  • If you're relatively new to firearms, and rifles in general - you'll want to get acquainted with your new best friend: the humble rifle scope.
Today I'm introducing the basics, but in the future we'll discuss mounting, zeroing, difference between units of measure, difference between first and second focal plane and more. So, stick around :)
The optic in this video is the ‪@Vortex‬ VENOM 5-25x56. And if you don't know what those numbers mean, you're in the perfect place!
There are many types of optics out there, and knowing these basics can help you differentiate between them and pick the one that's right for you.

Thanks for all your great content. I've learned a ton. Could you tell me what mount you are using for that scope on your Tikka Tac A1? I'm trying to decide between cantilever and rings and see your cantilever mount. Any reason for your own preference?

Thanks so much! Really glad my videos are helpful to you :) It's a Vortex cantilever, though I can't quite remember the name. I chose this because it allowed me to keep the optimal eye relief while also ensuring that I wasn't "bridging" my optic between the receiver and fore-end's pic rails. Hope this helps!

Yes it does, thanks. I'm going to trust the Canadian Operator and do the same! Cheers.
