I'll just repost my steam review here for those who still want to buy it, but it's a pretty long read. Here you go guys :) Edit: added some more positives after playing the game for some more time. Long story short: don't buy it, it's bad. But it's getting fixed, I guess? That's good to know. Long story: I'm a long time CarX player, have over 18k+ hours in regular CarX Drift Racing Online on steam, been playing since the first mobile versions too. Let's cover a few important topics: optimization, physics, progression, tuning and localization. NEGATIVES: Optimization: On a pretty high-end pc (R7 5700X, 4080, 32 gb of ram, the game is on an M2 drive) I get anywhere between 60 and 110 fps at 1440p resolution. Why is it a negative? Because if the framerate drops (and it does randomly) significantly, for example by 20 frames, you feel it. However, after the first update, I felt like my fps got way more stable. I still do get losses here and there, but not as much. Deffo an improvement. Sometimes I still get random freezes, where my fps drops to 1, be it me just driving around or scraping an npc. Physics: It's still CarX. But it's worse. The game does feel like it's more catered towards grip racing, and I actually LIKE the steering assist, but somehow, I can't drive as well, as I do in regular DRO (yes, I do time attack in regular CarX, fight me). Drifting feels weird too, but it's possible. However, the car tries to straighten up way more, than in DRO. Progression: Oh god, where do I even start? The amount of XP you get per race is ATROCIOUS. 15 xp for a race, be it a short 2km race, or a long 8-9km race. Yes, it's a C1 career race, however, it's still pretty bad. You get like 40 xp in the C2 career races, which is still god awful. At least the money isn't a problem. I got way more XP for drifting in a circle for 5 minutes, then in the span of first 15 career races. Also, the AI is dogshit: you can't push them, cus their weight is equal to an aircraft carrier, however, they can push you really easily. Despite that, they're awful at driving, and they're piss-easy. You can pretty much finish every single race with a stock car that you bought from the car shop with no problems and no sweating. Tuning: I'm yet to actually touch it fully, since everything is level-locked, and I'm only level 8, so I don't have much freedom in that part. I don't like that the tires don't affect your performance rating AT ALL. No matter if you're using street or racing+ tires, your rating stays the same. The WORST part is that not only do you have to buy the part, but you HAVE TO BUY THE RANGE in which you want to tune that part. So, the tuning of the part you bought might actually cost the same, if not even more than the part itself. Localization: I'm russian, so, I don't have any problems with the russian part of the game. However, I play in english, since a lot of my friends aren't russian and I frequently stream for them or just show some stuff to them. And, some parts of the interface AREN'T LOCALIZED. Some text in photo mode, for example, is still in russian, even if I'm on english. BONUS: Characters and their voices: They're all AI. AI art, AI voices, AI everything. Awful. POSITIVES: Cars: Alright, there are some cars missing from the mobile version, like some Ladas and whatnot, however, they're still okay-ish at least. Obviously, they're not Gran Turismo or Forza quality, but at least comparable to regular CarX. Map: It's actually pretty good. I like the views of the map, I like the touges, I like the highways. So, at least that's good.
Not a good first impression, that's for sure. The foundation is there but they didn't wait to improve it and gave essentially an early access game but marketed as a full release. Thankfully the things that need to be fixed aren't incredibly difficult so that'll be done within a couple of months I imagine. The lack of proper collision SFX, AI voices, noticable late game grinding issues that you will inevitably have to scale puts a little bit of a damper on the experience and makes it feel a little cheap honestly. BUUUUUUUT it's $20 and nothing else is out right now so I'm willing to stand by and see it improve.

Coming from driftX racing it’s a massive improvement, compared to nfs I think it’s going to be very different. Nfs will still be more arcade like. The engine sounds are okay and the ai used everywhere is a bit distracting but I would play this along side nfs and test drive.
Yooo i'm so impressed actually. The feature density is astonishing, and the visuals.. WOW! For 20 bucks?! I'll get that when it comes to console :) Looks like such a fun relaxing multiplayer social racer.

I was on the fence on buying it but since a friend of mine gave it to me for free, I gotta say I’m genuinely enjoying it, just mute the ai, I’m looking forward to the modding for it, and more cars tbh, like trucks and more jdm and muscle and even supercars, still grindy tho

Ok, game looks quite good for a first release, BUT, MY question is: can you link the mobile account to the PC version of the game or are they separate?
The second currency was a premium currency in the mobile version but in this version you cant buy it at all and you get it from leveling up. Also as far as I've seen there are no uses for the premium currency like there is in the mobile version. (btw the devs said there wont be microtransactions so I hope they were not lying)
Fuel system would be interesting if it have some interaction with gameplay, for example, different fuels giving different performances, or, if you have less fuel, your car will be lighter, and faster because of that. But maybe i'm dreaming too much.
only that's missing is the licensing of the cars, parts and other stuff... if that's resolved in the future updates or maybe in a sequel then this game would be a direct competitor to NFS.. damn..

They are afraid of the amazing work CarX developers has delivered so they will try to tarnish their name for no reason cuz their favorite big companies couldn’t deliver such work 😅
About time this released, that EG looks sick😮
This looks better than Solar Crown.. how is that even possible.
When crossing the finish line, the theme seems like a mixture of the crew motorsport with the fonts and nfs payback with slow motion and camera switching
The ai voices lines are gonna get annoying when playing the game ngl
If I remember correctly from the mobile, the fast travel cost is proportional with the fuel usage that would occur if you drive yourself.
Wait so you pay exactly the amount based on how much fuel it would take?
Welp now I feel bad for cursing them.
Coming from driftX racing it’s a massive improvement, compared to nfs I think it’s going to be very different. Nfs will still be more arcade like. The engine sounds are okay and the ai used everywhere is a bit distracting but I would play this along side nfs and test drive.
Thanks bro, u are the real gamer
Yooo i'm so impressed actually. The feature density is astonishing, and the visuals.. WOW! For 20 bucks?!
I'll get that when it comes to console :) Looks like such a fun relaxing multiplayer social racer.
not that I wasn't already gonna buy this, but I'm (more) sold
You're sold on AI voices n shit?
@@Eeveethegamer26 no, no. That's just hilarious... But the car customization looks fun
You can just turn it off@@Eeveethegamer26
Can’t wait for this to be on consoles.
Dope game, Car X giving us what we wanted from NFS
This game is shit
this game has worse handling, worse voice acting, and worse engine sounds
Did you play any nfs Game before ?
Something i love about this game is that we can race for pinks!
Besides seeming a bit indie, honestly, it looks good. Customisation looks savage. 👍
looks awesome, looks like its going to be very fun to just cruise too and not just go fast all the time
You're a talented creator, no joke!

We need more of this car list in NFS like the MR2 , Subaru Forester , EG Civic , Nissan 300z and the chaser iconic cars that made the car culture what it is
I was on the fence on buying it but since a friend of mine gave it to me for free, I gotta say I’m genuinely enjoying it, just mute the ai, I’m looking forward to the modding for it, and more cars tbh, like trucks and more jdm and muscle and even supercars, still grindy tho
people should know this game came from small studio not from big studios like EA or other team.
i literally loving this game it's so beautiful. i don't mind if they put ai voice. i care the small studio did this much and it's looks beautiful.
They are not a small studio anymore, also ive been seen games made by two people have better voice acting than AAA games
Overall looks good, need patches, but for me the scariest thing that can happen in racing games it's avatars like in Forza Horizon or soundtrack like in NFS Unbound.
Wise words from every MX5 owner "I NEED TO WELD THE DIFF!"
im so excited to play this game fr
Every video I’ve watched all of you guys have fell off the mountain off the start in the same place in the same way. You, Goosiest, this random TH-camr I watched at 5am, 😂
All this game realli needs now is a dc2 JDM front end Integra & a 1999 EK Honda coupe!!! I'm sure everything else will come in due time. Literally everything we've been asking for... Well almost lol
Nice to see the focus st in the game and not just the rs getting all the love haha
I been waiting for this video the entire day😂😂😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👌👌👌👌🔥🔥
i agree love exploring in games
"My car has 'N 2 O'..."
I dont even know how to react to that.... I get it, the script voice was just a job to her, probably not a car girl, but they should have at least had her say nitrous or nos (yes nos is a brand but its commonly used as shorthand for nitrous). Still.... seems better than what current NFS gives us.
Leaving a comment ahead of time. Already realizing its AI voices. But that's even less excuse for piss poor script writing. AI follows exactly what you write with zero improvisation. So this now is a fail on the script writing and absolutely should have said nitrous or nos.
Nfs? What are you talking about
@@tinystar3010yeah, when i heard that it feels kinda cringe. nfs hot pursuit, heat has well written and did mention about nitrous and its better than this.. N 2 O...writing.. thing
@@Mrz_gotban need for speed
@@tinystar3010did u purchase the game to listen to some Justin biber voices then u are at the wrong place bro, these developers are from Russia so what do u expect,American or British ascent 😂
After playing test drive I’m now waiting for this to come on console can’t wait I play car x drift
Wassup From 🇺🇸 love the content bro🔥🤝🏾
God I’d rather have no voice acting than the Godawful A.I voice acting
Pants i think you've sold me the game now
damn that map menu at night looks freaking cool
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIIIIS
Would be so cool if they give us high traffic on mobile i wanna play no hesi on the highway😭
The understeer was because you were wayyyy too quick into the corner :P
I like the tyre wear, the fuel mechanic, I personally love those details
U right bro , black panther just spent 30 minutes playing this game and started passing judgement on under steering and short races without even upgrading the car that’s crazy
I'm not sure if the other currency's already been explained in another video but I think it's some currency you earn when online.
I could care less about ai voice actors im happy to see this port become a real thing
BlackPanthaa, amazing video it was really good
considering they did what they did with the budget they had and not someone like criterion or blackbox or turn10 helping them, i honestly can't even be that mad about the fact that they used AI for the voice actors.
bruh why u defending AI slop
@@Rightfvlly "bruh" me saying that the AI voice overs in the game makes sense because the game is made by a tiny team with a small budget is not the same as me saying "yeah its cool if everyone just starts being lazy and uses ai"
be real lmao
@@tiltshiftvis Project Wingman was a game helmed by three people and they still managed to get voice actors.
@@IkusaGT and thats good for them i guess lmao
You can get voice actors for incredibly cheap to record a couple lines. You don't have to hire Nolan fucking North or whatever, just a random guy from Fiver or something.
Same as mobile version to me.. as for currency you can do the delivery job or win an elite race for it.. not exactly need to pay for it
mileage counter works, sick
BlackPanthaa, amazing content keep up the awesome content
I'm just saying, I know thousands of gamers would have lined up to do free voice acting for them, or the staff there could have.
I feel like gas and tire prices should be re-adjusted since tires last around like 30 mins and a full tank of gas can go up to 4k credits depending on the size of the gas tank
Its crazy what traffic does to a map. Just dont understand why nfs doesnt has this option to turn it up
Damn this game looks awesome, especially at nighttime.
8:09 juiced was an amazing game lol 😝 miss that one it be amazing if they came up with a part 3
This game is great I’ve been playing on mobile since I’ve gotten a new phone I’m currently lvl 28 and I’m still getting on religiously to do the daily races and deliveries
Game looks cool ! I would have preferred to have real voice acting instead of synthesized voices though. But I'm still gonna have a blast I think lol
Use boulder list windows instead of fullscreen to help FPS, Keep in mind use Racing+ for good grip stock tires for drift
I bought it today and I bought old school rally.
Carx street is nice
But old school rally is amazing 😍😍😍😍😍
It’s like Midnight Club LA mixed with NFS underground 2! So amazing! ❤
🤨
@@PARSA-POWER yes i’m not lying look at the internal customization and style of gamesplay
only that's missing is the licensing of the cars, parts and other stuff... if that's resolved in the future updates or maybe in a sequel then this game would be a direct competitor to NFS.. damn..
A lot of people are crying and complaining about a $20 game that has AI voice acting….IT’S $20 DOLLARS, what did you expect?
Exactly game is good enough already for 20$
@@Blade-XV honestly, for $20 I’ll be more worried about gameplay not the voice acting
Yeah, most of racing games around that price didn't came with voice acting at all such as Grip Combat Racing.
The spoiled children haven't a clue. Lol
Setting your standards that low is exactly why ai slop keeps happening
1:27 Yooo,an Opel/Vauxhall Astra!👀
Very cool video black panthaa
they trained the AI voice off halo infinite cortana lol
Max sounds like Dug from Up 😭
In mobile cars felt more grippy and you have to brake more, at least that's what I remember
