Materials used: Uart 600 sanded paper. Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils and other soft pastels.
Prismacolor NuPastel colors:
Background: Light sap green, olive green, bottle green, Prussian blue
Bird: light blue, ultramarine blue, indigo blue, raw sienna, rust color, white, gray, black
Pastel Pencils: cream, yellow orange, yellow ochre, pale vermillion, cadmium orange, yellow chartreuse (lime) olive green, ultramarine, sky blue

What soft pastels do you use? I am looking at the 120 half stick set by Swnnwlier, should I spend a lot of money on these or would you recommend something else? I have done photo-realistic pastel portraits but am looking at expanding into landscapes and seascapes, with seascapes being my favorite.

Did you mean sennelier pastels? I don't usually recommend brands other than having a set of medium/hard pastel sticks like NuPastels and sets of soft pastels with the colors you will need. Many sets already have color combinations for landscapes, and sets good for seascapes. There are so many to choose from with so many prices for different budgets. Look luck shopping.
