Dude, one of your best episodes yet. I'm not aware of anyone else in the review world that does anything approaching the job that you do as pertains to waterproof shoes. kudos! Bang up show! For your specific genre in the sneaker world, not only lifestyle shoes but doing crossover shoes that can cross over from Sports to Lifestyle applications nobody even holds a candle to you. I am eternally grateful for the vast wealth of information that you put out there that is Uniquely Yours and can't be found anywhere else.
Alert for On waterproof sneakers, will squeak a lot when water comes into holes. I don't wear my On cloud 5 waterproof on wet days bcs of that. Tried these Adidas, New Balance and Hoka in store, left the store with Asics Trabuco 12 GTX. Hoka felt the worst for me on foot. I'm finished with Nike, loose waterproofing so quickly.
@@losinfinite cloud 5 wtpfr is not uncomfy or super comfy it's just...ok. especially for a lifestyle shoe...But if you do not want to apologize to ppl bcs of squeaking...what's to point to wear waterproof sneaker on dry days?:)
Glad you've found some decent trainers. Frankly over the last 3 years I've had various Salomon, Adidas, Hoka, Scarpa and Inov shoes and not found any of them to be waterproof from day 1; whether they were event, gore Tex or proprietary waterproofing. Infact, in the case of the Salomon and Hoka shoes, I think I would have been better off wearing a sieve
I take long-distance walks on and off the road. I have (or had) several pairs waterproof or non-waterproof types of Asics Gel Venture 9, Gel Kayano 14, Gel Trabuco 12 Gore-Tex and Gel Sonoma 7 Gore-Tex. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I also have several types of Merrell, Columbia and Salomon. But Asics is difeerent.
Great video, really useful as we head into winter. There’s no on feet review videos for the new Nike C1ty. Probably an audience out there for your thoughts on those.
I love my Nike infinityRN 4 gore-tex version in a size 9.5 UK true size fits like a glove comfortable like a cloud only £135 cannot complain. I tried the Nike Pegasus 41 gore-tex version and they weren't that comfortable and I didn't like the trail versions either they weren't that comfortable either.
I ordered a pair of the Nike trial 5. Had the trial 4 previously and I have to say I am shocked by how uncomfortable they are. They fit fine size wise but don’t feel wide enough. I’ve never had any issue with trainers before. These just feel to tight, to the point I am sending them back. Only came back here to look what else was on the list for gore tex runners
KEEN Men's Targhee 4 Low, so far most comfortable waterproof shoe I’ve ever tried. (Especially if you have WIDE FEET) My only complaint was the looks lol not as stylish as the other brands. But hands down the best comfort and functionality. Definitely worth it. Check them out
*** the keen is not really a “sneaker” but I mentioned it because I found it while looking for a comfortable waterproof sneaker that I actually never could find for myself
Been waiting for you to cover some waterproof sneakers! I know it’s not the main point of waterproof sneakers, but would have loved to hear about the breathability of each pair
I wish the Nike P5 were better. The P4’s to me are the best. All they needed to do was make the tongue cut higher so was not too low. Even thought never had any problems water wise. And better lasting rubber sole. For me the stretchy sock thing I love that and how the pull tabs help just slide them on keeps the heal from going bad. NewBalance GTX seem the next best thing. The older ultra boost GTX did good just don’t seem to make them anymore or they making lower end ones.
Checkout Altra Olympus 5 or 6 GTX...a fantastic hiking backpacking trail running and all day wear zero drop natural foot shape shoe rugged..perfect shoe with Vibram Mega Grip outsole..... check it out please...would love to see it reviewed..ty on sale for 110 for 5
It's a shame that the colours are much more limited when going for the Gore Tex versions. I'd love to get a pair of Hierros if they were available in anything other than black
Hes, could you please review Altra Sneakers? I have been looking for zero drop shoes and want to make an informed decision. This is coming from a marathon runner who is looking to get zero drop shoes
Altra Olympus 6 bro I got the 5s goretex and vibram megagrip bro my go to when it rain heavy and looks great and let’s not forget Artyryx ones I wanted to get for sure but I’m happy with my Altras and thirdly let’s not forget Solomons contigrip yeah these three brands are fantastic!!!
Have you heard of a company called Vessi? Bought some for my daughter for school and they are suppose to be very waterproof. Have not personally tried them. But something I would be interested in you doing a review on.
That's a relatively new shoe company based in Canada and owned by Chinese people, I'm referring to their Heritage and not necessarily the citizenship status? I think that they're Canadian citizens but not positive. The ones that I've got to see up close and in person seem okay but vastly overpriced in my opinion anyway. They had a clever marketing scheme that threw them into the spotlight overnight basically. They had a campaign of mailing them out for free to every social influencer they can think of and got gobs of free exposure that way. Pretty clever idea . What I don't like is them using that leverage to put what seems to be an okay shoe at a top shelf shoe price point when I don't believe it to be a top shelf shoe. That being said I have not worn a pair I've only seen one up close and in person worn by a coworker at work that seemed happy with them. I was cool with them and thought they had a history that was very interesting and a unique marketing strategy come on but the price is a bit hard to swallow especially in these times where people just don't have a bunch of disposable income and the world is in recession or at least close to it apparently the United States is doing better with inflation than the rest of the developed world. But prices on everything at my local Kroger went up 10 cents on the dollar about 2 weeks ago, so there's that. I don't understand all these companies reporting record profits 17 Tennis League complaining about some sort of artificial supply chain issue and raising prices even further and without any justifiable cause other than pure and filthy corporate greed. I find it disgusting and it should be criminalized. The prices of things required to survive such as food are approaching the point of what I would call "usury". And I will agree with you that would be an excellent choice of shoe to actually see him do a road test on because they certainly put them out there as the best shoes and I don't believe that they are . But that being said my opinion is only somewhat educated and not completely. I do know that they're made all over southeast Asia in taiwan, vietnam, and China, all the places that are okay with child labor. So I would like to learn more specifics about labor protocols at their factories.
Nice video. I was also shopping for goretex sneakers and decided on the NB Hierro 7 GTX. The Hierro 8 GTX wasn't out yet and I just love my Hierro 7 as an everyday sneaker. And watching this video, I realize how much I prefer the look of the 7 o er the 8. Crazy. 😢
Like someone else has mentioned, and even tho I love the ON waterproof sneakers, if you want to sound like a clown with squeaky shoes that’s the way to go. If you google squeaky ON, it’s a thing. $170 for something that squeaks is no good. It’s annoying and people will look at you. 😢
I hate the new Pegasus Trail 5 GTX. These make me mad. They would have been incredible if someone who knew what they were doing made em. They are too narrow to even wear. I went ahead and just bought 3 more pairs of the last model the Trail 4 GTX

Tall version of waterproof trainers, maybe not for mountain/trail.Ones that are not slippery in the city.
Yes I have them they are definitely legit 💯
Converse Winter Gore-tex Chuck. I have 3 pairs of these. Waterproof with a light fleece lining inside.
Just in time. Fall and winter approaching, had been researching this.

Triumph 22 has gore tex too now those will probably last longest
Nice review
Try also Xt6 gtx, Trabucos or even Crocs 😅
Nike Pegasus Trail 5 insole feel like sandpaper and it is unremovable. InfinityRN 4 gore tex is much comfortable.
Hasnt the cloud eclipse everything the cloudsurfer has but far more cushion? So shouldnt that be the most comfy one? ❤
