I feel the goose bumps on both of my arms like I’m right in the front row. So proud of SU and Grambling and let’s not forget the beautiful young men and women who love playing music. This was very entertaining and I wish I had the experience of attending a HBCU. This creates of safe space for black children and others to grow and learn.
Great job to both bands and Band Directors on the arrangements. This was one of GSU's best years ya'll keep it up, this was definitely a step up year for you guys!
I'm a die hard Grambling fan with family ties and I must admit some years the band has been trash but this year is a different sound I haven't heard befor! World Famed is BACK!
This is the best that I've ever heard Gram, considering the slight shift from the "traditional" Grambling sound and feel, which is a good thing. They have maintained the dynamics and musical depth. Regardless of the style of the song, be it R&B/Rap etc. Not taking anything away from them but, SU has come a long way in terms of dynamics and depth. Their power, musicianship and execution has always been a staple and mainstay for them. Their arrangements are much better as far as voicing/harmonies/melodies etc. Hats off to the directors, which I believe are the primary writers. They are definitely in my top 5. If Gram had an equal amount of brass as SU, it would be an obvious decision. With that, Gram has been in a rut for a very long time, more than I'd care to admit being a former member. As the underdog, I'll give Gram the win, something that they have not done for as far back as I can remember.

I love to watch all of you perform. //////////////////// It is fun to watch people that are passionate and good in what they do. It is fun to watch groups of people perform very well and as one. A marching band is a good example of that. They perform with a lot of togetherness and synchronicity. It is fun to watch the college marching bands march into their stadiums so that they can get ready for their football game activities. Many of the marching band members march in with their game faces on. The musicians and the dancers of those bands are geniuses because they have to memorize a lot in order to be able to perform very well and in great synchronicity whenever they perform anywhere as a group. It is great to be able to read, write, and play music. Everyone on Earth should be a member of some type of musical band.
I Love both colleges. I went to Savannah State, but the tuba was off. It seems like they were not balance out and not listening to each other. I wish SU tubas could have done better and the timing was kind off, but the SU still did a great job. But Grambling State sound really clean and crispy, I'm proud of them.😍
Both bands had great moments and song selections ... I have much more respect for Gram after this tho I must say , but I will call a tie bc they were both solid . It was moments I thought SU were Just Dominant and moments Where I thought Gram was finna Take them to school , Overall great Battle 🎼❤️
Why is it that Southern fans never point out su flaws and issues but can bring a list of what issues GSU had. I put my life that alot who are su fans skipped gsu went right to su. If you're going to judge a battle judge it. Imo this is one of tbe best battles this season from 2018. You got a variety of old new gospel what more can you ask for?? Good job to both bands they had a hectic weekend. Another gsu dancers whew. Two captains who threw counts together in sync thats unique

STORMBOUND2012 Grambling had bad intonation problems and bad phrasing throughout their songs. They need to invest in some toners. Grambling is not even in the same ballpark as Southern. Louder has nothing to do with it. Grambling medley sections are terrible and at the end of each phrases those wrong notes sounds horrible and certain sections get exposed

After watching this video, I was so glad that I didn't make the trip. I was watching each band throughout the year and was eagerly expecting certain songs to be played...basically certain songs I was looking forward to hearing. Although Grambling played most, if not all of the songs I was looking forward to them playing, Southern didn't play Don't Disturb This Groove, Liberation, or the Batman Animated Theme...some of their best stuff in my opinion...man, what a big let down! And then we gotta do this "compilation" song thing like everyone is trying to get as many songs as possible in...Wish they would just do one song a piece; but, to each his own, I guess.
Grambling plays a gospel set, gives glory to Jesus, and you come back asking about "sexy ladies"?? Then proceed to associate yet another celebrity with your band with a prescribed "song request" of a song you just so happen to have in your repertoire. And don't get me started on all the yearly pep rally songs....🙄 #ReachMuch??
