    What bothered me most about the hospital part of the video is that his son is laying there on a bed, in pain and he’s sitting in a chair across the room so he can get the secret footage he needs…I’d be by my sons side, holding his hand.

      He couldn't even sit up in the bed on his own at the hospital. Aaron sat there filming rather than helping him. This video made me so angry! They were laughing and goofing off all day while their son was on the couch not able to move in pain.

My son fell and broke his arm last year and my adrenaline kicked in high gear I got all 4 of my kids dressed, shoes on, and buckled in the car within 10 minutes and we were headed to the ER. My granddaughter's mother told my son his daughter sprang her ankle on a trampoline. When he picked her up the next day he freaked out and immediately took her to the E.R. She had a broken tibia. There was a CPS investigation and my son was charged with destruction of property for kicking his ex-wife's door off the hinges. Of course, he shouldn't have resorted to violence but his ex-wife was standing in the way of the door while he was carrying his daughter to his truck. She was upset and said he was being dramatic. He fixed the door the next morning. She faced neglect charges.

      My husband had an issue like that with his daughter. The difference is days later when she legally had to allow us to take her to the hospital because it was our time with her via the custody schedule, the hospital staff said it wasn't neglectful and acted like we were just telling them what happened to get her mom in some kind of trouble or something. It was crazy. They had to rebreak my stepdaughters ankle so they could set it properly because it had been broken for almost 4 days at that point.

      @feat.shanika ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hospitals doesn't need to be investigated you can anonymously report something to CPS and it is CPS's job in the United States to follow up afterwards they don't send somebody directly to the hospital all the time I work in the emergency room and have called child protective services myself you have to give her a part over the phone and they follow up at the patient's house if it's something immediately dangerous like someone ship their baby and the baby has brain damage that they will contact the police were the situation is out of our hands

    I can't imagine watching either of my babies shaking in pain and just being like "let's wait it out." That's so neglectful and traumatic for that poor child. If the mom wants to use her "recovering from surgery" as an excuse, why couldn't his father have taken him?! How anyone can support this family is beyond me. Jfc.

    Also Congrats to your wife!!! I am in school to become a clinical Mental Health counselor and decided for myself and my family to take a semester off for the sprinf (this is my second Masters). However, I am specifically interested in Child Development and early intervention and healing from childhood traumas. I become SO frustrated when I see these families. But I am also learning a lot about family dynamics and how it impacts Development. I am currently developing a theoretical study that looks at the use of tik tok/social media and its relation to depressive symptoms in adolescents. It is hypothetical but something I continue to find myself researching.

    I hurt my ankle when I was about 10, couldn’t walk at all. My mom was even a paramedic, and didn’t believe it was broken (mostly cuz she couldn’t be bothered) I woke up in the middle of the night, it was swollen and was so painful. My sister pleaded on my behalf, and she finally took me to the ER at 4am. I had to hop and crawl by myself all the way to the car. The whole way there, she was asking if it actually hurt a lot (like she didn’t believe me) and that it better be broken, since I’m making her go to the hospital at this time. It was smh. I fractured my growth plate and had to wear a cast for around 8 weeks. When they told her, she laughed in disbelief and made a joke about me being in actual pain. A couple years later, I broke my nose, same thing again, she said it’s not broken, and never took me to the doctor. Just slowly recovered as is. As a result, my nose is crooked, and I can’t breathe through one of my nostrils. Eventually my parents divorced and I obviously chose my dad 😂. One of the few times I’ve seen her since, she looked at me and laughed saying “I guess you did break your nose”. 😡 Narcissistic people need to really not have kids, they are so out of touch, and nothing is their fault/problem. She even gave up her rights to my sister so she wouldn’t have to pay child support she owed (she could afford it too which is the sad part) Luckily I had my dad, and he’s the exact opposite of her, super loving and protective.

    They could have walked into any urgent care same day and gotten seen right away, there are urgent cares everywhere. I've never heard of making "an appointment" for urgent care, they are there for URGENT issues and almost always see you right away. Then they would have known it was broken and gotten referred to the hospital ER right away. This whole story is odd. I had a small stress fracture in my foot and it was horrific pain, and I have a high pain tolerance. Poor kid.

I knew immediately it was more than a sprain and we rushed to the urgent care for x-rays and the next day scheduled an appointment with an Orthopedic who confirmed the fracture and she was casted for 6 weeks. This makes me so sad and frustrated that they let that boy sit in pain after jumping 14 feet onto concrete... ugh that poor kid.

      Other than the cast what’s the difference. Pain meds and rest

    • @kerriekeenan9031
      @kerriekeenan9031 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      “Other than the cast” the cast should not be disregarded that’s a significant difference. But also the difference is knowing the damage. Some fractures/breaks need surgery. Some are unstable and one wrong move can cause serious damage. There’s a reason a doctor will order an X-ray if they suspect a broken or fractured bone. The recovery and treatment are vastly different between a break or fracture than a soft tissue injury. It’s very important to know the distinction. With a brake it needs imobilisation at a minimum. A soft tissue injury needs rest but also needs movement and weight baring to help it heal well.

    July 8, 2022 my daughters dog ran into my leg and I caused a plateau fracture. I can tell you right now the moment that break happen that young boy was not able to put pressure on his leg at all!
    I could not even put toe weight, and I am talking about my big toe, on the ground yet alone, put my foot on the ground and place any weight on it whatsoever.
    They should’ve taken that young boy to the hospital immediately that way they could’ve made a phone call to the orthopedic ASAP. I made a phone call to my orthopedic after leaving the ER, within four hours I was having an emergency CT scan, and surgery was scheduled for a Tuesday! I broke my leg on a Friday morning Tuesday morning I was having emergency surgery! This is not a break you mess around with… I have a huge plate and seven anchors in my leg now because of this break! I am beyond pissed that they waited over 24 hours for this young boy as I can assure you he was in a ton of pain!
    I’m will be in PT for a year and I’m in a special knee brace that I will have yo wear for a year. I was on crutches for 3 months with 9 of those 12 weeks non-weight bearing. I’m so angry I’m crying. 😡😡

    My youngest was injured during a dinner we were hosting. I took him to the hospital right away and ended the dinner. I can't imagine having my kids in extreme pain and ignoring it. What is wrong with these people? I'm not sure what state they live in, but in the north west, you can call a on call nurse through the pediatrician office you take your kids to. They are 24/7 and they call back right away. I usually call them when my kids have a fever, especially when my kids were babies. Usually if it’s a severe break that requires immediate surgery you can be admitted from the ER. however if they can reduce the fracture and splint it without surgery, they will do that and send you home. Often you have to follow up with an orthopedist and will get surgery later if needed. This is what happened to me as a child for sure and what I usually see at the hospital where I work.

A week later he came home from school with a slight limp. I immediately asked what he did to his foot. He finally confessed and we immediately went to the ER. When explaining what happened and when, I was asked multiple times how we let it go for a week. I felt so horrible but my son knew he was going to be in major trouble for being on the roof, so he hid it from me. I still feel so bad about him walking on a broke foot for a week and it has been over 10 yrs since it happened. How can a parent, knowing your child is hurt, not immediately take them to the doctor? Also important to note, urgent care, again I'm in PA, do not prioritize appointments, they'll give you an appointment but when you walk in it is still first come first serve. First off this is STRAIGHT UP child abuse and child neglect! .... secondly you never get permission to film in ANY hospital goes against patients privacy and confidentiality.... NO emergency room or hospital will give permission to film! ... I know this as I work in a private hospital (and worked in public sector as well) ..... Also here in Australia if you as a parent do not seek medical attention on your minor child for major accidents our hospital staff are required by law to involve child services for neglect of a minor.... why didn't these medical staff make a report?
    Lastly if you child falls 14ft your calling 911 and getting a bloody ambulance especially if they didn't witness the accident... he could of had far more internal injuries going on that they wouldn't know about! .... I'm sure they'd all have phones to dial 9 1 1 ! ....

    There is No reason that he should have to wait to get splinted. They really should have taken him to a Children's Hospital for the most specialized care but he should have been able to get appropriate care in any hospital. Urgent cares are trash. They should have gone straight to the ER.

    Surely there should be some sort of privacy law with regards to giving out information? I know it’s the parents releasing details but it blows my mind that it can all be filmed and broadcast to millions of people. Could you imagine if the doctor broke doctor/patient confidentiality, the parents would most likely be pretty annoyed and rightly so. The law needs to catch up faster. That poor boy 😢

    Serious accidents or injuries like hurting your leg and it possibly being broken need to be examined IMMEDIATELY. Especially if it is swollen, changing color, or if they are unable to walk on it like she said the kid wasn’t able to. The longer you wait to go to the doctor the worse it’s going to get and the longer they will have to be in a boot or a cast if it ends up being broken. These people are insane.

    My son broke his hand playing football and we were at urgent care 3 hours later. Unfortunately in the US the waiting to cast it is common. Our son was splinted, had to have an appointment with his pediatrician the next day and then was casted a day or two later at an orthopedist.
    Their negligence for an initial appointment to even find out what is going on is absurd.

    Poor kid :(
    In the early 90s, I obliterated my ankle playing basketball in PE. No cell phone back then, so I literally dragged myself down to the office in my gym clothes bc my ankle was too swollen to get the pants off. Like, scooting my butt and dragging my leg. The office had to page my mom (lol). When she called back, she literally said to me “it better be broken when I get there.” As if I was complicating her day. Years later she told me that she was in Toys R Us with a cart full of Christmas gifts that she had to leave behind to come get me. I guess it was lucky for both of us (🤔😬) my bones were absolutely shattered. They had to cut my pants off. Nearly a year to recover.
    Even in those circumstances, just what she said to me in all seriousness that it better be broken bc I was inconveniencing her, it has stuck with me to this day and I’m now 41. I don’t understand why people with the means an opportunity to provide prompt and appropriate care to their ailing/hurting child would brush him off to suffer. It’s really sad.

    Josh, you are 100% correct on this... I am in South Carolina, USA and if your child or anyone breaks anything you can take them to the Emergency Room as soon as you can make it there bc a broken bone can kill you. It is that simple. Emergency Rooms are open 24 hours a day. But I'm sure that it was very hard for these parents to make time to eventually take their son to the doctor. Maybe the views will ease their pain and I'm sure that their son feels bad for ruining their plans to get some one-on-one time spent in the doctor's office(Yay) with them and the camera.

    On thanksgiving when I was 12, my dog pulled me onto a cactus (he jumped over it) and I had tiny spikes in my arms and hands. I was in enough pain, and it was definitely not the worst pain I’ve ever been but I couldn’t move my right hand so my mom took me to urgent care on thanksgiving anyway. It could’ve waited until the next day, it was painful but bearable, but she didn’t wait. *That’s* what they should’ve done. If a child can’t really move a limb, you shouldn’t put it off because “you had it worse” 🙄

Also I live in the u.s and have NEVER waited around like these two for an emergency like this and I'm not wealthy at all. It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with ALWAYS ADVOCATING FOR YOUR CHILD. these two simply didn't care. Also the doctor repeatedly asking what happened tells me that he might have briefly questioned whether or not this child was in a safe environment.

    IF an injury requires immediate surgery it'll be handled in the ER.
    IF surgery is questionable the client is referred to an orthopedic for further evaluation.
    I have had both situations take place. One time I had emergency surgery via the ER. another time I was referred to ortho and didn't need surgery. Yet another time I was again referred to ortho and ended up having surgery.
    So it really depends on the situation.
    Here in the States an ER is used to stabilize a life threatening problem, not FIX the life threatening problem unless FIXING is stabilizing. I hope that makes sense.

And after the urgent care told them to go to the ER, instead of rushing there as quickly as possible, they stop to film a "this is what we are about to do" portion in their car! Unbelievable. Then she says, "because it's a Friday, we are going to have to wait until Monday..." Lady, he broke his leg either on a Wednesday or Thursday, and you, knowing the weekend will be more difficult to see a doctor, waited until Friday night to take him in? Ugh. They spent more time watching their daughter back out of the driveway than they did seeing to their injured son! This is just gross.
