The purpose here is to be able to track our average daily gain and better plan processing dates and such.
Here's a link to the scale we are using on Amazon:

Small time guy myself and did something similar with the chute but I drove t post and wired and chained everything together cause I was paranoid 😂 but seems maybe it’s justified. I’m digging the setup though
I am not from a farming background and when I got into the industry, I was quickly surprised how cheeky farm animals can be! Quick question, why are you weighing these cattle? And did you build these yards all yourself?
I'm tracking weights, so I have a good understanding of how many pounds per day I can put on them. This helps me plan my finish process more effectively.
Brother how much is the price of the blue chute?
I paid about $800 brand new for the blue head shoot and then $80 a piece for the bull gates.
Mind sharing the link? Im looking for this
So the blue is a actual head gate? If so yes please share the link. Also the slide/butt gate. Nice set up for us hobby farmers/homesteaders.
that is a steal of a deal, they've gone up, they're $1100 now even without tax
Been looking for a scale like that...where did it come from
I bought the kit from Amazon. There's a link in the description. The platform was custom made. I had a local fabricator build a frame and put 3/4 plywood on it.
@@ericgonia265 I found it thanks
Is that scale made of wood?
The platform is 3/4 inch plywood on a 2" metal frame.
How long is the scale platform you made?
If I remember correctly I did 6 ft by 3 ft. You will want to measure the location where you are placing it.
How much did they weigh?
The steers are currently weighing around a 1000 lbs each. The scale weighs around 50-75 lbs all assembled.
