Hey thanks for posting that! I ride the trail almost every weekend tho I just ride the flat on my trek hybrid (I have a video of it here if you care to look it up) but that I'm glad you found that path in the woods with the big ass fallen tree that's been there since a major storm blew through this past spring I think or maybe last year? I've been wondering if anyone's cleared it and obvi no so thanks for answering that question. love that you found those other trails to explore. The main path goes about 14miles from where you parked and terminates at Falmouth Landing north of Bainbridge, which is a little south of 3 mile island.
I live very close to the Northwest River Trail. I run, walk and bike it all the time so know exactly where your journey was. It's nice to see a video of the Columbia-Marietta area that is not strictly someone riding along the paved trail. So awesome you went over the tracks and down to the other trail along the river. The path you took to the trail to the tracks and to the other side over to the parking lot where you would have come out at was a favorite running spot of mine. Over the summer we had a terrible storm that dropped dozens of trees. I'll have to go see if they've cleared that mess up since last year. Thanks again for the nice video. By the way - kudos for walking your bikes up the hill to Breezyview Outlook!!
We're glad to hear you enjoyed our take on the River Trail! We were surprised to find all the little ins and outs along the trails! Certainly makes for a more eventful ride than just staying on the path. We're glad we decided to explore the path up to the Breezyview Outlook! Great view and it was nice getting a little downhill action on the way back down! 🤘 Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment, and thank you for watching! 😁✌
Nice! I just found this video after mentioning this trail with you. My cousin and her husband own that Bootleggers antique shop there in Columbia where you guys started on that trail. I've been taking small chunks of that trail and one day last year I went up to Bainbridge across from York Haven and road the whole trail down and back. It was beautiful in the mid 60's and sunny out. Nick way to find those off the beaten path trails. I've seen them along the way but never went to see where they went. Thanks to you I can skip them now because you showed me what they're like. 🤣 I'm glad you guys were able to find a local bike shop to get that tire fixed, that would've sucked to walk a bike back 7 miles. I love that little town of Marietta! I like McClearys pub and Shanks Tavern.
Sweet! We love checking out the antique shops around there! And yeah there were so many off the beaten path trails all around the trail, it was pretty cool getting to explore them! Lots of downed trees though! 😂 We we’re definitely lucky to have found that shop! Really sparked my decision to get some better and more minimalist bike tools that will be easy to bring with us on rides, which is what this Sundays video will be about! 😉 Such an awesome area over there, would love to live within biking distance!
Going for full dramatic effect 😂 Lancaster is tight. Plenty of cool stuff to check out so we spend a lot of time out here! Definitely worth the visit! Thanks for watching homie! 🤙
@@NickandKatieMTB my favorite trails are Vista, Double P, anywhere in the Woodrow Road area. I can be on most of those trails in 20 minutes or less. Would love to ride them sometime if you are in the area.
@@jasonnell1477 can’t go wrong with any of the trails in that area! Been a while since we have gotten up there, but really hoping to get there this fall. It’s so beautiful up there this time of year. Maybe we can rip some trails up there sometime!
The wife and I just rode this trail for the first time today. Very nice trail! I didn't find this video until after the ride was over, so you've given me some insight for our next ride there. I didn't realize there were so many side trails. We only went as far as Marietta, but when we have the whole day we plan to ride all the way to Falmouth. Great job with the video, too. I , too, am reluctant to put myself out there for the sake of a youtube channel, so I haven't actually started one yet, but soon (maybe), but you're doing fine.
We love this trail! Actually just went back to film the video we posted this evening! 😄 We’ve ridden there a bunch of times before but never really explored it so thoroughly until this video! Hope you get back there soon to check out some of the side trails. 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video! And definitely start a channel! It’s been so cool to look back at all the memories of fun times we had. We’re glad we started one! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
@@NickandKatieMTB So, The first time on the trail, we went from Columbia to Marietta just past mile marker 4. We didn't explore any side trails that day. However, we went back again a week later and started at the other end of the trail in Falmouth and rode a little past the Shock Mill RR Bridge to mile marker 8. The White Cliff of Conoy were pretty neat to see. We, too , will go back to do some more exploring with a little more planning ahead.
@@mitch42165 love to hear it! The White Cliffs are one of our favorite stops along the route! If you ever see us out on the trail be sure to say hello! 👋

Why have you NOT ridden Trexler Nature Preserve MTB?
Just looked up some videos about the place and it looks awesome! Trexler is definitely on our list now, thanks for the recommendation! 🤙
