    We're testing out a new machine today and going through some of the basic settings in order to set it up for some more advanced features down the road. Today we are playing with short circuit MIG and focusing on how inductance changes the arc features.

    That's awesome Bob! I had been trying to work out the inductance on my machine, and in 5 minutes you taught me the difference in high and low inductance.
    Now for pulse aluminium mig!
    Thanks!

      I've read a lot and watched a lot of videos trying to teach myself how to make quality cuts with a torch and it finally clicked for me when i saw 2 videos that Bob made about oxy/acetylene cutting.. Best damn channel on youtube.

    Can the wire and gas info (types and rates) be added to the video description? It is handy to come back to as a reference without having to re-watch the video to find out where it is mentioned, or find a video that is most relevant when you have a series on different wire and gas types/rates.

    I still don’t get what the inductance adjustment is doing, I’ve never seen that before.

    After years of using flux core 0.9mm/035" I recently moved to true mig with gas. Slight learning curve, sounds very different, looks heaps better AND does not weld galv anything.
    Clean material makes your job a whole lot easier.
    Thank you for your insight and wisdom Bob.

    That machine is a dandy and packed with features. It's also on sale until Sunday, which makes it a very affordable machine for what it does. I was curious if are you running in synergic mode with setting the amps instead of wire speed or if that's the ways it runs in full manual mode? As always, thanks for taking the time and sharing your vast knowledge.

    Hey Bob, can you show, how to MIG solder or braze and which settings on which material? Some examples?

    Mr.Moffet . Question for you . I know this is a green machine video. I own a mobile welding business and welding shop . I'm looking at purchasing another machine. In that 260-400amp mig machine. I have two new blue engine driven machines ,blue suitcase , a PW tig and Plasma . I've had issues with my blue machines already . So I'm shying away from blue . I know you have a lot of videos with a 285 yellow machine, now these green machines. I'm looking at this green machine for my main shop machine. Would you go green or the yellow? Or is there another you recommend? Thanks . Always fantastic content 👏 👌

    why the crazy back and forth technique, there's no need?

    • @scottparrish8566

      Slight movement can steady an unsteady hand and it can also make it easier to see, but my favorite reason is: "It's just how I learned."

      +Scott Parrish none of those seem like solid enough reasons to me. But each to their own.

      It's to control his travel speed. Rocking like that gets him into a rhythm and he's able to maintain a consistent travel speed.

    Great video, Thanks. Would you use that inducance setting for like 16 or 20 ga. ?

    • @scottparrish8566
      @scottparrish8566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a Belgian auto 5 for 16 ga, and though I don't often use 20 ga., I do have a cheap single barrel my granddaddy gave me when I turned 10.

    Would a wire wheel be a satisfactory alternative when you can't get into a tight corner with a flapdisk?

    Boa noite amigo sou do brasil mas gostei muito da Everlast Power MTS 252 STI Ac DC tig bi-volt 2019, e estou comentando em vários vídeos dos amigos para ver se vocês conseguem se unir e mandarem para mim aqui no Brasil uma máquina dessa que eu descrevi acima, por favor!!!!!

    Great information again, Mr. Moffatt. I understand the lesson was not mainly about the machine. Do you know if the Everlast Power iMIG 253 Dpi, has the pulse process while in the stick mode? I have seen this on one other machine and it seemed worthwhile at keeping the heat down. I looked at the Everlast site but could not make the determination with the information provided.

    How does that work with setting Volts and Amps? Doesn't your stick out and travel speed affect your amperage?

    • @bobmoffatt4133
      @bobmoffatt4133 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Giese Stickout will. Travel speed will not.
