  • Come along with me on a scattered journey!🤪
    These are things I have never done before and I am excited to share with you all.
    I drove over to my carver friends (Bill and Barb) carving shop, to whoop up a couple carvings with them. Than headed over to visit my family and got the opportunity to show my little brother how to chainsaw carve his first ever pumpkin!
    To me this is what chainsaw carving is all about! Sharing your skill with others and carving with the people you care about. So thankful for both of these opportunities! So excited that my brother has started to show interest in this art form and so thankful for Bill and Barb for having me over.
    Til Next Time!😁

    I came across your channel completely by accident but I got to say I'm hooked, your videos are not only fun to watch but I've been learning little things from them, like I had no idea that chainsaw carving was an actual sport with a whole huge community of people behind it. There is just so much content you two can create out of this. Keep up the good work, I think the 2 of you are going to do amazing things together.

    Cool! Does your sister know how to carve too? Or at least use a chainsaw. I'm not an artist but I've been chainsawing since I was 8 (logs, trimming, and dead tree removal). Love your work!

    Hey Jenna! Random question. What do you use on your green/wet logs to preserve them and keep them from cracking before you start carving them? Like you get fresh green logs but you're not gonna carve them for a couple weeks and you don't want them to crack in the middle. Do you coat the ends with some kind of sealer to prevent cracking? Thanks for any feedback. Keep up the awesome work.

    • @chainsawjenna
      @chainsawjenna  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello!!! Great question! Honestly you use what you got, but it preferred to let the wood dry out and debark them. Great tip is to let them season for a couple months standing up so all the water runs down, debark when bark is ready to peel off. You can definitely carve wet wood. If you block them out when fresh, drying time is quicker. Sealing up carving is important to help prevent cracking and whatnot but not guaranteed it still won't crack. Treat carvings like a plant or your car. There is some maintenance you will need to do to keep you carving is great condition. Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching!😁

    I noticed in some of your videos that you have a metal plate with spikes in it that you mount your logs on to carve. Is that something that you purchased somewhere or did you make it? If you purchased it, can you point me to where I can get one? Thanks!

      @@chainsawjenna 372xp with 28” bar 🤔 might have to be a big pumpkin 🤣🤣
      The plan was one plank and then pumpkin 🎃, hard Australian wattle so it took 5 tanks of fuel, 2 chain resharpenisms and 4 hours. So I didn’t get a chance. But will definitely get one done.
