Thanks for bringing us along, thats certainly a respectable climb, Nice wee bit of folk lore too. Our ancestors certainly knew a thing or two about burying their departed in such lovely surroundings. Stay curious mate. Colin
Hi Laurel , Thank you . Not quite the same vibe as Knocknarea , but I enjoyed my visit here . Shame the wind was so strong , but I should have guessed. 😆🌼
Excellent video again...was up that area last month thinking about doing this one and/or Carnanmore. In the end I didn't climb either one, I just pottered around the north coast for the weekend, but now I have an idea of what the climb is like. Now you've done this go for the BIG ONE, the 2 cairns on Donard's summit!
Cheers David, Carnanmore is the easier of the two for sure , but the views from Knocklayd are beezer. Back in the late seventies I did the Mourne wall walk 3 times , and also spent a lot of time there over the summer months . I do long to get back up there ...maybe , but need to work on my fitness for sure. Have a good weekend buddy.👍🍀
I did Donard once, about 2 years ago. From the saddle to the summit I thought my lungs were going to collapse. Glad I got to the top though...calm day at sea level, blowing an absolute hooley on the summit.
I climbed Knocklayde on Saturday evening…you’re right, the climb was tough but the views were fantastic despite some low cloud. Sunday morning I was heading up Carnanmore and a herd of cows charged me…I ran and fell twice cutting my hand pretty bad and my knee. I’ll give it another go sometime!
@@david_v2.1 OMG David, that happened to me once. Had a phobia of cattle ever since... Those things could kill you. I am sure playing your guitars will be difficult for a time. Well done for Knocklayd. 👍 Wishing you speedy healing. 🤞🍀

Hello Lisa, Bless you, I really appreciate that. 🌼
Brilliant video and what a view! Fascinating that Scotland is in view, wonder how it played into the placement of sites like this.
Good evening sir. Hope you are well . Yeah , that`s a very good point you make there. I must admit I hadn`t considered it. 🤔 👍🍀

@@david_v2.1 😆 You make it sound so appealing. I must have been 16 last time I did it, at that time it was a piece of piss. Ah... Happy days. 😊🍀
