While I'm slightly terrified of the sleep deprivation that comes with going through the newborn phase all over again, the comfortable additions we've made to the house this week will hopefully help us get quality rest whenever we can catch a few zzz's!

We are 3 weeks into potty training our son, for the night we put in a little potty in his room next to a night light and that has lightened him waking us up at night - he’s also enjoyed the independence of it!

Potty training tip, we’ve just done this with our little boy and it’s worked a treat… when we go to bed, we get him out of bed and sit him on the toilet. Most the time he’s still asleep and wakes enough to go, then we carry him back to bed and he’s asleep again within seconds xx

As a British ex-pat....I've been a fan of urs since way back to DeGrassi, and 90210..Your TH-cam series just gives me ALL the feels....laughter, smiles, heart...and u and hubs are just AMAZING! Question: what (if any) British toys, books, stuff will u be getting for the new bub, and also big sis? Is Bowie fluent in English, and American English?😉 I've been here now for over 2 decades and I honestly get muddled with what word or spelling goes to which country lol. Ex: in school I got in trouble asking for a "rubber". Keep in mind I was about age 6. Got sent to headmasters office and they phoned mum. She 😂😂😂 and asked what I'd been doing at the time I asked for said rubber..after hearing the reply she VERRRRRY slowly explained I asked for an eraser roflmao. I have many such stories growing up a child straddling two worlds lol. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love you guys and ur growing fam. Sending u all so much luv, laughter, music, purpose, peace, adventure, and more than 1 quest for faires and lightning bugs 😉🧚♂️..sending u oodles of love, light, and a very safe/peaceful birth. Idk how it is at the preschool she’s in but I work in childcare and after a certain age the teachers will tell them to get fingers out of their mouths for sanitary purposes. If they keep putting fingers in their mouths they have to go wash their hands once they remove them and at that point they might be spending more time washing hands than playing.

Re: thumb sucking. From my experience it’ll work itself out naturally. Two of mine sucked their thumbs. It’s a self soothing, comfort thing. Oldest sucked until he started school (6) and then just stopped cold turkey on his own. Second was still going till (7) but mostly only at night or when he was watching tv. We thought he’d never stop! The orthodontist showed him one video and he never did it again 😂 People make a huge deal out of it but honestly I loved them being able to have a tool to self regulate their emotions and bodies from the get go. (They’ll need braces, but I had one who never sucked their thumb and needs them too, so I find that argument is moot.)

Preschool is not a "Glorified daycare", Preschool teachers hate when people call it daycare, it is not. I am a preschool teacher and there is a difference between the two. Preschool teachers have degrees, anyone can be a daycare worker. We educate and teach the kids, not just babysitting them. 2 to 5 is preschool. Daycare is 6 weeks and older. So wanted to clarify that. We work super hard and long hours to prepare work for the children. Parents don't respect preschool teachers, they see us as babysitters, it's sad. I love your channel, but that comment rubbed me the wrong way
Apologies that you were offended in anyway! Where she’s going is actually a daycare of sorts as it accepts kids well under 6 months! It was really a throw away comment to explain to the many folks last week who commented that it was odd Bowie was starting “school” during the summer. We absolutely adore the caregivers and teachers at the facility! It’s much more emotion-based learning at this stage so not what people think of when they traditionally hear “school”. Anyway, we love it, whatever you want to call it! And are so grateful for humans like you who take their responsibility as teachers to the pre-schoolers so seriously because these years are SO formative to who our little people become!!! 🖤

There was really no other option for the mattress than the dump? Is that because of covid? I'm from Canada and in my area, mattress donations are still being accepted so maybe things are different in the U.S. or maybe they vary by state/city? Just a shame to think of the people who could really use it and the environment 💔 I'm sure you looked into all of your options 🤍
We tried because we felt the same but you may be right, maybe due to covid! 🤷♀️
I know in my area no places will take used mattresses due to the possibility of bed bugs and other cleanliness issues.
