Would love to have a beer with Nick. The 'calmer', most 'centered' of the Floyds. A really nice, kind and funny guy.

Finally, after 14 years, The Project has some content worth watching. Nick Mason is an absolute legend. Going to see the show on Saturday night & hopefully I'll get to meet him.

@@0Imtheslime0 I reckon that this show is for the die hard Pink Floyd tragics like myself. I heard my first PF song way back in 1973 - it was "One of these Days" and here I am 50 years later & still into them.

No need to have worried Gary. IMO Nick's band and tour is the best of the solo tours. Absolutely brilliant show. I'd been waiting decades to hear these songs played live. Brilliant.

Saucerful is probably the magnum opus of Nick Masons career. Brilliant idea to revive the pre-Dark Side music and take it on tour. It was needed..
Old and new get to experience the Pink Floyd canon..
    Go Nick.

I read an interview recently (it was in another context and about the Beatles) - where Pink Floyd had been playing a gig somewhere in the Summer of 1967, and Sgt Pepper had just been released and was played on the radio.
The band was on the road back from a gig, in a beat up old van driven by themselves (this from memory, recollecting the interview with Waters) - and as the album came on the radio, they quickly drove to the side. And their jaws just dropped, after hearing the album. This was truly progressive and everything went up a notch or ten. Sound quality, composition, song structure - it appears this was a seminal moment for many people. Not just fans of the Beatles, but also other bands, hitherto regarded as the avantgarde.
Sgt Pepper was released while Pink Floyd was in their Arnold Layne and See Emily Play (Piper at The Gates of Dawn) period.
I am a huge Pink Floyd fan, and equally so a Beatles fan. You may interpret my comment as whataboutery - but in my opinion, the early Pink Floyd material from the 60's (pre Atom Heart Mother) is hard to listen to.

While The Beatles were at Abbey Road recording Sgt Peppers, Floyd were in the studio next door working on their first album. They would sometimes bump into them in the canteen.
Roger Waters recently spoke about Sgt Peppers being such a game-changer in the sense that until then albums were simply just a number of singles chucked together and released in one easy package. However when The Beatles released SP, it was the first time an album was presented as an actual concept or one single entity complete with themes, fancy artwork and one song blending into the next etc. He said it kicked open the door for them and other bands to be very creative when making albums knowing it can be presented as one single piece of multifaceted art.

The early PF is unique and captivating, and there's some signature classics but the shift starting in Obscured By Clouds culminating with Echoes on Meddle is what I like the most of the pre-Dark Side of the Moon catalog.

It would be a great idea, except for the fact that the only original member is Nick himself. Honestly, I don't like what I've heard, the way they play everything. There's David missing, there's Rick missing, there's even Roger missing.....😂😂😂

Gary Kemp is a despicable man. The way he treated his ex band mates especially the lead singer was terrible. How sad his legacy is now playing in a Pink Floyd cover band. He destroyed Spandau not just once but twice.
