These two colleges recently announced a merger agreement. We use the College Financial Health Advanced Compass to look at past 8 years of financial, enrollment, and graduation rates for both colleges.
Both Matt and Gary like this proposed merger. Gannon is one of the financially strongest private colleges we have looked at. Ursuline's financials appear to be unsustainable as a stand-alone college.
Bringing the two organizations together looks good.
We also used the 2025 Majors Completion App to speculate on some academic consolidations and cutbacks that might be possible as these two colleges come together after approval by the appropriate regulatory organizations.

The news has been full of stories about college closures. In almost every situation, those media reports suggest that all involved at the closing college are surprised.
