, there's no doubting he was. With some inspiration, call it divine if you will, he was given opportunity to be shown the right way, to understand the reality of it all.
I truly believe that hardship is a necessity in creating true strength and conviction.

Great video James keep up the great videos. This guy reminds me so much of my self. I never fitted in at school had learning difficulties, was bullied off teachers and students my academic side suffered badly. I ended up in hospital seeing councillors and phycoligists. School gave up on me and expelled me when I 14 and then I was expelled from another school not long after. I tempted suicide when I was 14 not long after being expelled from school and got in to drink and drugs. Never been able to control my anger and aggression and its got me in many a problem. I am still having constant problems to this day been through the mental health system since I was 8 am 38 now but I will keep going and keep fighting to change my life. So good luck to your brother and wish you all the success in your boxing journey.

Definitely agree with what both of you said about schools. I spent most of my time sat in the corridor because I was always getting sent out of class etc. Boredom sends your mind elsewhere.

Deffo the education system is fucked and needs to be revamped completely especially when they took away the ability for teachers to reprimand kids along with parents which imo is the reason we have so much trouble with the young uns well deffo played a part kids today and the last Gen. Don't know what the word *NO* means also kids having kids, im 46 and when i was growing up most of us were from 2 parent families and underage pregnancy was not so common but that soon changed so i believe these reasons had a big part to play in how our youth has turned out.

As someone who works in high secure forensic mental health. I totally understand and respect his story and strength of character in working on himself and getting out and onto better things. Believe me. S.37 is extremely difficult to overcome. He did that.
