- Join me behind the scenes of my first ever chainsaw carving competition! This was such a fun event full of growth, learning, good food, and good times! Huge shout out to my neighbor carvers Josh Miller of Artnsaw Chainsaw Carving located out of Delaware and Jeff Coss of Bear Grove Chainsaw Carvings located out of Iowa! They took me under their wings and showed me the ropes of the chainsaw carving event world, thank you both so very much for being so kind and supportive! Also a huge shout out to all the other experienced carvers (too many to name) that choose to share tips and knowledge with me and make this first carving event such a great experience, you all rock! The carving community is something very special to me. If you ever get the chance to go to one of these events, please go! It is such a great time and I promise that any money you choose to spend at these types of events is supporting some of the hardest working people I have ever met. Happy carving!

Congrats on winning the best of show. What a great accomplishment! Yes, please make a video on the carver’s show
WOW you knocked it out of the park. Wonderful job you are the cats meow. Such a artist and cute as can be.
This was simply amazing! So much talent on display and you held your own in the competitions. We are seeing a rising star in you! Excellent video and fabulous carving!
Aww thank you! I plan to keep pushing forward! 💪
Wow, that's fantastic! It takes courage and talent to compete in your first carving competition. Keep reaching for the stars
Will do 😁
@@TayMarie23 You are a very intelligent.
Radiate positivity and attract greatness! 💫
WHAT?!?! Really?? Heyell YEAH!!! Wow! Incredible. Super congratulations!! Woohoo!! 💯💯❤️
Wow! I am so very proud of you. Congradualations on winning 1st place. What an acheivement for your first competition. I have enjoyed watching your carving videos and this was a great way to celebrate your skills.
Thank you so much! When I say winning wasn't event a thought or on my radar I truly mean it 😂 I was so shook when I found out haha!
Oh my Goodness Gracious Tay!! Congratulations! Beautiful carvings by you, your friends and fellow carvers! I so would have liked to be a butterfly on your ball cap, or under your canopy to watch you and others with your skills! Congratulations again Tay! 👍👍👍
Thank you so much! It really was a wild experience and I'm looking forward to the next carving excursion!
So impressed!!! Way to go Taylor - your talent was obvious from the very first video and I love watching you grow as an artist and this win is just the beginning. And yes - please include us on your competition journeys, as long as you have fun doing it of course! Thanks for sharing!!
I love making content for you guys! If there seems to be enough interest I will gather up the footage I have from the other larger event! 😁
Congratulations, awesome job on your carving and first place ribbon! Keep on carving. 🤙 Good job!
Thank you very much! 😁
See! Those Bob Ross's on the pallet in your yard from when you'd first began.. You told em they'd be worth something someday. Here ya are, winning your first competition. You rock with that airbrush.. details were amazing! and your chainsaw skills are just badass. Keep em coming. I love the inspiration.
I love that airbrush! Those colored paints I used on the books there really messed my brush up though, just got finished completely disassembling it and cleaning ever single little part! Hopefully that fixed the issue! 😁
That Ostrich reminds me of our honeymoon 40 years ago. My first ride and got thrown. Congrats on the win.😁🤣
Oh wow! What an incredible experience! I'm so happy you got to do that,...and congratulations on your ribbon!🎉👏👏👏🥰 That had to be amazing. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.🥰 Absolutely loved your carves, as always. And so fun to see some of the other carves as well.
Absolutely amazing can't wait for the next video.
Привет. Отличный обзор фестиваля, лучший из всех, что я видел. Коротко и информативно.
Вы мастер👍👍👍
Удачи.
Thank you so much 😊
CONGRATS TAYLOR! Great job.
Won your first competition! Awesome. I've always been in awe of all you carvers. I see a log, y'all see owls, bears, otters, you name it. I have zero artistic talent.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses 💛
Taymarie, since the start you have been an incredible artist and we all are privileged to share your passion, skill and carvings. It is an amazing accomplishment to win your first carving show. Congratulations many times over! You inspired me to start carving - although not on your scale. Just the fact you believe you can do it made me believe in myself too and carving is now one of my greatest joys! Thank you and good luck with the next. We would love to see it!!! 🦉🐻
Such kind words, thank you! I'm so happy to hear you picked up carving and are enjoying it! It's a wonderful hobby for both the mind and body! Nothing gets me so engaging like carving does, it's a wonderful feeling to be passionate about something 💛 Keep carving friend!
WINNING!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS. That is awesome for your first carving competition. Just shows how good you really are with your craft in such a short time. Keep up the good work. Love your videos. Cannot wait for the next ones.
Thank you so very much! I'm very backed up on footage! Have like 6 videos I need to edit haha!
Great job!!! Can't wait to see the ridgeway comp.😊
Congrats TayMarie, what an achievement 👏 You are definitely going places. Keep it up and happy carving 😊
Inspiring video and (again) a great carving. And yes, of course we would like to see more of these chainsaw competition videos. Pretty pretty please 😊
I spent 3.5 full 8-10 hour days editing this one so I want to make sure people enjoy them before I attempt editing the larger event 😆 so happy you enjoyed it!
I know, I videoedit for my work (and carve in my free time). Should be other way around haha. Editing takes ages. Carving as well. But well done both and congrats winning that 🥇
Awesome awesome!!!! What a phenomenal creation. Keep crushing it
Thanks a ton! 🦉
This was awesome wish it was closer to my area, but was nice watching it through your lens. Nice job on 1st!
There are events like this all over the world! Just have to find them:)
Wow!!! Amazing Taymarie. Must have been remarkable to win 1st prize on your first competition. Couldn’t be happier. Wish you posted the events, I’d love to see them! I live in the northeast so I don’t mind a drive to see something like this. Here in NY I’ve only seen ice sculptures and it was always a magnificent experience. Congrats and would love to see you compete more often.
Unfortunately we don't have many events up this way in the north east! I'm in Maine. Almost all the events are in western PA which is a hike! But there are a handful in Central PA! Follow me on FB for more announcements!
We attended the chainsaw carving show at Shippensburg and saw your masterpiece. It was beautiful and you definitely deserved the "best of the show" ribbon. Congratulations! Hopefully you'll attend next year's show in PA and we get to see you outdo the Harry Potter carving. 😀
So happy you were able to attend, all of us carvers appreciate the support, even if you didn't buy anything, just being there is huge to us! If I don't go to Shippenburg next year I will definitely do the Rendezvous in Rigway, PA! If you haven't been to that one, its worth the drive!
You and chainsaw Jenna are the ones that inspired me to try my hands at chainsaw carving. I'm so happy for you that you did so well at your first competition.
Awww! Jenna is who inspired me to start, she's one of my best friends and honesty one of the most genuine people I have meet. 💙
WOW!! That is one incredible insight in the world of Carving...Well done to you Tay Marie on your achievement...You soooo deserved that win...Simply incredible and such an inspiration to all levels of carvers out there who follows your journey!
Thank you John! Tge carving community is something special 😊 Blassed to be a part of it!
@@TayMarie23ps.....Definitely want to see your next chainsaw comp Tay!... Keep them coming.
Jeff is an Iowa native I think, but lives on the other side of the state. Hopefully get to meet you both someday. I’m looking forward to going to the US open in Eau Clair, Wisconsin the first week of August. Just amazes me how fast you’ve pick up your skills. Amazing Works.
Yes Jeff is Bear Grove Chainsaw Carving out if Iowa! Great guy and a great artist full of knowledge!
Nice work. You looked like you were having an awesome time. Sugar Pizza and Daisy are still getting compliments all the time. I feel so lucky to have them.
Aww, do happy they are at a home that enjoys them! 💛
Congratulations on your blue ribbon! Would love to see the video of your next carving competition
Great job!!!! You rock!!!!!
Super duper, you won!! Congratulations!!
Whoa, you WON your first with so many opponents???! That's legendary! Congrats!
Beginners luck! Winning wasn't even on my radar haha! When purely for the experience and to learn from my fellow carvers
every aspect of your carvings are terrific, it's what sets you apart, not just a sweet owl but the books the cauldron, and sweet painting what a treasure, would love someday to have one of your carvings congrats tay many more blue ribbons to come
The owl was the easiest part of this piece 😆 Thank you for the kind words Philip!
Holy crap.So much talent gathered in one place!
It was sureal!
That was absolutely fantastic! Thank you for sharing and spending your time on this type of video! Love it
So happy you enjoyed it! 😊
Hi Tay,
it's not many, but a little bit to see really from the USA where you're driven. I like to see other Countrys and Continents. But what i like all the most, you and your carvingvideos. You make a mega good Job all the time. Stay like how you are, you are MEEEEGA. :)
Well done! Would love to see more of these competitions
Thank you so much! Rigway is a different animal...it's MASSIVE! So happy you liked this one, if these seems yo be enough interest I'll start pulling the footage together I have on the other event!
Amazing work still waiting on the Dino 🦖 😂
Outstanding!
wow congrats on winning, those were some great carvings!
Awesome!
Congrats!! Your work and attention to detail is impressive!! Awesome job at your first competition!! Can't wait for the next video!!
Thank you very much! 😁
Congratulations!!! I was so enthralled with this video. This whole genre of art is incredibly fascinating to me. I definitely agree with the judges; yours was the best! You’re wonderful!!! 😊
Carving events are just a wild experience! I really hope to spread awareness about these competitions because sometimes the turn outs aren't great for these events, but I dont think many people know they even exist! They are such a great time and are always free admission! Would love to get more people going to them!
Congratulations Tay 🎊 There was some great carvings to be judged. Take care and good luck with the next one
I wish I was able to show more of them, there were some great peices!
Looks like an amazing time! I've gotta go to one of those competitions (as a spectator). Love your work. First place? Why of course! Congrats!
Definitely go to one if you ever can! Make sure to bring your ear plugs haha!
You did a great job with the video and I would like to see more videos like this. Your masterpiece is beautiful even though I'm not a Harry Potter fan. Good Carve
Thank you so much!
Congrats on your first competition, I knew you would do great !!
Congratulations. You're a star! Please keep making videos.
More coming up! My schedule slows down slightly in July so hopefully I can get caught up! I have a back up of about 6 videos haha!
That was fantastic! And non other then our TayMarie won 1st place. Of course we would love to see the 2nd event.
Seems like there is enough interest so I will most likely throw a video together! The talent at this competition was absolutely! But Rigway is a different animal, the talent there is mind blowing. I got to meet some carving masters!
❤
Really great video , congratulations on your win. I can't wait for your next video.
Thank you as always Roger 😊
Congratulations 🎊!!! What great encouragement this will be. Keep up the awesome work.
Best wishes From Wasaga Beach Canada ⛱️
Im definitally excited for the next event! It will be in Montana!
Congratulations! Your carvings are amazing, but I want to say something. Your video showed a lot of bear carvings. Your bear carvings outclass all of them many times over. No one can do the faces like you do. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Aww thanks! I struggle with the bears, they always get done to my standard but the process to get there is never pretty 🤣 Each bear gets a little better!
Amazing work! What fun!
My o my you really worked on your inventory! Of course you got first place you are where you belong doing carving! It takes a pro
I never do inventory, I had to work double time to do my normal packed commision schedule and carve all those little inventory critters to bring! It was chaos haha! Worth the works though! 💪
Congratulations! It was awesome! Loved the video and would love to see more. ❤
I seriously do believe you are amazing 👏 ✨️. Great 🇺🇸 job 🇺🇸 👍
Beautiful work! I definitely want to see the Ridgeway Rendezvous video.
It will probably be a little bit before I have time to edit it but there seems to be enough interest! So there will definitely be one! 😊
Congratulations. I am, as always, very impressed. Best Regards.
Thank you very much!
Oh, you cannot mention Rendezvous and leave us hanging like that!
Haha the Rendezvous is always a star! I went the year prior as a visitor so it was super cool to be a carver this year!
AWEEOME!!!!!! CONGRATS
very good young lady,,,,years and years of carving ahead of you
I hope so! 🙌🏼
Looks like a fun event. I bet it smells great too.
It smelled like fresh pine sawdust and fair food from the food trucks! Can't say I was mad about it haha!
This is on my bucket list now. Just great
You have to go to one! They are wild! Bring your ear plugs 🤟🏼
So fun! Good job taylor!
Love the video awesome work congratulations
Great job, you are amazing 👍🏼
Congratulations! Also, I did enjoy this video style. If it is too big a pain then no worries. Take care.
Happy you enjoyed it! I just wanted to make sure their was some intrest since I have never posted a video like this :)
How awesome is that! Nice job!
Great Job. You Deserve it.
It's amazing how far you have come in such a short span of time.
I can promise that in that short spand of time there have been countless hours of hard work! 😊
You did what I would do do what you know great job be safe
Gratulation great work
Congrates, i would have paid twice the high price, great job!!!!
Haha come on down to the next competition!!!
Tay, by golly I bet you were tickled getting the 1st place ribbon. Congratulations....fantastic job. You have a knack for this don't you. I'm wondering if with the Hedwig sculpture, you'll venture in your imagination and begin to carve things other than animals...just saying. Let that ingenuity take over. Again, congrats.
One day I'll carve what's in my noggin but for now it's just back to back commissions so I'm at the mercy of what's ordered. I do have some unique orders under way though! Very excited!
Это супер. Очень красивая работа достойно первого места. Ты молодец.
Thank you!
Awesome work young lady!
Thank you! Cheers! 😁
Very cool. That hairless cat was _freaky._ 😬😂
Food looks good, too 🤤
Hahaha he had 3 I think! They were so friendly and sat on his backpack! I forgot the gentleman's name but he is a very talented artist!
love your work
Bravo.. go girl…
Love it❤
Dang you done fantastic way to go congratulations
Thank you!
Brava 👍👏
Wow Tay, that's fantstic. Well done. I have a 10 year old granddaughter who loves Harry Potter, hope you don't mind if I take some inspiration from your carving and make something for her. X
Haha no worries over here! Make something special for her 😊
Congratulations on the blue ribbon 🙏❤️🙏 you obviously made the right choice skipping that quick carve to to detail on hedwig … just out of Curiosity what did you get for that work of art???
All items are auctioned off at these events, things tend to sell for less then they would private sale. Buyers get GREAT deals at these events! Hedwig's top bid was 1,800, I got 50% of that. Not ideal but it was worth the experience!
YES!!! 👏🏻 Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉🍾 Tay, you did an amazing job, and quick question, the guy who did that dragon fly, is he by chance from PA too? I’m pretty sure I know him, he lives out in Seneca and if that wasn’t his dragon fly I’d be super surprised because it’s his style 100% but anyways Ty for sharing, you do amazing work on all your carvings, such a happy good style, I’m stoked for ya
There were 2 dragon flys, one was carved by Brigitte Lochhead from Canada, im not positive who carved the other! However, there were lots of PA carvers, so it's definitely possible it was the carver you know :)
Nice! Very nice.
You are amesing i am from algeries
cool.
Do you go to the one in Leavenworth Washington?😊
I did not this year! It's tough because I'm in northern Maine and you can't fly chainsaws...so I would have to do the drive with a trailer of tools and it's a haul! So I'm a bit stuck over here on the east coast! Occasionally events will have tools to borrow but they are usually reserved for the international carvers
Đây là cuộc thi làm gỗ hạ chị
you're so gorgeous and skilled
Great job are you sure you didn’t get a chainsaw for your 10th birthday?😂
Haha maybe I was an arborist in a past life or something 😂 I can promise you I had never even held a chainsaw prior to the little electric one I got in late August of 2022!
@@TayMarie23
Amazing. I whittle, and I’m going to try and miniaturize your hedwig. 😉
WHO IS OPPERATING THE CAMERA??
My trusty camera man is my boyfriend Marco! He loved your comment haha! He came all the way down for the entire two and a half weeks of events! Lucky to have him around 💛
Ha ha😁
taking first place with an owl is a so-so achievement, will you always cut out an owl at competitions? And it’s better to cut out a figure that is unfamiliar to you, which you have never cut out, but the owl is already familiar to you, the ostrich was magnificent, he was condemned☹️,when they tell you to cut Alexander the Great out of a tree in the same amount of time, what will you do? huh?
Seems like a terrible idea to carve something unknown at somebody's first competition 😂
@@monte972But, if you are given the task of cutting out a figure that you have never cut out, what will you do? Were you taught this? It’s better to cut out crookedly than not at all
You must be fun at parties 😂 Considering this was my first carving event where the point of attending was to learn from others over compete, yes of course I would choose something I'm more confident in doing lol. I didn't want to be so stressed out trying to finish something that I missed all the magic happening around me! It's not about winning. But yes, the ostrich was magnificent in every aspect of the word. Josh is a true master of the craft, it's a good thing I carved an owl so I could step back and learn as much as possible from him.
@@TayMarie23that was my stupidity, you did great, 👏 congratulations! I wish you to get married and have two 👨👩👧👦 children
I noticed that a lot of carvers don't wear face masks. I hope they take your pro tip to heart and get lung protection.
Haha we all do what we want :) But I'll always mask up, even with a well fitted respirator you should see the amount of fine sawdust I sneeze out after every single work day, I couldnt imagine not wearing one!
