I bought a 93 80 when I was living in Japan in 2020 with 94k miles and it came with the same style wood dash. Absolutely going to do this. Cheers 🤙🏽

Thank you for this video! This is exactly what I needed. I'm not a Land Cruiser owner but just bought a 97 Celica that came with a very similar type of dash kit as yours. And yep. It's faded, cracked, and a real pain in the rear end to remove. Will try out your method. Thanks again.

Awesome dark blue paint. Midnight Shadow!

Great tip. My lx450 came with the wood trim but it was mechanically fastened with screws in the corners for the dash. Removal was simple, but I have small holes to fill (…if I ever get around to it). Shifter and door bezels are glued so this is helpful.

Probably get some caulking the same color and fill the hole..

I wish this video came out sooner. I took it upon myself to blast my wood trim with a heat gun and used a flathead screwdriver to get them off….biiiiig mistake.

Whoops! Bummer.. those dam wood dashes! Your solution it to get another wood dash.. But they have them in Black now, which looks good. So... preference is Original plastic, but if it's damaged, at least a black dash kit would look better amd clean.. Just means another $150 or so.

Love the channel and the content, really want to get a LC. I think I have found a good one but I have a question. How bad is a head gasket. Feel like I have a pretty good cruiser 95, triple locked and no rust with low miles but it needs a head gasket. Asking 10k is it worth it? Is it a DIY job or do I need to have it done professionally? Any advice would be helpful.

The head gasket is preventative maintenance. It is about 3500 to have a garage do it (you can do valve cover gasket at same time).

Would you say it is worth it to pick it up

I mean would a blown head gasket stop you from getting it?

@@dustinsharp9028 Have a look at used prices for a like for like LC, i think you will still be in front after the repair imo.

      I think you are right

Do you still have the kit? Can I buy it from you?

I don't sell kits. I just remove then! When removed, they are destroyed. I did put a black Birdseye one in Otis, to cover a scratched up center console by the gear shifter.

Use a heat gun in combination next time, it will be much easier.

Once again a great vid tip! Hey are those ROAM cases on top and if so how are they mounted to the rack? I currently run a Rhino Rack Pioneer Rack.
    Good stuff brother! - @trpl_lok

Yes, Roam cases. There is a link to their site in my LinkTree.. I believe it's 5% off.
