I think I speak for most of us when I say turn that camera on and just let it roll! I'd happily watch hours of conversation with any of the horticultural icons you've been visiting. Don't skimp on the video length on our behalf, Jim. Bring it on! 💜
It never ceases to amaze me what a fantastic resource Tony and his magnificently diverse garden is. Thank you for taking your time on these tours, and making multiple videos, Jim. Simply fantastic & priceless content for learning gardeners 👍
All I can say is "WOW"! Loved Tony's tour and description of each amazing plant, and especially that he grows those of such a huge zonal range! Thanks for taking us there, Jim.
@@JimPutnam every time I watch him I learn so much. I didn’t think we could grow baptisias here In Texas as I never see it in nurseries or gardens. When he said he found one in Plano ( not far from me) in a ditch I found one and it is my new favorite plant.
Heading across the state form Asheville this weekend, for the open house. I am so looking forward to seeing Juniper Level Botanical Garden in person after watching each of these informative interviews with Tony. I really enjoy both touring your yard with you Jim and when you take us on the road where we are both guest, learning something new. Continue the great work.
Thank you for featuring Baptisia. I have it on my list to add this year for spring interest. Hearing how well it grows in different soil conditions and the beautiful colour display has sealed the deal for me. Great tour!
Great tour Jim! I like how you have a great balance of conversation when you host a guest. We’ll done. I’m now thinking about introducing a Crevice Garden/Rock Garden to my yard (zone 7b) Wasn’t that Azalea stunning!!
Loved this tour. Claret cup cactus is really stunning in person..saw it on a hike in Big Bend NP & have great pics in full bloom. I’m just missing the open house dates..saw there was a form to visit on other days so I may try that option.
Aromi azaleas are great but there are other collections and selections from collectors that are terrific as well. Skinner and Sommerville collected and named some really great azaleas.
Jim while lilacs might work well in zone 7 Raleigh down here on the coast south of Wilmington not so much. Even the heat tolerant Miss Kim is a very short lived shrub.
Hi Jim! I’d like to see what you do with your tulip bulbs. I know you tend to treat them like annuals. Do you store them? Could you do a video of it please? Thank you!
Nothing really to show. I leave the ones in the ground that aren't in the way of progress. If they come back great. If not I don't worry about it. I'm planting about 30 flats of things this week so some will make way.
@@JimPutnam yes, that sounds familiar now that I see it in writing! Thanks-did my first tulip bed and want to plant some around and on top of them once they die back.
@@JimPutnam out of maybe 100 tulips I think only a handful return for me here in Garner, NC. It’s a nice surprise to see tulips I planted years ago return, and a little strange to say the least. 🤣
The thing to remember about tulips is that they prefer hot and dry summers. If possible plant them somewhere where they aren't getting watered with your other plants. They prefer cold wet winters. That's one reason they don't come back reliably.
Hope you find what you're looking for. It's 87 in my area today so people are probably selling them cheap. Maybe an ice tub would be more seasonably appropriate.
I'm not trying to sell you anything, but you should see the collection of things that the nursery has protected, or collected, or introduced. 27000 taxa is not cheap to maintain. I just want to get some of his knowledge into the world. Again, buy from where you are comfortable.

I agree. This video is 17 minutes in length. With a pot of coffee, I could have gone twice as long with these two. Really good video.
I agree! This was great. Hoping for part 2 😃
@@rachelsgarden yes!!! I could watch an hour session…I’ve learned more about plants from this series than anywhere else!!
This tour was simply awesome. Love to see all these unusual plants and Tony's knowledge is incredible.
If you’ve never been, you need to go! It’s a magical place! Filled with plants you won’t see anywhere else🌱
I’m putting it on my calendar 👍

Definitely, and the mildew will be an issue. Zone 7 is the max
Our version of “lilac” is Vitex
@@pas100657 Love Vitex. Planted a Shoal Creek last year. Love that it blooms much longer than a lilac.
