- In this video we are building a board the size for Combat Patrols or Incursion battles for 40K leviathan 10th edition, or any other game you want to use it for. The materials are all cardboard and this was the cheapest board i ever build.

Thank you very much 🙏. Definitely, and if you get the large refrugirators ones....then you can almost have a full 6 by 4 table with 1 box haha. Size wise, you will need more boxes to layer the cardboard for sturdiness...But I did not have the space to store that lol 😁. But it can be accomplished with the same techniques. I will be doing more boards in the future like this one. I find a Combat Patrol is a good size. Thanks for watching 👍

This is so cool. I was thinking of buying one of those modular, elevated gaming table things (like AdapTableTop) but after watching this I think I can make something just as useful with cardboard!

Ooh, that came out really good. I've been working on making a board of my own using XPS foam but just couldn't get flush cuts on the multiple board segments to join together since it's like an inch thick. Going with overlapping bits of cardboard for the base of the board is inspired.
Thank you very much. Xps foam would make this build go a lot faster because you could score in the details and it would definitely speed things up. I hear ya, Flush cuts are a pain if you don't have a hotwire cutter but if you go very slow and steady with a Sharp knife it can be done. Sounds like your board will work out perfectly fine that way. It can ofcourse be done a lot faster by building on a XPS board and carving the details into the xps foam but it is more expensive and I just wanted to show what simple junk cardboard can accomplish 😉. Great job, like the simplicity alot! I use diamond painting for rivits, also super cheap. Hope your board is durable aswell. Maybe protect it a bit with simple mat varnish.
Thank you very much man. Glad you like it. Yeah it has been coaten with spray varnish after the pastels. And it is quite heavy and with the layers of cardboard it is very sturdy and durable, even the edges. Diamonds also make for great rivets, but I like the hole punch for speed. @@alrethianscraftsbattles What I appreciated most is that you create great terrain pieces out of scrap materials. With simple packaging you can make anything. One question: what do you do to prevent cardboard from waving after using glues and colors?
@@analogsyndicate thank you very much. Yeah I try to show that terrain does not need to break the bank and with simple junk you can make cool looking pieces.
It can sometimes be tricky. Pva glue especially. If it it really warps badly I put pva glue on the back and this usually straightens it out. Otherwise put some weight on it while it's drying, something that does not stick to white glue like a silicone cooking mat or parchment / baking paper. I mostly have no issues with painting the piece. But if you really want to be sure use hotglue. Hope that helps 😉👍

Like it. i might change up the roads by using different length road tiles 3/4 of width and a 1/4 end. just for info what is the total board size ?
Ofcourse...you can change it to whatever size you see fit 😉👍. The board size is the official size of a Combat Patrol and Incursion board...I just converted it to cm as I stated in the beginning of the video...but in inches it is 30 by 44 and in cm it is 112cm by 77cm.

Help a dumb guy out: To adapt this for titanicus I should divide each measurement by 4, right? Keep it as a 4'x4' board, but everything four times smaller?
I believe so yes. But best do some research on that to be sure. I think the scale is indeed 1/4 of a regular 40k table. But I don't play Titanicus so I can't be 100% sure. Hope that helps. It can be build on a smaller scale for sure, it will be a bit more tricky though. Thanks for watching 😉👍
