- Today I'm float fishing with the Mini Trout Magnet Kit that comes with 1/200th oz jig heads. The kit has many colors to choose from and I did well with the chartreuse bodies. They are a perfect size for fishing from the bank for bluegill, sunfish, and small bass. This awesome trout magnet kit was sent to the show by a generous subscriber and I appreciate it very much. I had a great time fishing with the Mini Trout Magnet Kit, and the 1/200th oz jig heads are the perfect size for this kind of fishing.

It's funny how things come full circle in life. Most of us start out very young learning to fish by catching bluegills, then as we get older we get caught up in the "bass" game, but as i've become older i'm right back to bluegills. I have more fun hauling in bluegills on an ultralight setup than anything :)
Bass are fun but going back to one's roots is great. Bluegill and crappie are something i always fish for no matter what other fish i go for later that day.
I like fishing for all kinds of fish. No snob here 😀

I like fishing with trout and panfish magnets. I have caught at least 4 or 5 species of fish on them. My favorite color is the brown with a 1/64 dark grey jighead. I have caught fish in several different bodies of water on that one.

just bought one of these kits yesterday and after an hour of fishing with the black body I caught 10 or 11 good sized bluegills also. didn't have a bobber or weight to cast pretty much was fishing anything that was 7 ft in front me on the bank and it worked awesome.

It's always nice have those spunky panfish pull on that drag a little bit. They'll Spawn every year in that spot. This would also be a good spot in the evening to catch Channel Catfish getting after those Bluegill, thanks for sharing.

*Tip for peeps*: You can reduce tangles with float setups by stopping the cast with your hand on the spool just before the rig hits the water, it will stop the float and flip the hook length to the very end ....avoiding that length landing on the main line.

Man they sure chew those things! Maybe I’ll have to go find the package of trout magnets I’ve got. Seems perfect for taking my kids out to their fave bluegill spot and catching a bunch.

I don't know what makes trout magnets so amazing, but they sure are. Doesn't have much of an action.. But all fish just nail it, including bass. My favorite artificial by a long shot.
I like the sound of drag on that reel. Makes it exciting every time you set the hook. I have expensive reels that don't sound as nice.

I think you found a colony of bluegill spawning beds, in that corner. Good stuff! I have some of those tiny trout magnetss as well, and I tend to flatten the hook barb on hooks that small. They get swallowed very easily.
Only one swallowed it for me, I am usually fast on my hooksets so I dont have to deal with that 😉
@@RealisticFishing after watching this video yesterday I went out for awhile, and caught 2 sunfish on those same tiny trout magnets, as well as a few bass on a floating t-rigged weightless worm.

I just started using Trout Magnets. Man, those things work! I don't deadstick the lures, but keep the float constantly moving. Bluegills, Sunfish, Green Sunfish, Carp, Pumpkin Seeds and small Largemouth Bass. I haven't tried them in a stream, soon I hope. I also like that the fish are usually hooked in the top of the mouth. Thanks for the video.
A place I used to fish it was always somebody power-washing something, or chainsaws or lawnmowers. Noisiest freaking place! Love the channel, love the gill fishing. Keep it up!

Do it, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you get a pack of their floats. I just got their Crappie Magnets. A little bit larger but I have't tried them out yet. This is mostly Ultra-Light fishing.

Nice job Alex. What lb. of line did you use on your reel to get a good cast? Also what reel size are you using from 13 fishing?
Its 6 lb test,, and I am not sure aboit the reel size. Maybe a 1000 class
