It’s very true!!! Having physical money that you can actually see and feel, makes a huge difference. Not only does it hurt more to give it away, but when u see your cash stacking, you feel richer.
I agree but I've grown up with my dad teaching me that money sitting is money wasted. Almost every penny of mine is invested in things like stocks and ways to make it grow. so far, it has been an insane turnout over the years. You let it sit and forget about it and the growth can be crazy if you invest in the right things, which really isn't hard to do. I do agree though, seeing a nice stack of cash is a great feeling
I'm 13 and don't have a job. I do side hustles like cleaning and babysitting to make my money. This definitely helped me and I've already set up my cash envelopes and binder.
This let me know I was BROKE and can't really afford anything!!!!!! This made me realize I needed to downsize somethings like... my cellphone and car.. thank you..
What I do, is since that all my bills come directly out of my account I calculate all of my monthly bills, add them all up and I normally add an additional $20 to the total just in case something is a tad more, and then I leave that in my bank account. I withdraw my savings, spendings, gas and food money or anything I pay with cash, and add that up. Then I disperse it between my envelopes.
I love how you didn’t immediately push going out to buy alllll the different extras and you pretty much said start with what u probably already have on hand
You did a great job of explaining how to budget....lot of people "assume" that people know this info or have some idea about how to handle money....applause to you for gaining control early before it became more than you would imagine.....thanks for sharing your knowledge and your budget journey....love watching your videos.....
I started my cash envelopes/sinking funds last month. I'm saving for Christmas, my birthday and mine and my boyfriend's anniversary, which are all in December. Saving little by little is definitely better than spending all my Christmas bonus for those three events!
This is literally the best beginner video I have seen and I have been binge watching for a week now wanting to get started and not knowing where to start but this video is extremely helpful
so im 19 and car Insurance is rly expensive bc im considered a “new driver” even though ive had my license since I was 16. my car insurance used to be like $300 a month, if you have members of your family thats in the military I advice if you’re young or in general to get under their policy. my car insurance went from $300 to $88 from being under my grandpas policy!!

I love how you explain it. Especially the Fixed vs Variable expenses. I started out with a system like that but was no where near close to get to my sinking fund. I will definitely start back again and your video was perfect. So much better than the other videos I watch. 🙌🏽
Great video! I use the cash system for my sinking funds as well as spending money, gas, and groceries. I personally don’t like taking out cash then depositing it back into my bank account to pay the bills. Works for me and I think you definitely have to do what’s right for you! Great tips and pointers!
This was such an awesome video! I’m a student in university and I’ve been so terrified of my piling loans, but this inspired me to finally crack down on it and start chipping away for a better future. You’re a great teacher!
Yes your the first person who explains it to where I can understand as a begginer and you don’t use overly decorated things I had to subscribe right away
Such a good and thorough explanation I’ve watched so many videos because I’ve been trying to start a budget for what feels like the 100th time. This made it all make sense.
Very clear and concise, I started to get overwhelmed with all the information I've gotten since starting my search for budgeting. I love this video.. thank you for sharing.
Already so helpful and I’m just at the part about doing the split budget. I pay most of my bills out my second paycheck since it’s at the 28th of the month and I’m usually struggling between that and paycheck 1 but then paycheck 1 I overspend. Working to build healthy money habits and this will help so much
THANK YOU. This was absolutely so helpful. I have 2 jobs and get paid every Friday... my full-time job is a fixed income while my 2nd job is not and you explained this perfectly! Thank you so very much!
Wow, I love how you explained this, I am just starting this journey and I am loving it. I love seeing and touching my money so this is for me. That ending was so good 😅
I purchased the mini cash envelopes from your shop just last night, and I seriously can’t WAIT to receive them. 😍😌 this is such a good video!!! It’s all about organization and consistency. 💰🙂
I haven't heard sinking funds explained so well before! I finally get it haha! This is probably the best video for the envelop budget I've seen, thank you so much!!!
I feel more people, no matter what age you are, need to see this video. 🧐And honestly… when you do have the physical money on hand, it makes a big difference in your spending habits. 🙂If the rest of those persons using just a credit (or even a debit) card, were able do this, then so many would not have so many problems trying to pay back those credit card loans (because this is what they are…) 😳with interest! Plus having a physical budget you are able to work with and see on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, really does help everyone in the long run.😇Thank you for posting; I look forward to seeing many of your future videos.🥰
This was so good, I’ve been looking into better budgeting/savings methods and the cash envelopes seem good, but I needed more info to get rid of the anxiety of starting it lol, this broke things down so much.
My husband and I are opening a restaurant and so as the only one bringing in a paycheck at the moment, I feel like this system will really help us budget successfully. Thank you for sharing this for us beginners!
This was absolutely incredibly explained. Thank you for giving the option for an entirely cash based system and for a variable expense system. I will be trying the tips you've said. Not sure why I've never thought of breaking down my larger bills between paychecks instead of waiting to take them out of a single one. Very helpful.
I started watching budgeting videos about a week ago because I couldn't account for a lot of money. THIS video is the one I need to help me get started on my journey. Thanks so much.
I’m in the UK so I’m just waiting for payday to buy what I need to start. I’m on low income as fiancé pays for all bills and rent. I pay for food shop every week and my phone Bill. £218.88;left every month after food shop and phone bill. Fiancé pays for anything we need so I want to start saving !
You are doing a service, so many people do not know how to physically budget. It's absolutely not taught in schools here in the UK. I've been doing this to become eventually debt free. It's so easy just to swipe a card without a thought. New sub here.
Very helpful. I was wondering how to transition from using my debit card for everything to using the envelopes. I also didn't know what a sinking fund was. Thank you so much!
Thank you ! U were refreshing, calm , professional, realistic and not annoying lol ♡♡ . Excellent video it helped me, and encouraged me to try this envelope method 😀
My sister and I just got our new apartment. And this will help us out slot. This can teach us financial responsibility and I would feel more secure. My mama was the one who told us
Thank you so much for this video. I am very new to the cash envelop system and I’m also looking to get a tight hold of my finances by starting from humble beginnings. Your video was very informative and your logistical breakdown of how you actually go about using this system was super insightful for me (especially the part where you explain you physically deposit the money into the atm/bank to pay a specific bill). I am going to first start with the approach of using envelopes for my variable expenses and leave my fixed expenses on my account.

This is literally what I need, saved it to my private playlist for the future. Thank you so much for uploading this, your really an angel. I'm currently studying for a two year course compulsory for becoming a high school teacher. My mama is a single mother, so we have first hand experienced struggling with money like many others for having one paycheck and five growing bellies to fill. She is still very worried about my decision because it wouldn't pay well as compared to other company jobs and is still trying to make me keep my options open. I understand her. Point of view, as she wants the best for me. But teaching is the only thing I would truly enjoy maybe I will have my moments of sadness with not having everything like my siblings pursuing company jobs but on the long run this will make me happier. I was so worried about how to manage the cash, especially in times like these. Medical expenses are so costly that since I will be staying with my mama till I get married, I'll save my whole paychecks for the future from now only instead of spending it on things that won't last. So glad to discover this method, hopefully it will be enough for my future family in the long run. God bless you❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story and just by reading it seems like your are passionate about teaching. If that makes you happy I think you should pursue it and the first step about money management is being mindful of your money and you have proven that you care about your finances so I am sure you will make the right decisions. Good luck on your journey and wishing you all the best. Thank you ❤️
Oh my god, when you said “when I looked at my account and saw money, I saw it as money I could spend not knowing I needed it for something else” i nodded and audibly said yes. Im new yo trying this method so here’s hoping
Thank you so much for this!! You’re the only person I have come across that actually explained this nicely and thoroughly!! I’m starting my first tomorrow!!
Very awesome Monet!! I really like this video. You did a great job at breaking down how to start a cash budget system. I'm going to show this to my oldest son. I'm preparing him for budgeting too. TFS!
You explained this so well! I’m trying to make this part of my life and my moms life and more people, I think this is such a smart way to save money in different ways this is gonna be so helpful when I start my business thank you God bless!
Bonnie February 2023 Thank you, thank you!!!! I've watched dozens of videos and read for hours trying to get a cash envelope system that makes sense and will work for me and your explanation of the split method did it! Being able to see how you did it made all the difference. Reading it just has never made sense to me. Thanks for the time you put into this.
Thank you sooo much for this video. Ive watched several online and they’re using thousands of dollars and show the process but not the rationale for the start. Love your technique in your videos! As a teacher of 17 years I’d like to praise you for your excellent teaching skills! Way to break it down! 👏
Thank you. I have watched other videos and they were too advanced for my money. I decided to budget about 4 years ago. We get one payday a month and that makes the paperwork easy. It changes from month to month and it's exciting. Now that I'm comfortable with the budget, I do desire to use it to save up for something special. Your video broke it down for me without making me feel like our " little money" had nowhere to grow. Thank you
Thank you So much for being plain and simple as possible. Are used to get myself confused because the explanations that other people were giving we’re making any sense to me but thank you thank you thank you for your explanation now I can go forward and start saving the appropriate way and creating other goals for my savings
Thank you so much! You just showed me a way that will "work for me". I couldn't figure out how much to keep "in" and how much to keep "out". You have made it so clear.
Thank you for this! I've been watching youtubers who have been into this for years. It was confusing to follow (the others who have been doing it for neons that move so fast.)
one of the best videos ive watched explaining ❤️ my little cash binder just got delivered today and im counting down the days until my next paycheck so i can start!
Honey thank you for your information this helped me out a lot. My personal stash I have on one card, saving card, and my main card is my bills. it helps that way I wont spend the wrong money from the wrong account. I still use the envelope method
Im actually waiting for my, Go Girl Budget Book, with cash envelopes. From Amazon. I cannot WAIT for Friday. Especially now, after watching your video. Thank you so much for sharing this gem if wisdom. Again. I'm so excited to try this. And I'm 50+ year's old 🤓
Just subscribed after watching this video! Super helpful!!! I have been unemployed for almost a year now because of the pandemic. I’ve been saving my stimulus checks and tax refund. I’m so hopeful to find a job and I’m excited to bring in a steady income so I can start my cash budgeting! Thank you so much for sharing all of this great information!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💯💯💯💯💯
I’m very happy this was helpful and thank you for joining the family ❤️ Wishing you success with finding a job and I’m excited for you to start this journey as well.
I like how you explain it clear and 'real'. I feel I can connect with you more. Using the plain envelopes, you aren't over the top 'big glam'. Thank you!!!!
Best vid on Envelope Budgeting! Love how to start with True basics. Most come to this system because they are already over extended and searching for a solution. 💯❤🙂
True. The average American family does not have $500 for an emergency. Add $6,270 in credit card debt. Getting out of this situation takes an extreme behavioral change.
I am moving out very soon and super excited to get this method started to set myself up right! This video is so helpful. And thank you for linking the products you use or recommend so I can get started :)
This is such a great video!! I am fresh fresh fresh into budgeting lol! I have started over twice because I would get a great amount saved in all my envelopes and then decided to pay off a credit card or large bill🤦🏽♀️
I'm doing this this year. This is the method that worked for me when I was in college but my husband prefer using a credit card because of the rewards. The problem is it's easy to swipe and difficult to keep on checking every time we purchase something to track where money went. Paying in cash is a good discipline. It's easy to control the spending when you see the money is getting lesser or gone. Thank you for sharing your experience in budgeting! ❤️🙏
This really helped me. I just got a job. A sinking fund for me is Medical. My son on average is admitted to the hospital once a year for a few days or more. Money on coffee, food, a few groceries really added up this last time. I could start a sinking fund and next time grad that envelope and I wouldn't need to spend it all. But I'd have it. That way I don't feel bad spending my credit card then coming home to owing a lot of money. Thanks!! I'll start it tonight.
Girl, you are a born teacher. I swear I am at least 15 years older than you and you broke it down so well, I basically laughed at myself for not understanding things in other videos about certain things and now you making it so simple and easy! WTF! :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!! Im 17 and I just started working as a waitress so majorly of what I make are tips and I even though I don’t have spending problem I would like to know how to sort it out properly and to save up for my education but also money for other things.
Thank you ❤️
@@MonetsMoney God bless you :)❤️
Oh my god, when you said “when I looked at my account and saw money, I saw it as money I could spend not knowing I needed it for something else” i nodded and audibly said yes. Im new yo trying this method so here’s hoping

Thank you so much! Glad I can help. I’m a visual learner as well so I understand.
So I just found your channel and let me tell you I’m obsessed and I’m a new Subbie! I’ll be purchasing from Etsy!!
Aww thank you so much! Glad you enjoy and thanks for the support ❤️
Thank you sooo much for this video. Ive watched several online and they’re using thousands of dollars and show the process but not the rationale for the start. Love your technique in your videos! As a teacher of 17 years I’d like to praise you for your excellent teaching skills! Way to break it down! 👏
Thank you so much! I’m glad it was helpful 🤗
This was VERY helpful! I appreciate your presentation style with telling us and then showing us with the written descriptions. So good!
I’m glad it was helpful ❤️ wishing you success with your savings goals
Thank you so much! You just showed me a way that will "work for me". I couldn't figure out how much to keep "in" and how much to keep "out". You have made it so clear.
This is amazing! I’m glad you have found a system that works for you and I’m honored I could help ❤️
Thank you for this! I've been watching youtubers who have been into this for years. It was confusing to follow (the others who have been doing it for neons that move so fast.)
Happy that I was helpful and that you enjoyed. Thank you ❤️

Wow, thank you so much 🤗
Best vid on Envelope Budgeting! Love how to start with True basics. Most come to this system because they are already over extended and searching for a solution. 💯❤🙂
Thank you ❤️ I’m glad it was helpful
Congrats on moving out soon, wishing you luck! I’m glad the video was helpful and I hope this system works out for you ❤️
Great video, I liked that you gave inexpensive options for doing this system
This is such a great video!! I am fresh fresh fresh into budgeting lol! I have started over twice because I would get a great amount saved in all my envelopes and then decided to pay off a credit card or large bill🤦🏽♀️
Glad I can help. Thank you ❤️
Finally on my own with Amy first big kid job. This is so so helpful!
This was thoroughly explained especially the sinking funds. Thank you 🙏🏾🌻🧡
Glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching ❤️
I want to thank you. I’m so tired of having to go into credit card because of my bad spending habits
Love your editing and this was super informative! Thank you ☺️
I'm doing this this year. ❤️🙏
Thank you for this ! I was going crazy on TikTok trying to understand this system.
Glad it was helpful! ❤️
Glad the video was helpful!
Wow!! Súper simple and clear… thank you so much!!
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching ❤️
Girl, you are a born teacher. I swear I am at least 15 years older than you and you broke it down so well, I basically laughed at myself for not understanding things in other videos about certain things and now you making it so simple and easy! WTF! :D
Lol well thank you! I’m happy I can be helpful in any way. ❤️🤗
