That's really lovely. You have done a great job on your blanks because, by the way they cut, they look like they are very high quality. Good job. Best Wishes, Brendan.
That's one gorgeous pen Pam ☺️. In fact the way you've put together, with the burr the way it is, looks great. I might get some of these kits for my Model T pens. I feel a piece of vintage wood deserves to made into a beautiful pen.
Great pen Pam. I like that you got them around the wrong way. I think it gives the pen more character. Quick question, when you paint the inside of the blank with acrylic paint how long do you leave it to dry before you glue in the tubes? Oh and if you are going to sell it, I would love to buy it from you!
Hey John Thank you, i dried it with hair dryer then left it around an hour before gluing but im sure i didnt need to. Im unsure what to do with it at this point im still looking at it lol :-)
@@Highlandboxes Ok Thanks. It's something I haven't had a lot of success with so I'll try that. Sure I woukd probably keep it if I made it too lol however if you do decide to sell please let me know 😁
Hi Pam, Another great video. I really like your pen blanks. I've turned quite a few of the fountain pen version of this and they sell really well in the US would you believe??? Can you clarify your method of painting and gluing the tube. it looks as though you use the paint to glue it into the blank, or am I missing something. All the best, Stu.
Beautiful pen, Pam👍 I think you should keep it, gift it to yourself, you're definitely worth it. Never to good for work, we buy nice things to use, might as well be you that gets to use it, regardless of work or home use.
@@Highlandboxes my absolute pleasure. 👍 My Grandmother bought some really nice expensive crystal ware and good silver cutlery, among other things she put behind glass doors to admire, and unfortunately she passed away just last August a few days before her 90th birthday, and never got to use them. No point making such purchase's if you don't get to enjoy them.
Beautiful pen! That blank is absolutely gorgeous. My shipment of Yorkshire Grit arrived and its great stuff. Good recommendation! Do you have a link to the aluminum honey comb (even a UK source)? I would love to track down a North American supplier - I love the look of that.
That is truly a lovely pen, Pam, and I like the look of that kit. To lighten the blue even more you might try painting the inside of the blank white instead of light blue. Just a thought. But I like it like it is. Billy
I've done quite a few of these and I also do the Jnr Gentlement kits which are almost identical and the same quality. Like you I found that the roller ball pens write so much nicer, still not made one for myself I have one of everything else on my desk here at work. Now I wouldn't call the blank orientation a mistake, I would actually call that an unplanned experiment. Boy did that pay off too, I think that looks far better than had you planned to put it the other way. We seem to be in this blinkered way of thinking that bowls need wafer thin walls, pen blanks have to be in a certain orientation. You've just proved everyone wrong again that not doing the norm here looks far better and I bet a lot of people will now copy this. I will certainly look at that option when I do my next pen. Great video, well done!
Thank you for showing where you got the pen kit I think that too many people show how to make really nice things but don't leave a link to where they got the stuff to make them.
Thank you price is a difficult question to answer it depends where you live in london the price you get is double of what you would get in a lot of other places. Watch what people at craft fairs around you are selling for and dont under cut your time and costs.
As usual, you killed it!! I love watching you create new things. I do miss your bandsaw boxes. :)

Your so right bill, better to use it than sit in a velvet cover waiting for the right time or occasion to use it. Thank you :-)

Your so right Paul we are always looking for imperfection in what we do, rather than in bracing the unplanned look of the outcome. :-) Thank you
I've mixed up my bushings more times than I care to admit 😇 The pen looks amazing!
Beautiful pen Pam.
