I got pregnant at 15, my daughter was born 4 weeks after my 16th birthday. I had her brother at 23. My grandfather told me I ruined my life. Fast forward to 32 years old. I was diagnosed with Fredereich’s ataxia (very similar to MS). At 16 I didn’t know what my future would be, but I knew I loved my baby! With hindsight I know God gave me toddlers when my body could physically chase them, play, coach, pack… when my disease started showing its symptoms, my kids were big enough to not be packed everywhere. They have me, but don’t require the same physical effort infants and toddlers do! Christianity is LOVE. God’s timing is always right, even when we completely don’t get it!! So, I have become a cat mother/rescuer instead and helped take care of my disabled brother since our mom passed away 13 years ago. God gave me the answer and I accepted it eventually. 😊

When my husband was dying from PSC, I spent just over a year caring for our baby alone. I cried so many times to the Lord. I prayed, I got angry, I got sad, but at the end of the day I knew it was His will and His plan that would be, not ours. His will is perfect.. and while we may not always understand, while it sometimes hurts beyond words, we knew that He was with us. We knew that if my husband died before or during transplant that He would be with God, at peace, no longer suffering. I don't have the words really and I know I rambled, but my point is that faith in the Lord is faith through the impossibly hard times too, not just when things are going well. Important story about international adoption: I have a very close family member who adopted from an undeveloped country, through a “Christian” adoption agency. I helped with this process intimately and went with the family to live in country for a month. We found out while there that the agency was walking around rural villages taking pictures of random children and asking parents if they want their children to grow up in America. These parents did not understand adoption, and often thought it was like going abroad for education and then would return home after education. Luckily, the worst of these cases were often caught when the US embassy did its investigation, but this was often devastating to the family who thought they were engaging in a legitimate adoption process and had fallen in love with a child they expected to have as apart of their family. It also creates undue confusion and stress on the child, who would be invited to stay in nice hotels and have what to them was expensive meals with a white family, be shown their future siblings and home in America, only be left behind within the week.

Next thing I know we find a Christian couple looking to adopt because they cannot have anymore biological children (only had one), and we didn't use an agency so they just had a lawyer and I had to sign stuff. It was supposed to be open, but the lawyer said that if they put it in the official documents that the bio dad would have that option as well. Being being terrified as him, we did a verbal agreement. Here we are almost 10 years later and all I get is a yearly visit and I'm known as a "family friend."

I am horrified by the thought of her adopting a baby. I am an adoptee myself, and it's not all rainbows and sunshine. Adoption is a lifelong trauma. She cannot be allowed to capitalize on another baby's trauma for "content" and monetization. Also, adoption doesn't necessarily mean a better life, it means a different life. Typically socioeconomic class differences between the birth family and adoptive families are what forces birth moms to give up their baby. There's so much more about this in the adoptee community, I wish others were trauma-informed
I got pregnant at 18, and I grew up in a Christian Church my whole childhood up until age 18 and there was an adoption of my daughter that was set up behind my back within the church and it was a couple that also lived in our housing addition. I lost my shit and let everyone involved know that would not be happening and I gave up my athletic scholarship to be a mother & it was the best decision I ever made and my oldest daughter is now 22. I too was adopted into an amazing family at birth, and my birth mother was raised in a Christian family and was forced to put me up for adoption, but it was the best decision for me, because she already had my oldest sister, then when my bio parents ( who are still together) found me at age 28, I found out I had several siblings and I was the only one put up for adoption, but I’m thankful for that every day as I was raised by the two most amazing parents anyone could ask for 🥰

Hey Josh... i used to be like " Joe Christian" many years ago... not so much anymore...however in 2011 I was informed I could never have another child... I had already had 5 so I was praising God and thanking him for this... then in 2015 I met my husband... he was the first man that never has to this day raised a hand to me... then in 2017 I was rushed to the hospital thinking had another blockage in my intestines... I have crohns disease... during the prep for emergency surgery because that was the norm for my body they did a pregnancy test... I was pregnant... he is now 7 years old... on the 13th of June this year I am having surgery to evect my uterus and her buddies called my ovaries!!! My son is Autistic but a true gift... yea I thank God for him daily and for all 5 of my other children but I truly can't handle anymore!!! I believe God is real and this is my path...

The best case scenarios I can picture with this couple actually adopting a baby is that they will treat the baby like an accessory (just like Della) and at worst they won’t “vibe” with the baby and they will have to give the baby back or he/she will be neglected. Obviously that is speculation and assumptions on my part but I just have a really bad feeling about this. I don’t pray but I will be keeping this baby in my thoughts and I HOPE my red flag feelings are proved wrong! 😣

I am infertile and it sucks to want a baby and be able to have one but like you said I take it as a sign!! I got a job at a daycare and it is almost a form of birth control. I’m also looking into being a foster parent (I grew up in the system) she’s just selfish as hell.
It's a shame there isn't some kind of reproduction transplant yet. I have never wanted kids and can't stand them but all my organs seem to work perfectly. I'd gladly give them to someone who needs better working ones. 🥲

i also struggle with infertility. 10 years ago i would pray and pray for a baby, to be abke to get pregnant. today, im 35 and now know about my hidden scoliosis that would have made a pregnancy even harder than normal. natural birth probably impossible. and my health issues just keep coming. i feel like having a baby was not gods plan for me now, i see it. i wasnt meant to conceive and im content. bdawn needs to chill 🙄

When my husband was dying from PSC, I spent just over a year caring for our baby alone. I cried so many times to the Lord. I prayed, I got angry, I got sad, but at the end of the day I knew it was His will and His plan that would be, not ours. His will is perfect.. and while we may not always understand, while it sometimes hurts beyond words, we knew that He was with us. We knew that if my husband died before or during transplant that He would be with God, at peace, no longer suffering. I don't have the words really and I know I rambled, but my point is that faith in the Lord is faith through the impossibly hard times too, not just when things are going well. Glory be to God, always.

Josh, I should point out that you said if she had miscarriages then it has nothing to do with her husband’s fertility. But a lot of recent studies are now showing that miscarriages can be just as much due to the husband’s sperm quality/count/morphology as the factors on the woman’s side.
So as much as I dislike these two (lol) it isn’t incorrect that they could get bad news about their ability to have a successful pregnancy after having multiple losses, and it could be due to his sperm.

Important story about international adoption: I have a very close family member who adopted from an undeveloped country, through a “Christian” adoption agency. I helped with this process intimately and went with the family to live in country for a month. We found out while there that the agency was walking around rural villages taking pictures of random children and asking parents if they want their children to grow up in America. These parents did not understand adoption, and often thought it was like going abroad for education and then would return home after education. Luckily, the worst of these cases were often caught when the US embassy did its investigation, but this was often devastating to the family who thought they were engaging in a legitimate adoption process and had fallen in love with a child they expected to have as apart of their family. It also creates undue confusion and stress on the child, who would be invited to stay in nice hotels and have what to them was expensive meals with a white family, be shown their future siblings and home in America, only be left behind within the week.

@@thedcp I was SA'd by my daughter's bio dad, and my family doesn't believe in abortion. Next thing I know we find a Christian couple looking to adopt because they cannot have anymore biological children (only had one), and we didn't use an agency so they just had a lawyer and I had to sign stuff. It was supposed to be open, but the lawyer said that if they put it in the official documents that the bio dad would have that option as well. Being being terrified as him, we did a verbal agreement. Here we are almost 10 years later and all I get is a yearly visit and I'm known as a "family friend."

I'm so sorry that happened to y'all.😢My daughter got pregnant at 15, I explained all her options to her, n told her whatever decision she made, she would carry w/her for life, n as hard as it was not to push my beliefs n wants on her, I let her make her own decision. I am horrified by the thought of her adopting a baby. I am an adoptee myself, and it's not all rainbows and sunshine. Adoption is a lifelong trauma. She cannot be allowed to capitalize on another baby's trauma for "content" and monetization. Also, adoption doesn't necessarily mean a better life, it means a different life. Typically socioeconomic class differences between the birth family and adoptive families are what forces birth moms to give up their baby. There's so much more about this in the adoptee community, I wish others were trauma-informed

I got pregnant at 18, and I grew up in a Christian Church my whole childhood up until age 18 and there was an adoption of my daughter that was set up behind my back within the church and it was a couple that also lived in our housing addition. I lost my shit and let everyone involved know that would not be happening and I gave up my athletic scholarship to be a mother & it was the best decision I ever made and my oldest daughter is now 22.
I too was adopted into an amazing family at birth, and my birth mother was raised in a Christian family and was forced to put me up for adoption, but it was the best decision for me, because she already had my oldest sister, then when my bio parents ( who are still together) found me at age 28, I found out I had several siblings and I was the only one put up for adoption, but I’m thankful for that every day as I was raised by the two most amazing parents anyone could ask for 🥰

Hey Josh... i used to be like " Joe Christian" many years ago... not so much anymore...however in 2011 I was informed I could never have another child... I had already had 5 so I was praising God and thanking him for this... then in 2015 I met my husband... he was the first man that never has to this day raised a hand to me... then in 2017 I was rushed to the hospital thinking had another blockage in my intestines... I have crohns disease... during the prep for emergency surgery because that was the norm for my body they did a pregnancy test... I was pregnant... he is now 7 years old... on the 13th of June this year I am having surgery to evect my uterus and her buddies called my ovaries!!! My son is Autistic but a true gift... yea I thank God for him daily and for all 5 of my other children but I truly can't handle anymore!!! I believe God is real and this is my path...

That’s an opinion I’ve always thought but kept to myself. Especially when it comes to religious people, WHY is infertility never a sign? People think they are always entitled to children if they want them, but I think only the fittest both mentally & physically should be having children.

The best case scenarios I can picture with this couple actually adopting a baby is that they will treat the baby like an accessory (just like Della) and at worst they won’t “vibe” with the baby and they will have to give the baby back or he/she will be neglected. Obviously that is speculation and assumptions on my part but I just have a really bad feeling about this. I don’t pray but I will be keeping this baby in my thoughts and I HOPE my red flag feelings are proved wrong! 😣

I am infertile and it sucks to want a baby and be able to have one but like you said I take it as a sign!! I got a job at a daycare and it is almost a form of birth control. I’m also looking into being a foster parent (I grew up in the system) she’s just selfish as hell.
It's a shame there isn't some kind of reproduction transplant yet. I have never wanted kids and can't stand them but all my organs seem to work perfectly. I'd gladly give them to someone who needs better working ones. 🥲

i also struggle with infertility. 10 years ago i would pray and pray for a baby, to be abke to get pregnant. today, im 35 and now know about my hidden scoliosis that would have made a pregnancy even harder than normal. natural birth probably impossible. and my health issues just keep coming. i feel like having a baby was not gods plan for me now, i see it. i wasnt meant to conceive and im content. bdawn needs to chill 🙄
