I agree with regard to the 25. Its ride is supportive, very smooth, and protective. The v13 is maybe too soft and compressive? I’m not familiar with the other shoe you mentioned.
@@shreygreywall3639 adidas 4dFWD 2 (best all-rounder for me ) just wished a tiny bit more breathable. (standing all day at the hospital, can get a little sweaty), but still my favorite, if you see it on sale, grab it. also the nike invincible 3, super squishy and comfortable, but not breathable one bit. and lastly i got the New balance supercomp trainers v2, but the look wasnt my favorite, wish i could trade it out for the new NB rebel v4, that looks like it hits all my needs.. haha hope this helps.
@@SeanDarmal that's crazy dude I wear the 4dfwd 2 for work and they work fantastic. I walk about 20,000 steps a day and they have been better than anything else I've used
I bought the FuelCell Rebel v4 recently and omg it is amazing, very soft foam, you just slowly sink in but it still gives you a small energy return, it’s light and very breathable, I used to think Ultraboosts were the cream of the crop in terms of comfort but damn have foams gotten way better.
I'll be honest I work in healthcare at a large hospital and walk typically 10-12 miles a day throughout the hospital. I originally bought the Nike Invincible 2 a few years ago and recently changed to the New Balance 1080v13. I like the New Balance more. I don't think I'd even considered a NB shoe for over 20+ years, but they're amazing. Absolutely love them now and want to buy multiple different colors. Couldn't recommend that shoe more for anyone who's on their feet for at least 6-8 hours a day.
Have you tried the Asics Gel Kayano? Their new Gel Kayano 30 is amazingly comfortable and they are stability shoes so they support you over the hours. Not sure how they compare to the 1080's though.
I can concur that the NB 1080v13 are a game changer. As a heavy set dude (300lbs) recovering from a bad car accident and suffering from back pain (two ruptured discs) and a MCL injury the NB 1080v13 have helped me rehabilitation tremendously. The only cons I have with the shoe is there's a bit of a awkward learning curve while adjusting to them at first. Once the foam gets a bit broken in and you walk around in them for a while you'll get used to it
I have both fresh foam admins fuel cell off your recommendations and found that fuel cells take some adjusting. It's an amazing running shoe because it propels you forward and it's super comfortable but for daily use, I find the fresh foam to work best. I'm a group fitness coach and fresh foams get me through 4-5 hour shifts. I have the prior versions and can't wait to try the foam v13
I bought the rebel V4, 1080 V3 and the nimbus 25 and preferred the Nimbus 25. It is more plush, more comfortable, better quality materials and on sale for $90 because it is last year’s model which is fine by me!
My only complaint with pretty much all of the new Asics is that they don’t put enough foam under my big toe, leading to me pronating on toe-off in almost all models. This aggravated my foot pain terribly in the Kayano 30, Superblast 3/4, & Nimbus 25, but I loved the feel of the rest of the midsoles! 🥲
I bought the Rebel V4, went to Venice Italy for like 4 days, walked every day for 6-8 hours and it was amazing, i had no pain at all from all that walking. To add more i wanted to walk even more in them i never had that in any shoes before... Now i am looking in buying NIKE invincible run 3 or adidas ADIZERO TAKUMI SEN 10 still not sure.
I’d go with some 1080 V13’s, similar squish to the Invincible but a very close rocker and footbed to the Rebel that you know and love. Only concern is they run a bit pricey and warm for summer 😭
I owned the 1080V13 at first. Then I went to my local Dicks to try on the Rebel V4. I honestly have to say there was not a big enough difference for me to buy both. The rebel was lighter and more breathable but the overall squishy was very similar. You cannot go wrong either. For a more daily use V13 if more for running Rebel V4. My personal opinion
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have Morton’s neuroma so I have to wear wide shoes due to the nerve pain so after your videos I narrowed it down to Hokas and New Balance. Been wearing the Hoka Clifton 9s for a couple months and they’ve been great. Just ordered the Fresh Foam 1080v13 in all black extra wide so hopefully that gives me a lot of comfort. Thank you again! Your videos saved me a lot of foot pain.
1080 is the absolute goat. I wore them everyday for months because I never wanted to wear any other shoe, and then ran over 200 miles in them cuz they were so much fun to wear!
This is so helpful! I have loved the NB Lerato you recommended the other year and now it's time to update. Looks like it'll be New Balance again! Thanks, from the UK.
I’m using NB 990v6 for walking around urban areas for long time. Rebel v4 for jogging at gym/outside, Fresh Foam More Trail for light hiking. I’m also interested in getting NB Minimus for barefoot-ish experience but with fuel cell support. I tried Adidas, Nike, ASICS but New Balance seem to work the best for my feet!😊
I have the gel nyc and 1080 v13.. gel nyc I find has more stability and breathability with the mesh upper, while 1080 v13 has an incredible cushion. Gel nyc comes out on warmer days where as 1080 v13 is a great for fall/winter.
I have been wearing New Balance for the last several years and just recently decided to try the Asics Noosa Tri 15. Really love them a lot. Very comfy.
I have wide and flat feet. Also thicker feet. My preferences right now are: everyday wear: NB1080v13 lifetyle: 990v6 running/working out: asics gel kayano 30 looking forward to reviews on Kayano 31 (avail for preorder) and NB more v5
TLDR: Did 33k steps/day for multiple days on my Nimbus 26. Best shoe I've had. Great video. Thanks! I moved from Kayanos to Ultraboosts and stayed there for years. Recently discovered max cushion shoes and picked Nimbus 26. Just got back from a long EU trip where I did 33k steps/day on many of the days. The N26 made it possible. I cross-shopped most of the shoes in this video before choosing N26. NB 1080v13 was super soft, but I wasn't sure how it would hold up to long hikes (w/ some dirt & rocky roads). N26 with its improved traction seemed a better choice. Next I want to buy On Cloudsurfer when it goes on sale. It's super comfy with a svelte profile. I still have several UBs for when I want a light, flexible, decent cushioned shoe: summer. One thing I'd like to call out is the soft, premium feel of the N26's heel cup area (+ that pull tab). Much better than UB's hard heel cups and softer than many other choices. My wide N26 is a tad bulky when crossing my legs so I'm looking for something smaller. Novablast is a good choice but it sticks out too much in the back.
Honestly hate the upper on the invincible 3 and I hope they go to a traditional flyknit upper on the next edition. They’re a great running shoe from the awesome cushion, but that upper is uncomfortable for all day wear
I need help, im putting holes on my insoles not on the heel but on the front , what sort of shoe or insole do you neee when your feet puts wear out the insole on the front ?
@heskicks you mentioned in the video that you went with the standard width on the 1080v13 , how about the rebel v4 ?? I currently have the 1080v10 in 4E cus I have orthopedic insoles . Just watching your videos makes me want to upgrade . Great job on the reviews and keep em coming 🫡
Rebel V4 is definitely close to a 2E width in the “D”, while the 1080 V13 is around an “E”, just slightly wider and more accommodating than an average shoe. The older 1080’s in wide were always some of the widest shoes on the market. You will probably need 4E in most 2023-24 NB models, you may be able to get away with a 2E in the Rebel (worth trying on in-store if possible!). Not many shoes approach the width of the 1080v10-12 in 4E anymore. 🥲
I have have a pair of the 1080v13 and you are 100% correct. It’s outstanding and very light. I'm a big guy, wide foot 13. P-6000 or bust. I have bought 8 different colorways since January. The premium version is worth thr extra $10. Waaaaay better than the Vomero 5s. I switched over from invincible 3s which were killing my back.

I co-sign what Hes said about the Ultraboost Light. I'm a big dude and I don't have any foot fatigue after wearing the shoes. I work retail between the different shoes I rotate through, I always gravitate to the Lights. I got UB 1.0s, 5.0s, 19, 20, 19.5 and the technology in the Lights feels really good. Only thing is I wish I bought 3 or 4 pairs, especially the Triple Black when those were on sale a few weeks ago.
Very informative vid Hes! And I'm a bigger dude and I currently have light heel spurs on both of my feet so I will be trying some of the top pairs in this list.. Just can't keep wearing retro J's a lot anymore
All shoes feel good when I try it in a store. But I went with your recommendation and got the 1080. 15-20k steps a day at work and they’re great. On my second pair actually. Ghost max are nice but caused me some knee pain and hokas were too narrow. Rebel v4 is my next shoe
I was newbalance for years, until I discovered Nike’s vapor max. I have two pair. They are the most comfortable for me and than will be the Hoka 3. I’m a walker btw.
i do have both NB 1080 freshfoam x and NB Rebel V4. if ever you tried it whether for running or wearing it casually, you would really feel like walking on clouds
Got the v4 rebel, i hated the forefoot cushion on the inner sole of rebel v4, very hard. The midsole is good, but comfort level was less for me, Had to return. I stuck to my gel nimbus 25, much more comfortable that rebel v4 hands down
I agree with most except I would Take out the new balance rebel and move it back around 6ish mine kind of went flat on me, and put the New Balance Super Comp Elite v4s in the number 1 it's a little squishy but you WILL get used to it, I wear it all day every day now when at first I was scared I was going to twist an ankle and now that's all gone same as when the SCT v1 came out I had the same feeling with that one.
Question - (Really great content thank you) - why don’t NB do size EU46? Thats my size as I’ve tried a UK11 (my normal size) before with NB and they are too small
9:32 - One thing I hate about the Nike Invincible Run is how it constantly slides and rubs your Achilles Tendon at the back of your foot as you walk. Even in the video, look at how much the back of the shoe (pull tab) keeps sliding against the Achilles Tendon. It gets annoying.
I’ve the New Balance Rebel V4, Nike Invincible Run 3 and the Adidas UltraBoost 4.0, New Balance 2002R and 1906R, 327. All these are great however Rebel V4s are the best in the market right now.
I wore my NB 1080 v13 to Dick’s to try on & compare the NB Rebel v4. I immediately felt there was less cushioning in the ball of my feet on the v4 vs the v13. The v13 IMHO, has the most comfort & max cushion thru out the mid sole.
Thanks for watching! If you want to buy any of the sneakers, I talk about in this video. Check the description of the video!🎉
Hes try comparing the Adios 8 (maybe the 9 when it comes out) to the Takumi Sen 10 since it doesn't have carbon rods.

Question - (Really great content thank you) - why don’t NB do size EU46? Thats my size as I’ve tried a UK11 (my normal size) before with NB and they are too small
HONEST REVIEW!!! TNX
Yo, Hes, your top ten lists are spot on. We really appreciate you in Philly. A lot of my boys also watch your channel. Peace……
Solid list!

10:58 whats the specific name of that Asics Shoe?
Asics Gel Kayano 30
I’ve the New Balance Rebel V4, Nike Invincible Run 3 and the Adidas UltraBoost 4.0, New Balance 2002R and 1906R, 327. All these are great however Rebel V4s are the best in the market right now.
I wore my NB 1080 v13 to Dick’s to try on & compare the NB Rebel v4. I immediately felt there was less cushioning in the ball of my feet on the v4 vs the v13. The v13 IMHO, has the most comfort & max cushion thru out the mid sole.
Hi there! They are true to size ?
Wish I could rock the max cushion they kill my achilles. Wearing the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23. I highly recommend them for work sneakers.
