Thanks for watching and comments! The bulbs replacement in this Focus Mk3+ model is a very straightforward task, but it required to remove the headlight assembly as first step, thus this video. If you ventured out to take off the headlamps already, you can surely get the bulbs replaced! :)
great vid.. thanks!! i'm using this to be able to get at the fog light to change to HID fog lights. suggestion: It might have been cool to see you put one of the headlight units back, vs going over some of the non-pertinent things about the inside of the car. thanks!!
Hey Momo, this is my first comment. Before my question, I want to say to keep up the work!! Awesomeness. I was wondering if you detached a cable from your battery before the removal. I'm installing new bulbs, and Id like to know. Thank you.
There's no specific need to detach the battery ground cable for headlight removal at the convenient point of view. Just make 100% sure your engine and headlight switch is at the OFF position first. When you see no bulbs are lighted up in the headlamp you can safely proceed to perform its removal.
thanks for the video very helpful as usual. sometimes I see some sports car got blue ish LED color. I don't think it's stock. but can they adjust the LED coloring or it's fixed from factory? thsoe blueish led look pretty nice. can't wait for the video where you talk about how to replace bulbs etc in the headlamp
Are you talking about the blue-ish Parking Lamps or Main Headlamps? Because for general Parking lamps you can plug whatever color LED bulbs (Not saying they're legal!). But for the Main Headlamps I don't think there're any viable true LED aftermarket replacement other than certain HID aftermarket conversions only (HID is not LED, btw). Headlamps color, like Stars, is determined by Kelvin(K) the color temperature. The higher the color temp > 5600K, the 'bluer' they'll look like. However; blue-ish color lights will never be stock-equipped from factory because they actually give you LESS light illumination on the road. They may look cool in car shows but you don't want to drive with headlamps with too blue-ish color. The BEST headlamps color is around 4300-4500K for most stock-equipped car with HID factory, where the older Halogen lights are around 3200K, thus they look 'yellow-ish'.
It seems my connector was stuck and without using much force I broke that little plastic tab ;[ how do I take out the connector now to put in new headlight assembly?
I haven't experienced any water condensation in the headlamps. Is it because you're living in a high humidity area? Our Focus's headlamps are usually sealed pretty well, but one quick thing you can check is by looking at those big 'rubber grommet/plugs' on the headlamp, see if they're not tight. However; I'd suggest you actually open them up to let the moisture out and dry the headlamp first (In the garage or Sunny Day only)
thanks for the answer my fren moo:-) by the way I have notice that during rainny days at night I found out that my mk3 fofo 2012 has a bit of condensation on Headlamps assembly? did it happened to you also?
no moisture after a while moo. thats whay i wonder where it goes in & out. i havnt seen after a few hours in the garage parking & when the car dried up after running on the rain. so no need to dry it. anyway ill double check the rubber gaskets on it to make sure then. Thanks A lot I really appreciate your sincere answer my friend. I have my FB page email add is alinusjoy@gmail,com incase you want to see my fofo.
Your videos are awesome. I have watched several about my 2012 Focus. Changed filters, lamps myself saving $$$. Keep it up! Your a mechanics nightmare!
Great Video... had to remove the right headlight just a few days ago, due to a 10mm ratchet socket i lost in my car during battery removal ;-)
Great video thanks my friend I recently bought the led headlights and I think with your video I'll do the entire change by myself
You never made the headlight bulb video! Love watching your videos BTW

Good catch! It's the HID headlamps with LED accents.
Later I'll make a video just to talk about this headlamp.
Moo, another fantastic video. We really appreciate your attention to detail. What country are you in?
Thanks man, i replaced both front and rear amber bulbs thanks to you!

Glad the video helped! Check out my channel, there's one for the Fog Bulb replacement...

His car appears to be the ST version, but does not label his videos as such since his demos closely relate to the standard MK3 Focus versions as well.
what size of the tool that you use for the headlamp philip screw look alike moomoo97 ? Do I hear "trak head?"
is this Headlamps Assembly from a focus ST ?
Is this on a focus st?
You can use T30 Torx Bit or Flat-Head Screwdriver for that screw.
when im pressing down on the wire connector to the headlight its not releasing the wires from headlamp
The tab is just a lock. You have to pull the connector while pressing down the tab.
@@moomoo97 The tab seems to be just for decoration. It doesn’t move at all.
Did you make this video? =)
