Using DIY Scale from Amazon to Easily Weigh Cattle

- Working Cattle doesn't have to be hard; actually it can be done easily. In this video we use our brand new DIY Scale from Amazon and platform for the first time to easily weigh cattle. It took about 4 cows to learn the process but in the end we had fun and it was super easy. Having the right set up makes working cows a breeze. In the last year we upgraded our cattle pen, re-arranged our set up and added this AMAZING scale (see our other videos for more details).

Ive been looking at the same scale you guys made for your alley. Would you recommend it for getting weights every month on 50-60 head calves?
Scott thanks for commenting. We have only used it a handful of times so far but it’s been very accurate and easy to use. As simple as it gets. We measured our weigh using this and our own scale at home. It was dead on if not 1lb off.
In our set up, only regret we have is not making it wider. Maybe 36” wide vs the 24” we did.

Great question. He is a 1 year 11 months. Heads to butcher on Feb 9th. Estimating him being around ~1020 lbs when we take him. Have been finishing him out on grain concoction for last 60ish days

I go to butcher March 1st with 2 belted galloways. Been out of this for decades so I’m an old rookie again
We’ve only been at it four year and are finally feeling like at least we sort of have a clue what we are doing. Really like the TH-cam platform to connect with folks like yourself. We all get to learn together
