This video is still paying dividends...2012 Ford Focus lock connector came disconnected, wouldn't have been able to fix without your excellent video...thank you
THANK YOU. I had a laminated placard that has my kids initials on it that slipped down inside the door when i cracked the window open because a teacher wanted to talk to me. with your walk-through, i was able to take the door panel off and get the placard out of the door. again, THANK YOU.
I had to take my door panel off again to deal with a weird galvanic corrosion issue on the negative speaker connection to my crossover, and your video helped me again. I used some of your advice four years ago as well on my major system installation and it worked great. Thanks!
Thanks fella, very useful,i need to replace a blown door speaker,I'm sure i could have worked it out myself but its nice to see someone physically doing it to know just how the parts are removed beforehand to help avoid any accidental breakages, lol
Thank you for this. My window got stuck open. I had no idea what to do but with the help of your video I was able to get to the window motor and sort it out.
thanks man my daughter put a chocolate milk in the door and it spilled so I need to take it apart to clean video was very informative and i really appricate it THUMBS UP!
Thanks for the info Jason. I ordered my speakers from Crutchfield, and they didnt have a mastersheet for installing them myself, which is their big claim. Your videos are exactly what i'm looking for. My buddy and I test drove an ST and we both immediately thought the Sony system was effin garbage. $2000 upgrade? $2000, effin garbage! I'm ordering components for the rears, since you can't hear anything from the rear stock speakers. And then add a sub after that.
Thanks for this post. I need to remove mine to fix a constant buzzing rattle in the passenger side and I probably would have broken or damaged something, and then been extremely pissed off, if it hadn't been for a few of the tips you gave.
Thank you very much. So many times I've removed things were it took forever trying to figure out where all the screws are. This will save me a lot of time. So helpful. Peace!!!
absolutely brilliant had to remove the door only issue was the wiring loom from the door to the a pillar would you be able to assist people with that incase like me i had to change the door regards tracy
great video! I was going to replace the door speakers but sound like I need to get a few things since you said you cut it out. THe lighting was hard to see what you were doing until you used the drill light.
+Justin Stratton sorry about the lighting. my new garage has way better lighting. you just need a good pair of side cutters or a dremmel tool to cut out the old cone and replace it with new speaker in the old housing. I have a detailed video for doing that.
Could you make a video on how to replace the led door lights in the door handle. Is there a way to do it where you wouldn’t have to take off the entire door panel?? I have a 2012 ford focus sel
Great video! Could you please explain or make a video explaining how to remove just the lower cubby panel off the inside of the door? Is it screwed on from the inside (therefore I'd need to take the panel off as you've done here), or can I simply pull it off without tools. It's vibrating from the speaker and I want to seal it.
Hey Jason Crutchfield is telling me I have to buy the Scosche speaker adapter brackets to install speakers in my 2014 Ford Focus ST. I saw that you had just installed them in the factory mounts.
how did you wire up the tweeters? what did you wire them to? also if I hook a line out converter to the rear door speakers will it have any negative effect? should I wire the tweets to front speakers? sorry for all the questions
They are coaxials. I was thinking of doing components in the rear and cutting my own hole for tweeters similar to the ST. But I don't know where to mount the crossover hardware that usually comes with components. So I'm hoping I can run my coaxials in the front with the stock tweeters.
Great job. Very useful. I'll will be working on my older brothers 2015 Ford Foucus St in a couple weeks. Doing a 5 channel amp with new speakers all around. Keep up the great work.
My brother wanted simple so 1 kenwood amp kenwood excelon front and rear speakers and a planet audio for the sub in the stock sub box with either 1 or 2 3/4 inch risers the create a little space for the speaker to fit in the stock location. It a dual 4 ohm so the amp with push 500 rms so there should be plenty of head room to tune the woofer and amp for it's best acoustic reault.
Thanks for the video Jason. I am looking forward to upgrading my 2014 Focus Hatchback. Before I do, I am interested to know what kind of improvement you gained after doing the upgrade? My stock system has very good sound in the front but very poor in the back. Would you know if this is because of the stock head unit or just lacking speaker quality? The stock unit offers all of the features I want but lacks the power to push hard, if I have very rapid bass kicks the stock head unit seems to lower its volume to avoid distortion. Any advise on this problem or information about how much improvement you received would be very useful. Thanks again for the video.
won't get my dynamat for awhile, thinking about doing a test run on taking off the door panels. bad idea? I think the clips aren't built for taking off the panels too many times? want to avoid it as much as possible?
I was looking at these Infinitys. So, if I use them with the stock radio, would I still put the included crossovers inline? Mount them in the door somewhere?
yes use the included crossovers and you will have to mount the rear door crossover in the door and the front door crossover will have to go in the back next to the amp.
Hey Jason! I just bought two Polk 2-way 6.5's to replace the door speakers on my SE. I still want to keep the tweeters, and I just thought to upgrade the lower speaker. Is their a crossover or anything thats splitting the signal to the fronts? I want to keep the stock tweeters, with the new Polks. For the rears, I was just going to leave the stock ones since the sound is barely noticeable. But I noticed in one of your pics, you have tweeters in the rear doors. Is that stock on your ST?
Have you installed rear speakers in the Focus ST? I talked to Crutchfield and they said you have to cut out the factory speaker grills in the back door panels to fit aftermarket speakers.
you have to cut the factory speaker its self and put the new speaker inside of the old speak. you do not need to cut the speaker grill built into the door panel.
I'm looking to install heated signal mirrors in my 2012 SE hatchback. Any way you could do a video showing the wiring for that and possibly the removal of the mirror? Your videos are incredibly helpful dude! Keep it up and thanks a bunch for what you've posted thus far!
thanks. once you pull the tweeter section off you should be able to get to all of the nuts that hold on the mirror. but the wiring is probably under the door panel.
Did you have to use a shallow mount speaker in the door or were you able to get a good size speaker in the door? Going to be installing re audio xxx6.5c in the door and do you have a video of the back door removal?
Thanks for the video! This helps out a lot and have you done a replacement of the driver side window motor? I need to replace mine and not sure what to look for exactly.
Can you confirm if the main door panel is two parts. I'm assuming it is. I have a tan interior so the top part of the door panel is tan and the lower have is black. I would like to wrap or paint the top part but don't know if these panels can be separated.
Hey Jason! Thanks a lot for this vid, was really helpfull in my project, but i'm kind of stuck in here; I'm trying to install a ghost shadow light (those ones that are mounted in the door panel and shows a logo, in my case the "ST" emblem) the thing is that i found the wires to turn on the light (i'm using the same arness that power up the LED oem system on the door panel, my light glows perfect but I just can't turned off, no matter the led is of, my courtesy light stills on, do you know how can I wired this light so only turns on when the door is open and then off if I closed??? Thanks in advance bro, i"ll really appreciate your help on this!
I have a 2014 focus SE with the 6 speaker setup and I would like to know are the speakers 6.5 all the way around in the doors or not. I don't have the Sony system but I due have sync.
Joshua Currie yes 6.5" in front and back. you may want to do both with component speakers and make it a 8 speaker set up and use my other video to add the rear teeters.
Hey bro .. can u teach me how to change the mirror ? This one in out of the car at the door Do i have to replace the door like u did in this vidoe or don't have to do it !! Excuse my language i'm not that much 😊 Answer me plz
Hey Jason, awesome videos. I've used many so far. I've got a question for the speakers though. I've got the same set up, an ST1 and I'm upgrading to the same infinity primus. Is the tweeter and woofer just plug and play? I'm mostly confused with the crossover. Am I even using the crossover if I'm not upgrading the amp or anything but the speakers? Thanks.
Great instructions. I was able to do it. I feel smart now. Thank you so much. I'm subscribing. Could you do video on how to change an alternator and battery on 2012 Ford Focus SE?
Jason did you use the same Infinity Primus speaker kit 6500CS for the rear doors? I have a 2014 ST2 and are wondering if I just need to buy (2) of the aforementioned kits?
Any idea what could be rattling inside the frame of the door during high volume music? When i really crank it something is vibrating in the door just enough to be annoying? Anything inside the door look loose or cheap?
Jason, I'm trying to replace the window motor on the passenger side, how much farther is it do do so? Will any other tools be required? Most importantly, is this still a two hour job?
+Jason Georgievski .... ok I just got better doors speakers for my focus I figured you could use the stock speaker bracket some how so you cut out the factory speakers then put new ones in sealed that off what kind of wires did you use to soder the new speaker to the terminal?
Jason Georgievski Ah yes it looks like you're correct. I can easily remove the cover of the tweeter and see a couple plastic clips for the housing on the left side of it, but I'm not sure about the right side. Do I just pull straight out? Don't want to wreck it.
Bro!! Can u make a video off how to reeplace the oem amplifier for one afthermarket one? I se u make one video off the focus st. But i need to know wat wires are for the power, speakers and audio in. Please. Thanks
focus ST should be the same as the sony in the normal focus. all wire colors should be the same. P.S. you can NOT get rid of the stock amp. you can only add onto the factory system. look in my video descriptions.
Hi there thanks a lot . can you tell me how to change the electric mirror. 1 . is it posible to change only the electric part or must i change hole mirror . the mirror outside upper part have samen color as my car. so if ik order annuleren New mirror then it is not painted. I wonder of ik can change the upper part of mirror. hopelijk tot hear from u.
use a razor to cut the foam surround. then cut the 2 wires from the cone to the housing. then cut the support braces that hold the magnet close to the ring. then mount the speaker so the housing so the terminals are as close as possible to the terminals on the ring. lastly solder the terminals together.
Thanks for this video! It helped me take 2 of my doors apart to replace 2 broken door latch mechanisms on my 2012 focus se. Thanks friend! Make more videos :)
Hi Man. How I can teke out the front upper part of dashboard? The one in hard plastic at the front. Just below windshield? It has a crack and I want to repair it. Regards.
@@FatGuyBuilds No, the one at the end front of dashboard. Just below windshield. The hard part just before the soft part begins. At very front of dashboard.
Richard Dixon haven't had that problem yet. when I do I will make a video. newer than 08 shouldn't have problems. But as soon as I or someone I know has the problem I will help out youtube.
So Jason, you used the small stock speaker wiring, even after you hooked the amp into the system? This isn't a concern? On your ST, you took the front door signals from the back of the stereo or did you get the signal from the factory amp? I've been bouncing around all the videos to try to figure it out, but it's two cars and all the info is spread out. Thanks
the wiring is all in the description. I pulled the signal for the LC2i from the factory amp. you can use it from the back of the radio because lots of the radio functionality will not work.
You can do that but then the sound will not be as good because the tweeter is at you shin. And that is quite a ways from you ear. But it will work no problem.
Cool video pal, just wondering if you have done a video on how to remove the chrome trim on the front grill and on both sides of the doors so it can be wrapped or sprayed
Hi Jason. You clearly know a lot about speakers. This is my video of my 2012 Ford Focus SEL 2012 Ford Focus speakers popping and crackling and high frequency sound I describe a lot of the details in the video description. Just curious if you have any idea what it might be or if it's an easy fix before I spend an astronomical amount of money to have a dealership look at it. Thanks, Chantelle
I watched the one with your subwoofer nice work on it good idea on the mounting point for the box I'm about todo the same to mine I have a 12 inch pioneer I'm about to put in
I was an engine design engineer at Ford for 13 years and I would have had no idea how to get my door panel off without your video. Thanks!

Very good walkthrough. I was able to conquer 2 annoying rattles; one in the door panel and another in the tweeter.

there is plenty of room in the door for all standard size speakers.

No you should not need to.
Use the stock speaker as ur mount

You used the Lc2 and still used the stock wiring?
yes sir
Thanks for the great video... This is going to save me a lot of time, dude. Just got an ST and I'm probably going to get the Infinity speakers.
Thanks For Watching!!!
how did you cut out the stock speakers from the speaker housing?
use a razor to cut the foam surround.
then cut the 2 wires from the cone to the housing.
then cut the support braces that hold the magnet close to the ring.
then mount the speaker so the housing so the terminals are as close as possible to the terminals on the ring.
lastly solder the terminals together.
Excelente servicio 👍🏽 gracias máquina
thanks!

Hi Man. How I can teke out the front upper part of dashboard? The one in hard plastic at the front. Just below windshield? It has a crack and I want to repair it. Regards.
the one with the gauges?
@@FatGuyBuilds No, the one at the end front of dashboard. Just below windshield. The hard part just before the soft part begins. At very front of dashboard.
how do you get the front regulator changed on a 2013 focus? can't find any videos for anything newer than an 2008
Richard Dixon haven't had that problem yet. when I do I will make a video. newer than 08 shouldn't have problems.
Thanks For Watching!!!
Thanks,
Chantelle
