It's the seamanship 21-23ft 600D. For when I'm not going to use it often, this is good for total coverage. thanks man. Looking forward to getting it out there
I will do a second part to this next week including: seatbox to back, total height on trailer, hull depth mid and front and true hull length, minus bowsprit etc. the rear of these hulls dont have big pods which don't even extend down to the waterline included in the length like competitors do, these YF hulls extend all the way at rear, full width down to the water. So true hull size vs sticker size is actually very respectable. I'd say it's a true 6.7m boat.
Absolutely hands down yes. Recommended over 730ht. YF70 is heavier, quieter, better riding boat with way better design and features. 5mm alloy is light and noisy. I don't recommend buying an older model Yellowfin southerner though. So if you are looking second hand, I'd buy a barcrusher. But new, Yellowfin YF70 all the way. I'd take a 730ht over an old Yellowfin southerner any day. The new YF series is at a whole different level though, in the plate market in general. For NOW. Let's hope the other brands step up.
Yes that's the 'proper' old school way . My mate bought what was marked as a 5.85 although it was built in survey for NSW maritime and the thing is a monster. It's legitimately 5.85 at the water line . @@Severe2jz
Nice one! Looks like the advertised measurements are quite true to the hull size. Do you own one of those cabins at Batemans and are they pricey? Am considering buying a shack / cabin there to do some more offshore fishing but doesn't look to be much on offer.
Yeah had a house here but was just too much up keep for us. So this shack tbh is much more suitable to what we need......depends where you buy and what it is. 60-150k type range
@BaitBallin that's not too bad! Sounds like it's quite manageable compared to a house. I have a Surtees 575 bit small for game fishing but I pick my days just need to find a place where I can wait for the right weather..
Yeah it's manageable, not without issues but it's ok. Yep 575 is a good rig and most of my early game fishing was in boats that size and yea all about the weather window. Bit bigger, heavier boats just allow to get out more often in more comfort. But doing the same stuff once out there....
Not just that. Much more than that. 675 only 6 persons, not enough fuel and poor seating. Ride isn't outstanding enough to make me want one over this. Caribbean 2300 is superior boat in every way, didn't buy due to being too heaving to tow, launch, manage etc. I do like the Haines 675, I just like these more. Everyone has their own opinions. If 675 had more fuel, 7 persons capacity and a fold out rear lounge would have bought instead. Other boat on the mix is the northbank 650ht, which again is awesome, but had way too much freeboard for stand up game fishing. Haines is uncomfortable, nowhere to sit, can't sit or stand on sides etc. just basically a stripped out fishing rig with a badge. They need to up their game.
The only measurement i wanted to know was the deck space from back of seat box to transom. It seems like you avoided it and diverted to talking about how convenient the boxs are
Hahaha no, I forgot. Il do it next time. This is what happens when you don't plan things and just start talking shit. I also forgot total height of the boat on trailer, plus hull height at mid length and front.
@@SamDavis-d3v Especially the feral varieties 😂😅😂😅 Yeah I didn't think aluminium cats being anything under 6.8mtrs are any good, too tinny and noisy, bigger one are good though 👍
Good stuff mate enjoy your videos what boat cover is that ?

@ thanks mate do you think that would be good to for a 670 HT bar crusher ?
Yep definitely.

Do you now recommend this YF70 over a bar crusher ?. I am after a one but still not decided yet

Bugs are funny. Thought i heard a pig too!😅 Nature is awesome.
Yep it's like living in the literal jungle here 🤣
In my opinion, boat's should be measured by their waterline length, as that is the bit that matters.
Definitely agree. It's all fake length these days with so called boat sizes
Correct. I find most the boats with sharp entry's only contact the water under where the driver stands causing them to pound

Look at cruise craft and haines my god there short waterline
@Rexy888 definitely!
Hey mate whats that grey rubber mat around the prop for?
Just put it there to stop anyone hurting themselves walking into it

You say you chose YF70 over a Caribbean 2300 or a HH675 because it has better seating options?? I know what I would rather have!

@BaitBallin and the proper length from transom to before the bow spirt not inc the pod
Yeah Il do some more measurements.....as many things as I can think of that people might find interesting.
1.65m from back of seat box to vertical section at rear
@BaitBallin less fishing room than a 5m boat. Definitely less than a surtees
How worth is are 360 rod holders?
They are awesome, super strong and handy
Youve got every cicada in ausralia chirpin away
Fark sakes I know!!!! 😂😂😂
Should get a sailfish cat
I do like them, few of them around my area
There's a few problems with cats

@ especially aluminium, cats
Sound quality isn’t helping, due to bug noise. Otherwise I enjoy your movies
What’s the purpose of the material tied at the back of your prop ?
Yep bloody things....
To stop some clown walking into it and cutting themselves
@craigbeekhuizen357
Yeah recently up around Snowy National Park, the cicadas were off the show, the noise was insanity deafening in some parts 😳
Yep know what you mean. I've heard them there, it's a whole different level
